Ive got an Osprey Talon 5 (I think).

Has 2 bottles, stays in place, plenty of room for waterproof/camera/food etc, easy ehough to get the bottles out with one hand whilst moving.

And the added bonus that the small waist pockets on the strap is the ideal size for 4 small pork pies (that’s an 8 pie capacity as there are 2 waist pockets)

    Would certainly recommend.

I have a Sony Z1 Compact, waterproof, very good camera (for a phone), excellent screen, good battery life, been dropped several times and still going strong.

I’ve added a gorilla glass screen protector to it but that’s all.

Much prefer it to my work iPhone 5s (feels nicer in the hand).

Would have another like a shot.

It’ll be T1/3 Long stay so a 10 minute walk looks like a good option.

Is it fairly well signposted (unlike Leeds Bradford)?

Electricity is a force that is passed down copper cables by a process similar to squeezing an orange down the sleeve of a jumper.

The contractions are so small as to be imperceptible to the human eye (or hand since you can’t feel them if you hold an insulated live cable).

If you hold an uninsulated live cable the cable will think you’re a predator and will attempt to throw you off and will make a cracking noise to scare you.

Cables have to be firmly clamped at the ends (inside a 13a plug for example) in order to give the “swallow” effect something to brace against. THis is why it doesn’t work as well if the connection is loose.

Peanut butter and jam sandwiches on granary bread.

Easy to eat, can be eaten if mis-shapen during transport, very tasty, high protien, carbs and a bit of sugar 8)

    And pork pies naturally

7 or 8 years ago I had a massive off (failed bunnyhop over a small drainage ditch at approx 30mph on a fast downhill rocky/cinder trail (Black Hambleton descent before it was sanitised for any North Yorkshire locals)) less than a week before I was driving on a family holiday from North Yorkshire to Cornwall.

Was OK once I was in the car but had to prize myself in and out by hanging onto the edge of the roof of the car as I had continuous bruising and road rash from my right knee up to and including my right shoulder.

By the end of the week away I could just about walk for a couple of hours without needing to rest/stretch/swear….

I’m now reminded of it on a regular basis and am banned from riding for the fortnight before each family holiday.

I bought one of these with the intention of passing the roller pin of a chain through the rear hole in the picture and using the screw loop to pass through the hole in the chain where the pin would normally go.

It arrived this morning but is far too big unfortunately.

North through Spain, into France, continue northwards until you reach the channel, use a boat for somewhere between 25 and 80 miles depending on your route, on reaching land continue north until you get to the M62, from there correct your course and aim for Edinburgh.

    +1 for the Beta 350.

I’ve had (and abused) one for 6 or 7 years now and it’s been excellent.

Roomy for 2, comfortable for 3 as the porch area is really handy for storage.

I’m 6’2″ and can sit upright inside without my head coming close to the skin of the tent.

Sorry, what is this “baguette sandwich”???

From the description I assume it is a baguette served between two slices for buttered bread.

In fact it is Panino but that doesn’t sound as funny…

OP, not sure where in the country you are but I’ve got a twin screen DVD setup that straps to the headrests you can have for £40 if you want to collect it from North Yorkshire ;-)

“Fill out” as in fill out a form.

Incorrect useage of the word myself to indicate the speaker/writer, as in “return it to myself”. This is just plain wrong

Another vote for “Can I get…”

Starting the answer to a question with “Yes, no…” or “No, yes…” This is most frequently encountered in sports interviews.

    I could go on…..

Probably best to try hire firms that have a desk at the airport.

Would a van be suitable? Might be cheaper (perhaps)?

Thanks DezB, are the new ones improved enough to be a permanent replacement for the existing QR?

    wombat
    Full Member

Just make sure you get the sturdy QR (probably standard now)

Is this QR the one that is fitted to the rear wheel of the bike or the one in the trailer wheel?

I’m severely tempted by the Foxhunter trailer for shopping locally but don’t want to risk a poor QR on the back end of my tourer

I got one from Halfords for £20 a while back, very comfy but not massively vented, I’m keeping it for cold weather use.

Am I missing the point here or wouldn’t the tent on top of a VW be unusable? Doesn’t the roof have a 75Kg weight limit? I don’t really want to discuss my weight but me + tent + usual tent stuff > 75Kg…

It does look quite cool but this was my 1st thought too

At what age does a cygnet ring become a swan ring?

About the time it becomes attractive, which is what the OP was already asking.
