It’s difficult, but achievable. (especially if you’re 6 month extension is a definite – check that).

I’m due to finish at end Sept, and don’t have very much time for anything else apart from full time consultantcy work and finishing the write up at home.

Not been biking properly for months. Given up booze too.

In the library today sorting out a few references etc.

haha front hose, after the little lower leg clip it’s meant to go straight down on the inside of the fork leg to the top of the caliper.

Yeah would be great to see someone like Roy or Boogen-hasen to Hoogerland to make a break and get away with it.

any of the above, just change the tyres and pump up the shocks a bit for racing

Does a hard life make you uglier?

Quite often I see some wretched chav girl, looking pale, underfed, and a bit strung out, and think if only she wasn’t so rough she’d be quite hot.

Despite being really pretty narrow Sauserwinds are ok in the mud. I was at Margam on the xc course last friday, it was wet, but they held up surprisingly well.

Not have as good as a bonty mud-x though.

As i’ve run various specialised tyres tubeless, it really is much much easier with a compressor – even a home made one. Works well for me

I would really like to do one. But having to make (or buy) a map board does put me off a bit.

    24p/kWhr !!!!!!

That is outrageous. I was anticipating about 15-16p/kWhr. I think there is a lot of variation between companies offering prepayment rates.

I have had a little look on some power company websites, lots of pages but little information.

Tiree is amazing. Cycle lap is ok but there are nicer things to do. Walk by Hynish and headland is pretty good.

    Great views to skerryvore lighthouse

You need to lube the freehub contact parts lightly with a light lube like Finish Line wetlube (green one). Make sure not to loose the little washer when you reassemble.

My mate had a similar problem as he reassembled with grease rather than lube.

Worth doing this fairly regularly as it’ll increase the life of your wheels.
(I’ve just had to down grade from crossmax sls after a few years of hard use on a 2007 pair).

One of our team’s laps didn’t get logged meaning that we lost a lap and one lap was measured at over 2hrs. Also we would have got a podium if it had been counted.

I thought that perhaps one of my laps hadn’t been counted as I didn’t get off my bike quick enough through transition?

I had a shot of bellerophon’s Halterburn route yesterday afternoon. Managed to get totally lost somewhere near Eldonburn and eventually had to bail out via the road to get back to the car! Couldn’t find the st cuthberts way route heading West from Eldonburn despite having compass and map. Good ride though!

+1 for the Eildons. Start in the village of Bowden, head over the common and then up through the woods (at the first farm track cross into the wood and go along for 200m rather than up the steps). You can do a nice 2/3 hours up there, although the biggest eildon is a bit steep.

Also as belleronphon says the cheviots. Pretty big hills and utterly deserted.

The one and only time I’ve cycled in London I saw Boris on his bike in the southbank/gla area.

Felt like I’d lost my london cycling virginity.

Margam park just round the corner from afan, loads of trails you’ll just have to find them first.

There are environmental impacts in providing both the clean water to flush and the sewage plants to process the dirty water.

Using clean water to flush is a bit stupid but that’s what most homes and businesses do.

There are obviously cost savings for McD’s as well.

….is a pain in the rear.

Make sure that the lever reach adjust is dialled right out before you start. Adjusted by a small allen key on the inside of the level.

    Thats interesting from Bentos.

The stuff I had was almost undrinkable but I probably would try it again, but mainly cos the distillery is just up the road from where I live.

It’ll always do well if just for novelty of being the only welsh whisky.
