I had inguinal hernias on left and right hand side – went private, very nice back on bike after 3 months. Then went one better and had a Spegellian Hernia – went NHS sorted within 3 weeks of going to the GP again back on bike after 3 months. Still get the odd twinge, nothing serious though.

All problems started when I hit 40

Longest Day gets my vote – useless fact Richard Todd met himself in the film (he played Major Howard in the film and was the battalion commander who made contact with Major Howard in 1944 – there is a scene of this in the film)

Yes we have gone this route, we have a small backyard (now a Courtyard) which was all concrete. We were originally going to slab it with reclaimed limestone / gritstone slabs then we decided to go down the artificial grass route. The cost per sq metre increases the better grade of grass you buy, to prepare the yard I put a bed of sharp sand down approximately 5 cms deep, you then lay the grass as you would a carpet.

You do need to deodorise / water it if you have got a dog. You can use the Hoover on it to pick up any leaves etc, apart from the deodorising we had to buy a piece slightly bigger than we wanted. Would I recommend it ? Yes, over last month or so we have been enjoying eating al fresco at least 4 times a week

Have to agree CSCS is the one that you need – they usually have a test centre at the DVLA theory centres or there are mobile units. There is (was) the CSCS Red Card which for trainees or people studying for a NVQ L2 or above

You need to look at what agreed hourly rate was and what the national minimum wage legislation says. If she is being paid less than the NMW report the owner to HMRC – they can fine people up to £1000 per person under NMW

There is only two of us (and the dog) , should I go for a two berth or as people suggest a three / four birth. I have a VW Tiguan does anyone tow a caravan with one? Buying a caravan is this another sign that I am getting old?

Wrightyson – don’t go camping so not sure of prices. It is a good pub, free wifi and huge portions of food. It’s only 10 mins from where I live so do frequent quite regularly. The beer is nice as well
