    Hi Rob,

I'm good ta, how about you – are you doing the Whiteways ride next Sun?

Wait until the summer – it can be very punishing even then!

I've only ever dealt with them by phone or online lately. I must say when I had my old series one heckler, I found them a little too precious at times. I have dealt with them in recent years for some forks, and most recently Swobo clothing, and I find them very good, service excellent. In a nutshell, from Sussex it isn't going to make any odds for me!

Toast is serious business indeed! 😉

Well, toaster number two – I went for the Breville Cafe Series at 85 quid, can't believe I've spent that on a toaster! I do prefer it over the Dualit asthetically, and the crumb tray and other oddments do appear better made than the Dualit imo. At 2400 watts it is almost double the power of my Kenwood, and the same if not slightly more that the Dualit. Anyway, a trial run and I'm delighted, it toasts the bread, leaving the inside slightly soft mmm!

I have a new (almost) Kenwood four slice toaster, stainless, looks the part, works as described and free to anyone who posted on this thread before this post – I don't think I can be @rsed to post it though!

    🙂

Ok, fessing up here – not that happy with my thirty quid kenwood. It cooks the toast so slow that it's through hardened and horrible.

Are the Dualit worth the money, and nickjb – is the Breville quick?

The problem I found when looking is, that they are all designed for pre-sliced standard Mothers Pride/Kingsmill type slices. I cut my own, Mansize of course! 😉

coffeeking – that's the same repair then, how silly of me you're so right, go play with your robotics!

FWIW – I bet it will end up at near my estimate with the materials and vat – the end price at any proper bodyshop.

pinches – how can you do that for 2-250 inc materials!

There's a 100 quid's worth of materials alone there; paint wing and door, remove door handle, mouldings, blend paint through the sill. I'd be making a basic living at 600! And I haven't even factored in the front wing mark!

Let us know hoe much it does cost in the end – I'll eat my hat if it's nearer the other two guesses than mine?

I've seen the past videos you used to post Simon! Bikes laying at the bottom of a river were not uncommon. You looked like you were having fun though.

Kestrels – cool, thanks capt – now I don't have to ask whoever I'm in the car with, every time I see that, I can be smug instead and tell them! 😉

4 1/2 years in on a Rohloff – it gets wet every ride and no probs!

I wouldn't be too concerned about Mr Barnes story, his idea of submersion is SUBMERSION literally, having a whole bike laying at the bottom of a fast running swollen river, after several attempts to ride, or see how far he can get across, which is fine if that's what he wants to do, but no bike component is designed to withstand that.

Just like if you watched a car rally, and a Subaru got totally submersed and stalled, couldn't restart and the gearbox filled with water – would you say the car was crap – I think not!

I'm just back from a weekend in the Quantocks, lost count of how many rivers and streams we went through literally.

Whilst the ornothologists are here, perhaps you could answer a simple question; what are the birds of prey that 'hover' mostly seen above motorways and big roads, as opposed to the one's that can't hover? Hope that makes sense, and no one mention helicoptors btw! 😉

    Sorry for slight hijack OP

Thanks again for showing us around sharki and buzz, and if you're ever in Sussex, east or west we'd be delighted to show you our stomping ground.

Is there anywhere else you could live, back at the parents doesn't sound like the safety net it could be?

Sleep is a big problem, try and worry about it less, your body will correct itself natuarally.

Cool! I'll probably be riding my Somerset Hardtail as can be seen here….

Personally, I think I'll give the night ride a miss, two days on the Q's will be satisfiying enough – I've ridden there, it's hilly! Plus, knowing our lot, especially the Zukemonster – when the first ale is supped, no one will be riding until the next day! 😉

    Looking forward to it….

    Ability is quite mixed btw

    Hi Buzz,

Sounds great, I think we should aim for a 10.30 start Sunday, which is when the group normally meets, we'll just ride with hangovers for the morning – as usual for some! How does that sound to you? I'll put it forward to folk on the night ride tomorrow, but can't see any probs to be honest. If we're being sensible and are up bright and early we COULD ride up.

Thanks for guiding, if you're free Sat eve, more than welcome to join us for a beverage or two…

Wooded singletrack rides at Brightonmtb.org, they meet Thursday at 7 if you have lights – Sussex Uni car park on the A27 at Falmer.

Sussex mtb are Worthing based I think, they ride the above area too I think.

trailmonkey, you can't be that close to not know if your friend is aware he has a child! I don't know if it's the right thing either to deny that child contact with it's father – the child will know some day, and be resentful, as will be the father. I wouldn't want a friend like that!!
