You’re right, 34T rear, and thinking about it, it’s probably worse when I use the granny/34T rear combo. Which obviously isn’t often being the iron legged beast that I am :D

I have tried having the stem lower down the steerer, but the front end felt a bit low then. I think I’m a funny shape :-)

Bizzarely, I find mine’s all over the place on climbs if I don’t wind the forks down a bit. Hmm, maybe I need to work on my technique a bit! Great bike though, real all-rounder :-)

Yep, for £8 it was a worthwhile investment. Speed increased by nearly 2mbs, and has been more stable since I fitted it.

Personally, I’d have told then to get f*cked and carried on my merry way. They’re the group of users I find more ignorant than any others to be honest. If the bloody thing’s not able to be ridden without getting spooked, then they’re the ones that need to sort sh*t out, not you. A polite "bike behind you, passing on your left etc" should be all that’s necessary. If they ask you to wait, then that’s fair enough, but to think they’ve got some god given right to have everyone treat them with kid gloves is out of order IMO
