Get some of those big yellow plastic wedges to park on if you need to level it up on a sloping site (unless you have some sort of fancy self levelling suspension)

I think Rapha do a cycle specific one that costs £50 for a small tube but does have a pink stripe in it.

Are you sure thats not toothpaste?

Nothing to add to this except that I opened this thread to make a comment about 142×12 being one hell of a drive ratio 8O

Am I supposed to rub chalk all over it and then clean off before first use?

Yes but put a couple of coats of blackboard paint on the wood first

    Should be A.

Most people seem to go with B

Depends to an extent on the availability of a brush I suppose….

Make an appointment to view and then offer what you think it’s worth or what you can afford (these may be the same amounts).

If Zoopla suggests it’s worth £180k then it might be worth mentioning that to the agent…

I use High 5, Nuun or SIS depending in which has the best offers on when I need some more.

I agree they seem to prevent me cramping up more than water alone, particularly when its a hot day (this may just be in my imagination though).

    Really, don’t do it.

You’ll never get that time with your children back.

I’ve worked in the middle east a few times over the past 3 years for short stints, a week or so at a time (though not in Saudi).

I’d not go for 3 months, let alone 3 years.

The Edge 25 look really good but I’d like one that I could use to track runs as well as rides.

    Unless there’s a wrist-strap accessory available….

Just in case any of you good folks were wondering what the outcome was of this.

I found my lost waterproof so a replacement isn’t going to be needed…yet.

Turns out it’s an Altura Thingy. I know it’s an Altura because that’s what the small tab label says, it’s a Thingy because it doesn’t have a model or style label.

scour the bargain sites for super discounts

This is what I’m going to do.

Rob 234, thanks for the offer but I need a size large (purely for the length, you understand :-) )

I wrote and performed a 30 minute standup routine last year.

It took a few run throughs beforehand to get the wording and delivery right.

It was terrifying and exciting in equal measure, I’d definitely do it again

    I’ve got a Superb.

It’s comfy, plenty fast enough, has a massive boot, huge legroom and is economical to run.

I particularly like seeing the look on folks faces when I say I drive a Skoda

    I’d repair the Alfa :D

From Wetherby services, off at J49, A168, A19 bit should be fine at around 6 (which I summise is when you’ll have got to that bit).

The M62 round the south of Leeds is where the issue will be IME.

I’d allow a country 2 1/2 hours for that trip at that time of day.

I will see how she is tonight – if she enjoyed herself I will leave it.

I think this is the best approach.

The school staff may end up reconfguring the groups during the trip if they think it would be better for them to be changed.

Speaking a someone who has been on a number of school trips as an adult (as a parent and governor at the school) the staff want everyone (including themselves) to have a good time on the trip and wouldn’t do anything that would result in unnecessary hassle for themselves or anyone else.

    I’ve got a 5s as a company phone and a personal Sony Z1 Compact.

The only thing that I prefer about the Iphone is that the charger lead will fit in the socket both ways round.

Apart from that I prefer the Sony in every respect.

Legend, I agree with you subject to a minor amendment…

Can we get this point settled once and for all – they do not drive like modern cars.

They drive nicely for vans, ride reminds me of a Volvo 240 estate (not that that’s a bad thing, the 240s were great cars)

    I’m going hull down

That doesn’t make sense. As opposed to what? If you’ve gone hull-up, you’re upside-down and probably sinking fast.

AIUI Hull down is an artillery/tank warfare term for when you place the (hull of the) tank behind a hill or ridge in the ground so only the turret protrudes above the horizon, thus giving the enamy a very small target to hit.

Its commonly used where the tanks are establishing a defensive position.

People saying “in terms of” when that actually mean “with relation to” or “regarding”.

“I’m going hull down for the PM” meaning “Please don’t disturb me this afternoon”

42 mph, Maxxis Advantage front & rear, Sutton Bank on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors (going downhill  )

Top speed reached in the steep section just after the hairpin right-hander.

    Bloomin scary in hindsight.

    A blown damper perhaps?
Had one go on a Subaru Sumo back in the day, new damper sorted it.
