I don't think you have any right to part time working.

The best way would be to speak to your manager and, if possible, provide a couple of advantages to the company of you working fewer days (probably best not to mention the other job though)

If you reduce your rear tyre pressure by about 1.5 psi as soon as the slide starts that should help bring the back end in line a bit :-)

Miele are the best, we've had ours for about 5 years now, Mrs Wombat tells me that it gets a lot of use, and it's still good as new.

AFAIK if you are required to work from home the company has the same responsibilities for your H&S and they do if you're in their office. They should provide you with anything (within reason) which you need to carry out your job in a safe manner (chairs, computer kit etc).

Of course, if you're a forklift truck driver or a lumberjack this could be a bit meaningless :-)

I have a copy of The Beatles Hard Days Night album that used to belong to Nigel Havers (it has his name and address on a sticker on the front of the album cover).

I used to have his old table football table too.

our newest neighbours are a young couple

not met them and only see the guy

they seem fine, but sex is an endurance event for them that the girl commentates on for us- and the rest of the street
"oh **** yeah **** me harder there oowwww yeeaahhh im commin im commin"

at the top of her lungs for a 30 mins at least anytime between 11pm and 2am

was funny at first now its just getting on our tits!

Wait until they just get started and go ring their doorbell & see what happens. :D

tried so very hard and simply could not manage it; to the point of our first child going hungry! Dreadful bloody time, all the pro-feeding lobby telling her how easy it was, assistance etc etc did no good (The videos were worth a watch…!) The result was a very unhappy Mrs.T. I guess, and that's all it is, that like us, your friends are being bombarded with the old 'earth mother ship' 'bay of plenty stuff' and may feel upset by it/unable to do it! We've had to go over to formula on both occasions and to be frank its broken my wife's heart – there's a lot of pressure to breast feed these days.

We had a very similar experience, all OK now several years down the line but very very difficult and emotional at the time. Each to their own I say but with support (NOT preaching/bullying) available should it be required

I've got a 2D cell Maglite, you don't need anything bigger, plenty of light (for a non LED torch), not too heavy, can be slipped into a pocket easily.

The 3 or 4 cell D maglites are too big & heavy IMO

I think that they still seem to be a good deal for £100. We just think they're a ripoff because we know where to get them much cheaper.

It's not your fault you had to spell out in large letters what any normal person would have inferred from the invitation. No faux pas there :-)

My parents have an 03 plate 2.0 HDI Berlingo. I think it's ace.

Big inside, costs buttons to run (well over 50 mpg) goes much more quickly that other road users expect

I've borrowed it a few times for biking trips, if I could persuade Mrs Wombat I'd have one like a shot (she wants an Audi/Volvo) the new shape ones look really smart too.

I think it's out of order for people to just assume that children are invited everywhere the parent are.

We've got 2 children (10 & 7) and always make it clear when we're inviting people round (whether or not they have children) if it will be a grown up evening or not (deliberately not saying adult as that implies an entirely different sort of party  )

We'd assume that any evening invitation was for adults unless childres were specifically invited.

I don't want to sound like a complete killjoy, I love partys/events/barbecues/days out with children, they're usually hugely fun but there is a need for grown up time.

    Happy Birthday.

I turned 40 a month ago, the run up to it was the worst part. I'm cool with it now.

IIRC the worst bit about the whole thing was people making silly comments about becoming 40 (oh, and being made to wear a "40 Today" badge by Mrs Wombat).
