Thanks Cloudnine but I’ll pass on that, it looks very similar (almost identical) to the one that’s just packed up.

    Cheers anyway

Chinos are not something you should ever wear in public

    Heartily agree with this ^

Looks as though it’s going to have to be suit without a tie, either that or I’ll go the full Francis Rossi double denim

Only 7 posts before a picture of AP and JC :D I had bet with myself it would happen before we hit double figures 8)

As I will need to purchase said garment and chinos havent featured in my wardrobe since the mid 1980s I’d like to limit additional clothes shopping to 1 item if at all possible

but is just me who hears the words “sports jacket” and thinks of goretex and zips instead of tweedy stuff?

    No, me too

someone’s position could be made redundant and being crap at the job being a factor in the decision to make lose that particular member of staff – all they need to do is follow the guidelines to prove the decision was fair.

IE: One position to go, two people on the shortlist. One is good at the job, one is crap…

    This is correct

I’ve got one like Scottyjohn’s one and its excellent, I’ve tried roof mounted and strap on boot mounted carriers before and I’m going to be using towbar mounted carriers from now onwards.

Easy to load, sturdy, pretty secure particularly if you loop a chain through appropriate bits of bikes and a loop ion the towbar, no (or virtually no) impact on fuel consumption, isn’t noisy when empty and doesn’t result in mud & stuff shedding off your bikes all over your car roof on the way home.

Happened on my old commute, contacted the local police via the 101 number and told them where it was happening and my estimation of the speed that the overtakers were doing.

Unmarked A6 and an officer with a hand held laser speed gun appeared about a fortnight later….caught 20 or so people in a 40 minute enforcement period apparently….

The main thing for me is support for the vulnerable. Out of work, disabled, unemployable, addicted, mentally ill and so on. They deserve help, and not handouts, of course, but that costs possibly even more money than handouts.

I also think free childcare for all would be a huge benefit. It seems like a lot of ‘benefit scroungers’ are there because they are either unemployable without some sort of help, they can’t arrange childcare, or it’s just not worth their while financially.

Then we should invest in things that people in a developed country should have a right to. Like healthcare and education, up to degree level.

Then I would also like to see certain key industries nationalised. Transport and infrastructure like power, telecommunications and so on are all essential, and shouldn’t have people pocketing the profits, they should be reinvested. Of course, national industries were badly run in the past but privatisation is not the answer. At least, for essential utilities. I perhaps think things like nationalised car manufacturers is taking things a bit far.

We’re planning on getting rid of the bath and installing a walk in shower as part of a full bathroom refit in the next 6 months or so.

    In our view

Resale is only worth considering if you’re actually going to move at some point in the nearish future.

Our bath has been used twice in the last 5 years, everyone (Me, Mrs Wombat and 2 teenageers) just shower.

I doubt there’s any other item in the house that would be retained with an average usage rate of once every 2.5 years.

I see it as helping the largest number of people with more emphasis on those who have least. If my taxes go up to pay for that, then I’m fine with that.

It says free standard delivery in the advert, I didn’t click through to buy though.

Have been looking at the Skiddi ones too, they look very similar.

It appears that the Qeridoo ones can be had for under £80 on the bay..

    Edit, just saw your edit

Just starts getting to the price where the cynic in me says – how can it be so cheap compared to the others….but outwardly it looks fine

My thoughs exactly, was hoping someone would pop up and say they were excellent (or awful) to help the decision making process but there’s still time… :D

    Trailer

£40 delivered, might be worth a punt….or not?

    wombat
    Full Member

It did look to me from the Qeridoo design that you can just leave the QR in place and the trailer clamps in it pretty quickly.

I think that’s the case with all of them of that type, it’s one of the things I like about them.

Also, at £70 it’s similar price to a set of decent capacity/quality panniers but appears more versatile

    wombat
    Full Member

I’ve been having th same thoughts as the OP.

I currently use a couple of panniers on my tourer but they don’t really have the capacity/strangth for larger/heavier items.

BOB copy trailers are available on Evilbay for around the £50 mark, It’s just storage space that’s the issue for me.

    Thanks TimP.

I feared that may be the case, don’t think it’s worth that long a trip on the off chance. I currently ride a 20″ fram and have a similar (or slightly greater) amount of seatpost showing as in your picture so a 19″ would prob be a bit on the small side.

    Cheers

Did it last night, looks different, couple of minor changes to the way the lock screen works but it seems to work OK.

Needed a restart a couple of times to get rid if messages from Google Play telling me it needed an update but now seems alright.

Still much much better than my works iPhone 5s

No, seriously, you may find it’s cheaper to travel away from your destination and then back to get a better deal.

I’ve done this a few times, only thing is it makes the journey longer.

    IANAL but…

The alleged failure of other componants is consequential failure and there is no way that a high st (or online) retailer would entertain paying out for it so theres absolutely no way you, as a private seller, should be expected to either.

If they do return the drives to you, even if they’re fully working they’ll be worth less as the packets will have been opened.

I’d potentially refund them for the drives if they return them with all the packaging at their cost to you and you’re happy that they’re undamaged and fully working but as for the other damage they can jog on IMO

EDIT Cranberry +1, you can clearly type more quickly than I can.
