I have been out on the High Peak Trail this morning – you ought to see what the PDNPA have done between Green Lane and Friden, smooth as a snooker table and as wide as a country lane! Public authority vandalism at its worst

It’s rutting season – might be worth keeping a safe distance from stag and his harem!

No drinking – even Duty Free is devoid of alcohol. There’s a couple of big shopping malls. I was over there in March on business so didn’t get much time for sight seeing, seemed to spend a lot of time in traffic queues. If you like fish you might to try Zephere it is in one of the suburbs (they are on Facebook). It’s nothing like Dubai

My brother in law hired one, apart from nearly demolishing the bay window, taking my other brother in laws head off and creating something like the Somme and getting the excavator stuck – nothing went wrong

There are only two sections where there could be problems, the main one is the bridge over the River Derwent in Matlock, the track is in the centre of the bridge, DCC suggest moving the track to one side or the other, this may not be feasible due to the curvature of the track. The rest of the proposed route it would be possible to run a cycle track adjacent to the railway track

Peak Rail actually are in an interesting position.
    1. They have the lease of the track bed from Rowsley South to Matlock, in the original agreement with the District Council they had to create a concessionary footpath from Matlock to Rowsly Soutn
2, They own the bridge over the River Derwent at Rowsley (behind the Peacock Hotel)

Peak Rail do want to extend to Buxton, realistically to do this would cost in the region of £110m (2004 costs based on the DCC feasibility study), the PDNPA have indicted that there should be no rail termini in the National park, so that in theory rules out just running to Bakewell. I believe that the track bed is protected in case that it is re-opened and integrated into the national network

Although the knee surgery was a success, I still suffer with a Bakers Cyst (Popliteal Cyst) usually after sitting at my desk or after driving. The Dr says I could have a steroid injection,. Has / does anyone had / have the same problem and had a steroid injection (or other treatment)
