    Rubiks Cube party.

Everyone wears clothing in the colours you find on a Rubiks Cube, you then have to swap clothing throughout the party until you're wearing all one colour…..

I saw a 10 reg Scirocco in Ambleside yesterday with a set of roof bars fitted and a bike carrier (and bike) on them, couldn't see what sort they were but looked OK

Oh well, if it's those ones then you're probably about right there CF…if it was these then you want a bit more off

I'd leave a bit more than that on for general riding…

wrap your head in cling film – much better aerodynamically

clear too, so vision shouldn't be an issue

And if you put on several layers you could use it like the tear offs that the F1 drivers have on their visors…

What I found interesting was that when I put my focus in for the service (at my local Ford main dealer) I had asked them to do the cambelt change at that time. This would have cost in the region of £400 but I was shown on their computer that the belt wasn't scheduled to be changed until 120k. In the past (particularly when servicing/building/repairing my cars myself) I always changed cambelts at 60k regardless of what the service book said.

Now a laptop is require to carry out the simplest of maintenance I'm forces to leave it to the garages….oh for the days of engines that were mechanical….(thinks longingly about the "good old days" and rebuilding engines with carbs and mechanical distributors….)

Remove the old grips, clean the bars, put on new grips.

    Lock on ones are good…

Sorry I'm being a bit thick but why does a diesel engine need a timing belt?

The principal behind all piston engines is basically the same, the crank shaft needs to be synchronised with the camshaft regardless of the type of fuel.

The cambelt/timing chain maintains the synchronisation.

I took my old Focus in for it's 87.5k service and asked the dealer whan the cambelt was due, he told me 120k. seems like a lot to me too, the service book (iirc) listed it as due at 100k.

I sold the car 3 months ago with 90k on it and the original cambelt.

    SEP now…..

The 2.0 tdci Ford engine has a timing belt, it's ususlly due for replacement around 120k miles according to my local main dealer iirc

    Thanks Guys,

I think it's a case of general fitness, I'll look for a suitable loop for some intervals.

I had a session on a treadmill linked up to an ECG and a thing to check my o2 sats as part of a checkup about 18 months ago and was told everything was fine so I guess I need to ride more… no hardship there then :-)

Good point, I know you udes to be able to get a sort of extra bar mount which fits to the front of the o/s bars to allow the fixing of computer/lights/gps, I think Halfrauds had them, can't find them on the website now….might look a bit rubbish though

So what's the problem? Govt wants to be able to shut illegal sites down, or deny criminals the means to commit a crime. Shocker – not.

    Or

Government has given itself the right to shut down any site which it thinks might think about using copyrighted material without the copyright owner's consent.

On a lighter note….we're in a very safe Tory seat, our MP clearly didn't know what to say last time round when he asked Mrs Wombat if he could count on her support and she said no…
