Yep, get a shed, if you've a garden.

I know what you mean OP, having not actually lived there, but always close-ish. It's a great place with something interesting happening every day, a bit of an adults play ground – it can wear a bit thin though, and damage your finances in the process!

All round good, as long as you look beyond the trashy pier stalls and West Street chavonista establishments………

I didn't use a file at all. After I'd hacksawed leaving plenty of waste, I then teased most of the material off using an angle grinder – leaving just a small amount of brass (braze) proud, knowing that I hadn't gone down to the tube. Some masking tape around the tube is a good indicator, I tried to work leaving this intact, again knowing that would ensure I hadn't gone down too far. I then used an orbital (D.A) paint sander, with a 120 grit disc, and sanded off the braze. That was the metal work done. Etch prime and paint then.

    I've done something similar:

Thankyou 'allthepies' – I was starting to question my own mind there. I used to live, and still work in Horley, Surrey and I often have to confirm – it's the Surrey Horley, on the phone, prior to spelling it out.

Are you sure 'Hawley'is in Surrey!? There is a 'Horley' in Surrey but I can't imagine any bike races taking place there – off road!

Small block 8's – lot's of trouble anywhere in the UK, off road this time of year. I would say.

I think if you're gonna go Jones then you've got to go for the full 'pram' fork. It looks fairly compact, what sort of lenth is the top tube, is it a custom??

Grantway, I'm now 'LOL' at your quote of my post – I've obviously been far too subtle, and you've completely missed my point! 🙂

I'm sure someone will add some features to the lower section in time, personally I've always found BKB overated, we used to do the gulley descent that runs parralel to it, back in the day when disc brakes were only on motorcycles and cars!

With the speed held after the big berms, and the straights that follow, I think the trail will lend itself to some small jumps to pop off!

A few, not close friends but people I knew – all men. Whilst I haven't been there myself, I do empathise with them but, it is in most cases selfish IMO – trying to hurt others and make them feel your hurt,is how I see it, except those with incurable medical conditons, or clincal mental health problems.

I know what it feels like – I think in part, Bananaworld if you have a childhood picture of yourself, sort of 5 years old, just look at that when you have those feelings – you'll be letting that child down if you go through with it!

    Peace, and respect yourself.

The cable ties and routing let it down a bit – looks a bit messy compared to the rest of the bike. What size frame is that and what sort of height are you – if you don't mind?

Did it yesterday. They've done a great job of keeping the trail well drained and almost completely dry. It's fast and non-technical, personally I'll only use it to connect Holmbury to Peaslake as I'm heading over to Pitch tbh.

I tend to find that Torx are used for small appications in the motor industry, interior plastic fittings for example, although that may well not be the case in the latest cars. Torx wasn't around when I was a pre-prototype engineer so can't say which is actually stronger, just from my experience of taking my Rohloff wheel to a LBS for a new rim – they rounded the T20 Torx on the hub axle plate, and hack sawed the thing off! When I questioned them, they produced a foldable trail type tool, which they used to TRY and remove the Torx – in that case an Allen key would have prevented the disaster. I showed them the Snap-on catalogue as, 'this is the type of tool you need'and refused to pay for a new axle plate. I use a quarter inch drive, ratchet screwdriver with a Snap-on Torx socket! (You couldn't put more that 15nM through it)

This is def a 96, pretty sure threaded. Pebble, I'll know in a week or so if I'm getting the Kona, maybe sooner, if you're in no rush to move the stuff on. The forks sound spot on, so a provisional yes on that – I'll drop you a mail too.

    Cheers

After wasting money on a pair of Gore 'waterproof' gloves I'm in the market for the same. Warm and soft is more important than waterproof, for me I've discovered.

I'm not sure – I would say it is more difficult to overtighten a Torx. They are generally used on smaller bolt heads in the motor trade anyway.
