    That Dengel 504 is brilliant.

I took (and passed) my driving test in a 504 Familiale, the 7 seat estate version.

It looked a little out of place in the test centre carpark next to a load of BSM Mini Metros (this was the 1908s) but raised a slight smile from the examiner when he asked me which one was my car.

Buy a 2nd hand one for a few hundred quid..
Sell it when you get your new one.
It’s unlikely to cost you more that £50 in depreciation ans you can roll over the insurance from you old one and new one.

+1 for the Krampus/Rabbit Hole combo.

Mine are still straight and true despite my somewhat agricultural riding style.

OK, to wade in without full information in the traditional STW way… ;-)

It could be interpreted that OP was going to sleep off a couple of drinks in their car in a carpark.

Carpark attendant tells OP he can’t sleep in his car.

    Discussion follows.

OP leaves car and sets off walking (complete with car keys).

Carpark attendant rings police with description, police pick up OP, complete with car keys, and asks him to blow into this please sir.

OP (in the eyes of the law) is drunk in charge, does seem more that somewhat harsh to me though.

A mate of mine is a professional, he took some pictures of my bike whilst we were having a break during a ride a couple of weeks ago.

They were decidedly mediocre and I told him I thought they were a bit crap.

He, quite rightly, pointed out that he was a professional chef with little interest in photography so what did I expect….. :-D

I have one sitting in the garage, its not the current model, its the one before (dark frame with yellow Suntor forks).

It feels very nimble and light in comparison to my (admittedly slightly beefier) Krampus.

I’d certainly be vary happy with another one.

I don’t think you can do much better for the money.

Has everyone run out of Quality Street and Roses already?

Surely those are the breakfast of choice this time of year?

@thegeneralist, I stand corrected, I was thinking of Alex Honnold (still well worth a watch though)

Wombat Jr and I are going to see it on Wednesday, looks ace.

The film of his expedition up mount Ulvetanna is worth a look too, as are any of his films with Cedar Wright.

Back in my gigging days I would drive to gigs and take our drummer, his drum kit (bass, 2x floor tomtoms, 1x snare, 2 small drums for on top of the base, 6 cymbals, all associated stands, his stool and a roll of carpet for him to setup on), my bass guitar, a 100w Marshall bass amp/speaker combo, our PA amp, 2x pa speaker & stands.

    In my Fiat Panda

To be fair, even if their tyres were scuffing the kerb that car is much too wide for that parking bay.

    FTFY ;-)

I can’t really add much to the posts above other than to say that my Krampus (Moonlight Swamp, XL) is absolutely brilliant.

Have had it for a couple of years now and It’s the first bike I’ve had that I’d not consider parting with.

Rides like a big BMX on the downs 😃

some of these I’m not sure if people are phonetically typing the mistakes they have heard, or what it should be….

bike related, is my Thule rack a thool, or a thoolee?

It’s Toolee, named after the tribe which inhabits (inhabited) the north of what is now Canada

I spent a few minutes talking to a friend’s wife who kept pronouncing Giant not as Giant as in very large but as Jeean, like an extended Jean Michell Jarre.

    She isn’t French.

I am working to get this new pronunciation accepted more widely

    Thanks for the replies.

I decided to follow both suggestions and have fitted a new rotor to the front and kept the old one on the rear (although I may well change the rear one next time I remove the back wheel)

You can still probably get the X-34 although they just aren’t in demand since the XP-38 came out

Looking for a slightly larger screen than my Sony Z5 Compact and this looks ideal, (Unless anyone can point me in the direction of some varifocal screen protectors for the Z5…..)

Mrs Wombat works at a High St seller of vaccuum cleaners (amongst other things) she recommends G-Tech for cordless or Miele (albeit a bagged version) for corded.

FWIW we have a Miele which has been going strong for 12 years now and it still sucks as hard as you like…..

Stayed at the Darwin Forest Country Park in the Peak District a few years back, was excellent, might be worth a look.

National Coal Mining Museum near Huddersfield is also good for a visit

Attach the smallest padlock possible to one of the passenger side wheels (ideally with the lock bit on the inside of the sheet).

It’ll shake like mad when he gets going and will be a swine to get off (if/when he finds )

    The Wiz 20 looks good.

I’ve been dithering recently over whether to buy a Wiz – XP3. a bit spendier (£150 ish) but looks really good.
