    LOL @ Martin

Individual call details NOT necessarily all at once!
    Although in the same 'job'

    Patient has been drinking
    Fight in progress
    Police travelling
    Major blood loss

    is not unusual 😆

Sorry to disagree with you Mr Barnes but your current IQ is more than sufficient 😉

Biomacs are interesting………but 500 euros for a pair of shoes 😯

The Canfields are lovely, as they should be for that price!

Insurance should follow the continental ( think )lead of the highest powered vehicle involved in a colision always being at fault.

😆 You really think that, even if it was true? Do you call the RSPCA if you find a dead bird?

Edit – surely even TJ must have a boredom/pragmatist breaking threshold!

    TR – this is a wind-up right ???

And if your sister really called the RSPCA about a dead bird, 'not the brightest' doesn't do her or her friend justice – complete morons would be more apt.

I remember going apeshit when my daughter ran up a £65 bill one month. To be so calm about £2k I can only imagine that you are seriously minted.

As an aside, I think the charity would have benefitted from getting a £2k donation far more than anything your daughter contributed as a volunteer worker. Let's face it she can't have done much as she was never off the phone!

Possibly, but don't they have different profiles?

Yes, the angles are different but from recently wasting a looong time trying to work out the problem with mine, which is designed for Campag fit 45×45, I realised that the previous owner had used the 'other' standard. This meant that they appeared to fit and work ok but were sitting slightly proud of the headtube, as they were smaller outside diameter ie. 'Cane Creek fitting 36×45'. They installed into the headtube ok which is why I think it's possible you have the same problem in reverse as the Campags have a slightly larger OD.

I don't know what's more confusing, why the headset won't fit, or trying to work out what the hell is going on between two threads on similar topics!

You should have the right headset for the frame (Merlin are doing them even cheaper BTW) – maybe you have been sent the Campag model by mistake which has a very slightly larger OD 41.8mm as opposed to 41.0mm

If you need a headset press you have the wrong headset. The iS3i is for integrated headsets and the bearings are designed to fit into the headtube directly without cups.

    What frame is it?

Mine has now shipped – 48 hours after the order was placed which now means I'll be woken by the postman tomorrow. 👿

Not a complicated order, some chain lube, Hope brake adaptor and a Sram PC951, all in stock. Missing a day on a late'ish order I can understand but they should not be advertising that their aim is that goods ordered before 3pm are despatched 'same day', when quite obviously, going by the number of recent complaints, they are not able to achieve that. This is the third 'late' delivery I have had since early July, giving a 50% failure rate.

A day late is one thing, 48 hours suggests that there is a problem.

I'm lost – how do you 'deharden' a cog?

Another thumbs up for the Velosolo, clever, simple idea and makes a knackered disc hub/wheel usable again.

My order placed at 1311 yesterday is still 'processing' (now 1550 next day).

This is not good because if it's not sent today to arrive tomorrow morning the postie will waken me up Saturday or Monday morning and I'm on nightshift all weekend. Then I'll be really unhappy !

Woody that is not a blue whale.

I know but you try finding a pic with a man strong enough to lift a Blue Whales dick 8)

The largest penis in the animal world belongs to the blue whale and has been measured at 8ft.

In relative terms the largest belongs to the Argentine Blue Bill duck, which at 17" is over twice as long as the duck, which measure 8".

And if anyone ever fancied being a fluffer, here's a pic of the whale 😯

    MTB 38:20

s/s road 44:16 (too high for me but I'd run of of 'magic gear' ring/cog options)

Years ago MBUK did at test on bars with a long pole and weights to test 'stiffness'. They did find a difference but as I have a life I didn't pay too much attention to the findings. How much 'flex' translates, or is worth considering in the 'real world' of riding is debatable, when other factors involved in the frame/forks/wheels/tyre area are taken into account.

I would think the flex in the stem on your typical 4 bolt clamp width is tiny compared with flex in bars, even oversize ones.

Not sure why you and singlespeedstu have got quite so upset by me

    Don't be so touchy Grum.

Chas Roberts is a very well known framebuilder in Croydon. He has a shop (not a shed) but does, or at least did, have a beard. One of his best known creations was the Dogs Bolx, that is why the name is on the frame. It had nothing to do with the owners opinion of the bike, although it is definitely the mutts nuts, chihuahuas chichis, giraffes gonads, baboons ballsack, or whatever else you would like to call it.

Yup. Pretty sure they are Barracuda as some others still have the stickers on. None of those frames left by the looks of it. I take it yours is the 16" at that price. IIRC the 18" was a tenner more and if your 'spare' was 18" I might have made you an offer 😉

As said above, 2 ratios will be very handy eg. one for on road and one for off (or if it's just plain hilly), if that is your plan.

If you don't want to go 'fixed' at any point I have (for sale) a flip/flop Surly 1×1 free/free wheel where you can have a different ratio each side. White Bros also do a duo freewheel but it is on the pricey side.

But why oh why would you want it to say that on the frame?

Never heard of Chas Roberts Grum ?

What frame is that, it looks great?

There was a company selling off bankrupt stock with the same frame design and I was sorely tempted to build something like that. I'm going to have to see if they have any left now…………….

This one used to belong to Lard off here and is probably the prettiest and best put together mtb I have seen in the flesh.

You are definitely still not feeling right, it is only Wednesday!

    LMAO

It takes much longer to recover the older you get, especially as your tolerance level is probably less and weed quality is better/stronger.

    You'll be fine 😉

Interesting this Ro. So you are there to give your expertise in the medical and 'systems' field, although the prominence of your name in the 'Who are we' section would suggest your involvment extends beyond that of a contractor. It's always nice to have a proper doctor on a the company bumph in this business area to add an air of respectability and gravitas, so I guess that is fair enough

With Ms Thuy M Do background it is heartwarming that she has used the knowledge and education gained in the USA to improve the lives of ordinary working people in her country of birth. However, I am struggling to work out how she maintains control of the employee pay in the spas she merely designs.

Ro, I had the distinct impression that you were in Vietnam primarily for altruistic (medical) reasons, re-inforced by your previous requests for bike donations.

The spa consultancy business is presumably just a sideline to keep the wolf from the door while you get on with 'good work' as presumably the only opportunity most locals would have of entering one of these establishments is as an employee to cater for the every whim of the rich clients?

Please feel free to put me right on this.

My Dads favourite when he dislikes something or someone is

"that gives my arse a nippy taste"

Not finding such an obvious and dangerous fault is inexusable, especially after you had told them twice that it was knocking. IMO the very least they should have do is repair it and knock off the labour charge.

    Very nasty indeed.

I've never seen anyone have the presence of mind and body awareness to immobilise their own c-spine. That is seriously impressive and he's a very lucky lad not to have been knocked out and someone else move him.

I wish him a speedy recovery.
