That chimp looks like he’s partial to ‘roids. He’s forking hench.

That was my first thought, then I realised he’s got virtually no hair!

If you can get buffed AND grow as impress a pair as that, forget the bike, I’m finding a tree!

Do you get the feeling of ‘missed beats’ any time other than during/after riding? I take it you were fine when you saw your GP and he/she didn’t do an ECG?

Contrary to what phinbob says, don’t take low dose aspirin as a ‘precaution’. If it’s bothering you a lot, go back to GP, especially if you have any shortness of breath, chest tightness or pain.

You know you’re not meant to inhale, just absorb from the mouth

If that’s true, why do all the forums/reviews all place huge importance on ‘throat hit’?

I agree with the comments above that it ‘may’ be less harmful from what we know at the moment and I can definitely feel an improvement in breathing when vaping. What really worries me is when you ‘advance’ to various mods and get high voltage/amps. Inhaling that level of vaporised juice can’t be doing you any good :?

I was gutted to have missed (don’t laugh) an immaculate FSH Alfa 156 2.0 Sportswagon with 65k at the weekend for £650

Plenty decent motors at that price and my Saab 9-5 estate is still going strong after 2 years of being an abused “workhorse”. Cost me £950 and repairs/servicing over the period of £550 and that included replacing a blown turbo!

I would tend to go for petrol unless there is very good history as repairs as pointed out ^^ can be painful.

Had similar question HERE and eventually went for the Acer Chromebook.

So cheap my missus and I ended up buying two (£200 each IIRC) and they are brilliant for the basic stuff we do. Battery life is fantastic and start-up is so quick I still can’t believe it’s ready almost as soon as I open the lid! Huge cloud storage also available.

Agreed. He’s already paid more tax than most of us will earn in our lifetime so I for one have absolutely no problem if he chooses to live elsewhere, for whatever reason.

Why pick on LH anway, it’s not like it is a new phenomenon as it has been common practice for as far back as I can remember for those in a position to do it. How about that rascal Mr Cavendish, how much tax does he pay?

I was specifically referring to him not giving a damn for the tax system in this country which is the way to put back into society fairly I.e. For the greater good by letting our elected government decide where to allocate funds.

Funniest thing I’ve read on here for ages

he’s not the person people think he is

I really only care about the racing aspect and I have never met him but you’ve got my interest. Care to elaborate?

3 or 4 years ago I’d have still gone with GA as GOAT but now I really couldn’t choose between them. No one brings the level of excitement that Rossi does. Marquez is a fantastic racer but time will tell + it’s a very different era now, like F1 and other sports where technology plays such a huge part, that if the best rider doesn’t have the best bike they are unlikely to win – unless it’s wet of course.
Stoner being an obvious exception

I don’t really think we do(right thinking people that don’t abuse the service). If it’s broke it’s because it’s not getting funded properly, not becasue we expect too much.

And therein lies just one of the myriad of problems. Funding of the ambulance service is one thing but it’s the cuts in other areas such as social services, mental health etc. which have a major impact on the workload of ambulance services and A&E. Public expectation has also changed dramatically over the last few years, as has the way GP’s work.

There is no easy solution and target led funding, together with fines for failing to meet targets only compounds and confuses the issue.

Glad I stumbled into this thread.

Happened to be passing the old buy opposite yesterday who was loading his car ready to go to the tip. All sorts of old tools, soldering irons, chisels etc. which he was happy for me to take and save him the journey. An hour later he turned up at my door asking if I wanted his old vice. Turns out its a Woden 186b/2 which I gather is a good make.

More impressive was he carried it down in one hand (he had a caravan towing winch in the other) from his garage 50 yards away ……….. he’s 96 in a couple of months !

I’d read the blog earlier. Couldn’t happen where I work but I am appalled at how this guy with 30 years service has been treated.

Zippykona – they sleep because they are absolute scum with no conscience!

My elderly parents have nearly been ripped off 3 times in the past year and I was able to involve the police one time while the asshole was still there demanding thousands for work that didn’t need done. Much to my disappointment he talked his way out of it or the police couldn’t be bothered pursuing it. Only consolation was he lost several tools in his rush to scarper.

Another time, they were going to be charged £650 to remove a couple of small bushes, a guy recommended by trailrat did it for £140 (cheers TR).

I sincerely hope anyone who picks on the vulnerable dies of something hideous……. slowly !

I found the ‘dog rocks’ to be ineffective. Tomato sauce seems to work a bit better. My 3 get it via pilchards in tomato sauce on top of their usual food, so hopefully fewer additives than bottled sauce but TBH I haven’t checked the label.

Royal Oak in Braithwaite is good, with a decent choice of beers/lagers. I liked the Blazing Saddles last visit and only a couple of miles from Keswick.

