    Its actually a FT7 (sorry)
The screen on the spinning bike used to display programs to follow (similar to pic below), you entered a workout time then followed the program on the screen which told you where to keep your HR.

Could you get something like this on your phone?
    Hope that makes more sense.

I had the same issue with a pals XTR Race lever a few back, started to stick before a ride then free’d off once it had ‘warmed up’. This happened a couple of times before sticking in for good!
I removed the lever blade, circlip, plunger and hose then had to press the piston out with a drift through the hole to the hose.
Inside the lever was scuffed / scored, even when polished up the piston (with seals removed) was still tight in lever.
Couldn’t see any damage to the piston, my thought was that the lever was slightly bent? I ended up maching the center part of the piston in the lathe, removed about .01mm
Reassembled it all and bled it up and it worked a treat.
To be honest it was bin fodder and a new lever needed, but i just wanted to try and get working again.

    Where’s the bridleway on Scafell?

It’s the other Scafell out towards Hesket Newmarket.

    Great Sca fell
Part of the Uldale Fells (a few miles north of Skiddaw House), its about 2.5 mile I’d say, claimed to be the longest natural downhill trail in the UK??
Its pretty much all on grass, if your local to it its worth a bash, can tie it in to a few routes, nothing to write home about though.

Looks like that’s a yes for the Black Chili then.
I’ve ran the standard mountain kings for a good few year in the Lakes, I gashed a side wall but stitched that up and its lasted a good 18 month, run them at 20 / 22 psi (tubed) and honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about them … looking forward to getting some Black Chili ones on.

    Cheers Guys

I was on your side, I was pointing out that you weren’t asking anything for free. But hey ho.

    Sorry pal, no offence meant

Definitely not looking for anything for free, I was hoping that there’d be someone on here who’d be interested in doing it as a job on the side, a few hours on an evening for abit of cash in their pocket, and in the hope it’d be cheaper than approaching someone who runs a business.
I know folk who run a business need to earn a living and aren’t gonna do it for next to nothing, but I’m not really in the position to be spending £150+ for a logo for a small Facebook page, if I was looking to go into business full time, then yes, I’d be willing to pay that kind of money.
Cheers to the few folk that have been in touch / shared info.

Now you’ve done it. Standby for videos of ‘people’ discussing doing design work for free.

and fancy earning a bit of cash ??

Not sure what those comments are about, never asked for anything for free, but hey, if you feel you want to get something off your chest then feel free.

Going off the max altitude on the site it looks like the first day is up over Askham Fell / High Street then down towards Windermere. Just a guess on the second day, but maybe incorporates some of the Borrowdale Bash? High Seat near Watendlath. Third day is up Skiddaw, but looking at the altitude profile of the route it doesn’t just seem to go up then back down, so dunno where they’re sending you.
I’m still not sure how its gonna work with 200 folk folling the same route on the longest weekend in the Lakes … be interesting to find out.

I was in Costa Teguise at the back end of 2014, I hired a bike from Evolution and went on a 1/2 day guided off road ride with Mick from BuenoBike, cracking day, really good trails and good crack.
    Definitely recommend it.

Got a new shape XTR, can fit 2 complete bikes in the back no probs (with the seats out) and still have plenty room for kit.
To be fair, it does look like a mobility bus but its a proper handy vehicle … just shy of 50mpg ave as well.

Rode the Bash earlier today (inc Walla Crag) all fine and ridable, few more deep ruts here and there and a bit more water about than usual, temporary wooden bridge is finished and open.
Was at Skiddaw House last weekend, still all rideable, bit of a landslide after Lonscale but still passable.

I’ve got 1/2 a roll of Tyvek wrap from my shed build, if that’d be any use?
So … put some celotex type stuff between the joists then use the Tyvek wrap to go between that and whatever board I use?
Worth stuffing the edges with the soft / insulation stuff?

    Cheers

Definitely worth doing the Corpse Road but Mosedale is a boggy mess so avoid that. Instead, from the top of Gatesgarth make a 90 degree turn and go over Branstree, Pillar and Selside Pike and that drops you pretty much onto the start of the Old Corpse Road descent.

That’s the route I walked with the mrs earlier in the year, it was fair old slog by the fence up to Branstree, I can’t mind the rest of standing out as looking good to ride, it wasn’t the nicest of days though.
I’ll just have to wait for a dry spell sometime and give the mosedale / swindale head / corpse road a try
Whats the footpath like over Harter fell?

That’d be the one, I’ve walked some of the Old Corpse Road and that didn’t seem bad from what I can remember.
    Not worth the bother then?

