It’s as much the aerodynamics as anything, a 1.6 viavro/traffic is going to burn more diesel than a 1.6 Clio whther they have the same engine or not.

Put it another way, my (1.6 petrol) focus costs £195 a year to tax and does the same/more mpg as a T5 sized van, so that’s the best you’d be aiming for.

talking about aerodynamics and you are not comparing apples to apples, innit?

actually met the chem teacher today as it is their “school report card thingy day” or whatever it is called here… but nothing really I could do, unless I sit-in to their class.. knowing my chemistry in HighSchool and Uni days all I can remember now is H2O just because I drink it everyday 😕

kid is OK at school GCSE only 2x A’s and the rest is A* .. the transition to 6th form seems not very good as the kid expected and ..mentioning one of kids mate got tutor and is doing very well now in math.

not the point. but the same engine 1.6hdi they put in a car got like £60 ish VED (iirc)…and when they put it in a van suddenly it could cause annihilation of polar bears and their homes… at least the penguins can live in madagascar thank god!, or I will be responsible for them too 😕

I gave now when I have a spare in that particular moment (they always stay in my local carpark paying machine area)…tried not giving and try to justify my action about it in my head but still felt bad

got one 6mos ago the berlingo van, looked for pre-reg from your dealer you could save loads of cash for a brand new van and spend it to your bike instead. can fit 3 bikes all wheels on…. you just have to angle the front wheel a bit. also I have spent about £200+ for sound deadening .. well, drives like a van which is shitty feeling if you just drove a car all your life. i got the 1.6hdi and on 5K mileage now, nothing falls apart yet..might need to top up engine oil and felt van veered more to the left for some reason (will have to take this back to the dealer to sort it out)… 5speed I dont like as well 2500rpm on 70mph 👿 ..cannot insure and tax as private car even it I only use it to carry bike from home to trail centre… should have just kept my ford focus 😐