Seems stupid. The pharmacist has the discretion to sell you more than the restricted amount.

Didn’t know that and I would have used it the other day when refused trying to buy paracetamol and ibuprofen. Pharmacist wouldn’t budge, even when I offered my Paramedic registration card and reasoning behind buying both. 20 yard trip to the Spar and sorted.

Agree with danger as pointed out above though. I’ve actually had clueless parents giggling at their ‘silly’ daughter who took 100 paracetamol + over 10 hours before I got there. Not a good prognosis !

Enzo Ferrari thought the E-Type was the most beautiful car in the world

I’m sure Malocolm Sayer was flattered

Not keen on the rat look – for me it works on certain motorbikes and old american cars/pick-ups but not much else. Certainly not on a classic sports car. On second thoughts, I have an MGB GT rusting away on the drive…….

I think it’s fair to say that most some main dealers border on fraud with their charges and part replacements. My Father in Laws Land Rover dealer recently tried to charge him £40 for new wiper blades which he had changed himself the day before it went in for service. Not surprisingly he went nuts and they removed the cost.

It’ll cost them considerably more than that though, as he was seriously considering a new one but is now looking at alternatives!

Very surprised at that johndoh. I’ve had the 2.5 v6 in a Mondeo (my cougar was the 2.0 vtec) and it was a superb engine but never driven a Vectra. The Cougar big plus for me against a Puma was that it has a boot like a cave!

Still miss the old Ford Cougar. Mr Clarkson loved it and so did my Wife so there can’t really be any argument as to its greatness !

Even better would be this guy.Fantastic sense of humour, right background and he might even get some motorbikes introduced to the show. Producers would have to insist on a ‘no singing’ clause though!

As is Chasing Classic Cars show on freeview.

Good shout Hora. Was watching that this afternoon where a guy bought back a Ferrari he’d previously owned in the 70’s for around $950,000, then paid to have a full nut and bolt restoration which took around a year. The restorer/car locator (yes he is extremely dull) wanted to find another car to check parts/authenticity etc. – no problem, he flew him down to his ‘house’ by chopper to compare it with the other one he had in the garage 8O

RE JC – I feel he may have taking his method acting lessons a step too far but fair play for embracing the location and role so completely. Maybe the row wasn’t over food but that the producer failed to produce a few bottles of dog after filming!

Around £120-130 a corner so sort of mid priced tyre,

If that’s your idea of mid price I think you need to change where you buy your tyres!

The advances in design over the years mean that there are very few poor tyres and I’ve found even budget tyres can be very decent. I would go with whatever tyre offers the most important combination to you ie. grip, price etc. Fully fitted examples

Thanks MLC ????? More than my house is worth ‘up north’ !!

Of course the wages at 18pence p/hour might bring the cost down a bit

get over it, brag about it down the golf club, or sell it and wear a casio and buy carbon wheels.

That’s the thing ………. you either ‘get’ and appreciate watches or you don’t!

My last watch, which I would class as expensive, was a Breitling chrono which I bought from a jeweller mate. It was unique and made for him as he had sold so many. I loved wearing it around the house but only ever wore it to go out once, where it remained out of sight. Eventually sold it back to him but loved owning it.

Never kept one long enough to need servicing until now but thanks for the link as I have a nice Zeno and a Seiko that are long overdue some tlc.

Love my motorbikes and have been riding off and on since I was 16 ie. a long time!

Sold my last one 9 months ago and still miss it. Luckily, I have a mate who is happy to let me take his tweaked GSXR1000 out occasionally to scratch the itch and it’s fantastic.

As has been said above, life is too short to constantly worry about what ‘might’ happen otherwise we would never go past the front door. Get some proper training, build your confidence slowly and ride defensively. There is nothing quite like it ;)

I saw that one (and several others) after I’d bought a new glass for £2 off fleabay. Can’t bring myself to dig about with a blade as the cover won’t come off using the sucker alone.

The price of failure on a week old 5s would be high 8O

Only con to me would be reliability if buying over 3 years old.

Why is that, are you talking about the CRV or autos in general?

My Saab 9-5 is 15 years old and the auto box is smooth as silk! The only times I would have preferred a manual is occasionally when towing the caravan and in snow.

Cheers tr. MOT excuse seems reasonable but like you I’m very sceptical as to the real reason!

I might go and have a look at it but there is also a 4.0 Jeep Cherokee with LPG conversion which is dirt cheap and the owner has described the faults which need rectifying and obviously knows his stuff. It’s really down to whether I have enough time for the faffage which will undoubtedly come with buying either of them!

    Jeep is on Fleabay

Double sun visors. Already on my old Saab and a touch of genius on a windy road in low sun as you don’t need to constantly move a single visor from side window to windscreen. Good safety feature too!
