IME the insurance companies will go 50/50.

About 7 years ago I was driving along a main road (about 20 in a 30 limit, traffic was busy) when a van pulled out from a road on the left, we collided my front left to his front right corners.

He swore blind that I was indicating. I know I wasn’t.

Insurance co’s went knock for knock.

I’ve been running a Mk1 Bazingo (the dark coloured frame with yellow Suntor forks) for the past 2/3 years and think it’s ace.

Am toying with selling it but not sure there’d be all that much interest.

Like Cuyahoga (above) IME the only limiting factor is the rider, not the bike :?.

    +1 for Robert Welch.

Also get a RW pull through sharpener thingy and give your blade a couple of strokes through it on a fairly regular basis. We’ve had 3 RW knives for 4o 5 years now and they’re very good.

…and store them on a magnet strip and don’t even think about putting them in a dishwasher*.

*Mrs Wombat is a kitchen knife specialist with a fancy kitchen equipment supplier and this would be her recommendation.

FWIW, I still really like the original Sabatier set that I’ve had for 30 years but they were made before the brand was sold and quality took a dive.

Good point re BB height, it’s 330mm to the centre of the BB but as I’m running it as a half fat 29+ with 3″ tyres it does make it quite tall.

I have a Parkrun barcode wristband that has an ICE number on it.

At £13.98 inc postage I found this was the most cost effective way to have a emergency contact details about my person, particularly as when I’m running I don’t tend to carry anything other than a front door or car key.

    Edit.

If I’m on my bike I’ll have my wallet with me so have a home-made ICE card in there.

If they’re wet and smelly, put a tea bag in each shoe and leave it over night. Odourless by the morning.

I find that Lapsing ShoePong is the best sort to use

Store your shoes with a couple of unused teabags inside each one.

This appears to prevent Wombat Jr’s football boots from becoming a biohazard. If it works on them then it’ll work on anything…

IME it will weather and silver pretty much whatever you do and the only way to slow the process is to cover it entirely with something that prevents uv light getting to it, a sign for example.
Cedar does contain a lot of naturally occurring oils that do a very good job of preventing paints/stains/treatments sticking to it.
IMO just accept that it will go silver, if you really want it to stay the same colour as when it is installed your best bet is to use an alternative product.

FWIW I know of a cedar clad building that is 16 years old and the cladding is still in excellent condition even though it has had no treatment or repairs since it was installed.

    About 90 minutes.

I did go to the shops between pressing the on button and opening STW though, does this still count?

    Round my way there’s

Sutton Bank (as featured in the TDY 2016)

    Just along the road there’s White Horse Bank, from Kilburn up to the gliding airfield;

Not forgetting Kepwick Bank from Kepwick village up onto the Cleveland Way

    We’ve got 2 from Multiyork.

They’re 20 years old, done 3 house moves, been slumped on almost continuously by 2 (now) teenagers, they’re just about ready for a couple of new seat cushions on 1 of them and new set of covers on both.

    Not cheap but excellent quality.

My parents have a 2 Multiyork ones that they bought in the (very) early 80s and they’re still going strong with a set of replacement covers about 7 years ago (the sofas, not my parents).

IME DFS ones are only just fit for firewood.

Is there some way of making fingers bigger/fatter

my wedding band fits fine on one ring finger and won’t go over the knuckle of the other where I had it smashed up in a goalkeeping injury.

(You didn’t ask how easy or painless it was)

Apparently my friend doesn’t have a knuckle where they’re wanting to “adjust the sizing”…..

If there is, can the technique be used elsewhere?

Thanks Nairnster, that does make sense.

Have measured my V8s and the usable surface is 93 by 93mm but they do curve away at the front and back, a more rounded shape. My sons do overhang the sides of the pedal surface by 3/4 mm unless I have the inner edge up against the crank arm so that extra few mm sounds good to me

Will measure my V8s for comparison.

That’s true but ironically whilst it does make towels less absorbent (apparently indefinitely, no matter how many times they’re washed) it absolutely doesn’t make duvet covers repel tea…not even a little bit.

A pound per brick!!!! I’ve now got this vision in my head of a wages clerk going round in his/her business suit counting the bricks laid in a wall

That’s the QS does that, not the Wages Clerk
