Sounds as though it’ll be just what I want.

Petrieboy, where did you get it from for £75?

    The Rainmaker review’s good, thanks

I tried running with the Edge in my pocket and in the top [pocket of a daysack and it doesn’t seem to work consistently if it can’t ‘see’ the sky. A 10 mile loop on the bike shows as 10 miles, the same route on foot with it in my pocket shows as over 11 miles for some reason. The car makes it pretty much 10 miles too.

Our house has one, it was in when we moved in, it’s a completely pointless item.

It’s noisy, uncomfortable, and a waste of space (a normal bath of the same dimensions would be an excellent item that would be welcome in my bathroom).

Whatever you do, don’t get one, ours will be coming out as soon as we can face fitting a new bathroom.

Can you tell we don’t like it? 😉

A film of washing up liquid works down to about -10 IME and won’t damage clothing.

I was wondering because if the notes are destroyed by one of those explosive dye box things that the cash in transit people use the notes would be useless but would (I assume) still need to be replaced

I have a large & sturdy cardboard box you can have for free if you can collect it, a full built (apart from pedals & turned bars) small MTB was delivered in it and it’s too good to throw away.

This is my neck of the woods.

Sutton Bank itself is tarmac (as you already knew) and is great if you want to overtake cars very fast (doing down, not up) :D.

It depends to an extent how far you’d be travelling to get to the area, there are a fair few routes around there if you know where to look, many of them loop round a few key runs so you can get a reasonable ride without ever being more than 3 or 4 miles from your starting point.
There will be a few muddy patches it’s generally not too bad providing you give it time to drain after heavy rains. If you link up between Sutton Bank, White Horse Bank and Boltby Woods there’s some pretty decent riding to be had.

Not really up to the standard of some but this…

was what I found when I was doing a little fettling following a ride last night that included a broken chain, I my defence I’d like to point put it was dark and cold and my fingers were numb (as was my brain if this is anything to go by).

    It’s all fine now though

I did the Clic 24 a few years back and loved it, my only concern with this is my almost total lack of exercise over the past couple of months as a result of ridiculous working hours… 😯

there should be some sort of test as to whether not guilty is even a remotely credible position and whether a plausible account can be put forward to support this

Isn’t this called a public trial with a jury of your peers, one of the fundamental bases of our criminal justice system?

. Northallerton was completely flat last time I was there…
It still is but the North York Moors are only 8-10 miles away

And some great riding in the Hambleton hills too

    There certainly is 😀

Get a mate that is vaguely mechanically aware to go see it about an hour before you, he tells them it’s got this and that wrong with it and it’ll cost £2.5k so sort it.

You roll up afterwards, say you like it but have others to look at and offer £1k less than the asking price, with any luck they’ll be glad to “offload” it 😉

I’ve just got home from a trip out that included a visit to my local Halfords to pick up one of the 5l bottles on Muc Off for £13 that I’d reserved using their online Click & Collect thingy.

After 10 mins increasingly frantic searching it transpired that the bottle had mysteriously disappeared (possible sold to someone else in error).
“Not to worry” I said, “I was just getting it while it was on offer, I’m not desperate for it, have you any more coming into stock soon?”
“Yes” said the cycle dept manager, “I can have another bottle here tomorrow afternoon, or, if you prefer you can have 5 1l bottles to take now”
I decided to wait for the 5l bottle to be delivered, still at the £13 price as I can pop in over the weekend (the shop’s only a mile from my house)
Just as I was leaving the store manager gave me a 1l bottle of Muc Off as a apology for the inconvenience.

    I call that a good result 🙂

this is palisade fencing. I’d be looking for a full cage with a roof though.

    So would I.

Pallisade fencing looks nice and secure but is actually really easy to get through IME