I made something similar last year from a Titec Scoper telescopic seatpost. Put a keyway in the back to keep the tophalf inline, robbed a spring loaded button thingy from am old crutch, drilled a couple of holes for min and max then fitted a spring to help it raise back up. Still got a clamp to secure the tophalf but when on a ride where you’ll use it just crack it off and it locates on the ‘crutch button’.
Far from petfect but worked fine over this last 12 month, plus it didnt cost a great deal.
Would still quite like a Stealth Reverb though.

@mudsoul: I actually ordered a pair earlier on, have used some old Xeno/Hardknox pads for years (about 18!) but stopped wearing them a while back as they’d seen better days, I don’t expect these to offer the same protection, but they should be a lot more comfy, plus they’ll be better than no pads !
I read that lab test aswell, I think they’re worth a shot …hopefully won’t need to test them!

Anyone used the Bliss ARG Minimalist Knee Pads ?? I like the idea behind them but not sure what they’d be like in an impact.

Absolute cracking deal, I know its not exactly Park quality, but even at full price they aren’t bad … but with 50% off you can’t go wrong. Had no problem at all getting over £200, it’ll go in the new garage nicely.

I couldn’t get away with riding on the drops, comfy on the hoods but then wasn’t confident with braking.
Got some cheap ‘Bullhorn’ bars and modified them to fit the STi units.

Is the Edge 200 ok for a budget GPS ?
Any idea if it would be the same model / version that’s being sold on CRC / Wiggle etc … RRP £110? Or is it an older / basic version ?

    Cheers

They said during the course that no one had access to the lists of who has attended a course, so insurance companies will only know if you tell them. they also said that 1 or 2 companies actually give you a small discount for attending them.

I went on a Speed Awareness course just last week, was local to me so no issues with travel costs, had to put a holiday day in for a day off work.
I actually thought it was quite good, a good refresher on basic things, you’ll be surprised how much you forget after passing your test.
£86 for the course or £90 fine and 3 points, I’d rather keep a clean licence.

3 passes loop – Langdale -> Rosset Pike -> Esk Hause -> Styhead -> Stake Pass back into Langdale. I also fancy a crack at riding down Rosset Gill, which looks like it might 75% doable on a good day and 99% death on a stick on anything else.

We rode a similar route yesterday, Seathwaite upto Styhead Tarn, across to Angle Tarn, down Rosset Pike towards Mickleden then back up and over Stake Pass to Stonethwaite.
Probly 50/50 push/ride, still a good day out though. As for riding down Rosset Pike … we got a few funny looks when we were sat at the top waiting to attempt the ride down, I’d say we rode about 65/70% of it, I’m sure its possible to ride more but some of it was way to sketchy looking for any one of us to attempt.

Stayed in Cala en Bosc a couple of year ago, hired a 29er Trek from http://www.e-bigfoot.com/es/menorca/
Rode a bit of the ‘cami de cavalls’ which is a trail that runs most the way around the island, a good mix of everything really, wish I could’ve rode more.

I had an issue with some just before Christmas (I posted on here about it), mine came from CRC, I returned them and got a full refund, I also contacted Schwalbe UK to see if it they had been from a bad batch or if I was just unlucky, it took about a week but I finally got a reply from a guy called Will ( willb@schwalbe.co.uk ) he said I’d been unlucky with them, and if I ended up with another pair in the future and lost a few spikes then he’d be happy to send me some replacement spikes.
    Hope you get something sorted.

I had the issue with loosing loads of spikes after one ride, I ran them in for about 40km on the road at about 15 psi, then ran them offroad at at 30psi. Awesome tyre, just lost abit of confidence with the longevity of them.

Full refund given by CRC, so can’t grumble really. No word from CRC or Schwalbe if there was a problem with them or if I was just unlucky.
Any alternatives to Ice Spiker Pro’s ?

To the guys who run Berlingo’s / Partner’s, what kind of MPG are you getting, they quote around 53mpg average, is this achievable or is it way off ?
Currently looking at them but would want at least 50+mpg to make it worthwhile.

    Cheers

Been thinking of down sizing from my Tranny van to a Partner Tepee myself, thinking about an Partner Tepee Outdoor 112 (2011), on paper they quote about 53mpg. What kinda mpg are folk getting around town / long runs.

    Cheers

Had a reply from CRC mid week, and after a couple of emails and some pics, they’ve asked for them to be returned so they can forward them onto Schwalbe UK for inspection. So atleast they don’t seem to have an issue with them being purchased over 12 month ago, just have to wait and see what Schwalbe say.
