+1 for Miele, we've had ours for 3 years and it's brilliant, cleans well and is very quiet

I've suggested it twice so far where I work and have organised a number of folks from other UK offices to do the same, still no joy.

I'm told it's too much admin to be worth doing, yeah right…. :?

I think AndyCS has a point – Stannard's option on clause 17b of the '75 rules specifically allows overland velocipede access to Euston without incurring the nib.

That is correct ONLY if you are playing Brompton's Venturi Variant

The OP is correct, going via Euston would put him in Nib.

You could use Turings Variation and try a reverse entry through Blackfriars

I think it's Train to Gain. If so they are a recognised provider of modern apprenticeship type training, to 16-19 year olds typically.

Train to Gain is backed by central government (I think) and are targeted with keeping the young NEETs of the unemployment figures by giving them training.

Bugger! Back to plan A. I'll keep my T5 and replace it with a LWB 4-motion in a couple of years.

Whatever the mileage or condition of your T5 it will be a far better vehicle than a Santa Fe.

I drove on a couple of weeks ago. It was a truly dismal experience.

Interior plastics that wouldn't be acceptable to Fisher Price, handled like a cow on castors, poor visibility, noisy, slow (or at least felt like it) apalling ride quality, I could go on.

    Nice colour though…

When I was about 13 a mate and I found a large carrier bag of pron…

Ah, the good old days of byway bongo. Footpath filth. Lovingly dried out on in secret, before being used as a very high value trade at school. We need to bring it back, people! Think of it, kids today are all fwapping away on their iFwaps, looking at midget-goat-pron. Let's be honest, a glimpse of a bit of scut in a hedgerow is far better for them!

CF, Sounds as though we went to the same school

Hitch, as there's 4 of you make ait a race, start in different places and see who gets there first. I used to do this with a couple of mates back in the 80s, was a good laugh

Got to you local main dealer and give them about £35 having produced about 30 pieces of random (but allegedly essential) identification they will probably be able to order you a new one if it's a manufacturers suppliet locking nut

FWIW I just traded in an 06 Diesel Focus with 90k miles on the clock (all mine) and it still had the original discs & pads on all round (and it passed an MOT 3 months ago at +/- 85k on.

Mind you, about 75% of the 90k miles were on motorways which doesn't really cause brake wear if you look ahead far enough

I picked up a Mazda 6 Sport 2.2d 185 bhp hatchback last friday.

1 week in and so far it's bloomin brilliant, can fit 2 complete bikes in with the seats down, have given it a rather brick week of driving, discovered it goes like stink and got 46.5 mpg

I looked at the V50 2.0D R Design and chose the Mazda as IMO it's quicker, more comfy, more fun to drive has 6 disc Bose, bluetooth etc etc AND the boot is about the same size.

+1 for the Mazda 6 (I looked at the estate, also brilliant but don't really need that much space).

Get a traditinonal typr condensing boiler, NOT a Combi and keep the water tank.

The tank does take up a bit of space but if you have a tank you can shower and run a washing machine and a dishwasher and flush the lavatory at the same time, combis, unless they're considerably over specified for the nominal load of the house tend to suffer from spiking in water temperature if multiple water outlets are used sinumtaneously.

If the system is set up and controlled correctly there's minimal additional running costs for the condensing boiner & hot water tank setup. This is what I did 5 years or so ago and have never loked back. Mu last house had a Worcester Bosch combi and it was an absolute nightmare.

Just the two children, Mrs W won't entertain the thought of a Skoda or It'd be the Octavia Vrs diesel hatch for me

Then you need to have a stiff word with her. The Octavia is a lot of car for the money.

I know and am working on it, the only sticking point really is the interior, she thinks it's a bit plasticky (I agree a bit with this) but the VRS is a superb motor and I could get on 58/09 plate on for my budget

TBH I'd prefer a Legacy Estate or V70 but my head says that for most of the time they'd be more car than I'd really need.

Have abandoned the Alfa 159 Sportwagon idea as, being a bit tall, there's no room in the back seat for the children when I have the driver's seeat in the right place for me.

Go for it, they're great. I'm on my 3rd one at the moment. I have an 06 plate 2.0d with 90k on the clock (all my miles) I can easily get 50+mpg & it'll go like stink if you want
