I'll definately get some P2 forks for it, if I get it.

A bit more info – it's 96/97 and had the P2 forks swapped out for 'Ballistic' from almost new according to the owner. Otherwise sounds as you describe.

I must say I'm leaning towards a Wingnut, the two people I know that use them, love em! They do look a bit flimsy in the flesh though so to speak, which is a concern.

Howie's merino seems to be much more durable through the wash IME. Swobo make some lovely cycling tops, but can suffer on thorny bushes etc.

Caddy would be my choice as I don't do camping. 4k would be tight though.

There is a place in Shoreham/Worthing IIRC – don't know the name. Google or more likely local yellow pages should reveal. They're not bike specific but do bikes. I could do it in car paint but it wouldn't be as durable.

The Rose and Crown at Nether Stowey is a good B&B, decent rooms and bike washing facilities, price ok too – stayed there a couple of weekends ago.
