I'll definately get some P2 forks for it, if I get it.

A bit more info – it's 96/97 and had the P2 forks swapped out for 'Ballistic' from almost new according to the owner. Otherwise sounds as you describe.

Z1ppy – you don't want those, you want these http://www.lakecycling.com/mxz302-p-111.html
I have the mens albeit the previous year model, they're excellent but pricey!

I'm sure there are others, Northwave make womens winter boots I'm sure, at about half the price.

Mine would be more eco – local oak, and hand made.

Why Dakine – style or function? 🙂

Oh, that's a bit of a negative – no tool pockets for the Wingnut.

back to the drawing board hmm

Dez, just buy a load of those carbon effect patches for cable rub, and cover your frame in them – job done!

    Ahem…….IGMC

I must say I'm leaning towards a Wingnut, the two people I know that use them, love em! They do look a bit flimsy in the flesh though so to speak, which is a concern.

No HARD fried eggs in the breakfast – why do B&B's everywhere serve hard fried eggs, it's not difficult to cook an egg even if it is for a group!

Why don't you sent the precedent and let rip yourself?

Howie's merino seems to be much more durable through the wash IME. Swobo make some lovely cycling tops, but can suffer on thorny bushes etc.

Caddy would be my choice as I don't do camping. 4k would be tight though.

Thanks 'sss', I do remember that Solitude, although it wasn't the frame I was initially thinking of. Looks real nice and just my size too…what a coincedence!

That's an interesting looking frame Bob – can you put up a full pic. Sadly, I think I recognise it from a frame builders website some time ago!?

There is a place in Shoreham/Worthing IIRC – don't know the name. Google or more likely local yellow pages should reveal. They're not bike specific but do bikes. I could do it in car paint but it wouldn't be as durable.

7 every Thurs, a trundle through the singletrack at Stanmer until 9 usually – no open downs riding.

Lifer – yes the very same! And you are… 🙂

Mark, you're looking a bit like the guy from the 'New Avengers' (not the curly haired one or the old bloke) in the walking down the stairs pic! 😉

It was fine last night – no sabbotage noted!

I might make it tonight too, if it's still dry in Brighton by 6.30, is my plan. Pi$$ing it down here in Horsham!

Wear waterproof socks for all the stream crossings!

The Rose and Crown at Nether Stowey is a good B&B, decent rooms and bike washing facilities, price ok too – stayed there a couple of weekends ago.

I hope he keeps up the steel too, it doesn't sound like it though. I love the 'ornamental' aspect of that work.

Same as said, I wouldn't risk 2.5 on a Ti, or any frame costing that tbh!

I'm on his 'expressed an interest list' for a steely, not sure I'll hear anything now…
