Try Jet2 holidays and search through the various options available, you can choose a lot of options re. rooms, or flights only. We’ve managed to get two rooms before for not silly prices, you’ll need to look through various options to get the best process/options.Went to Kos earlier with them in the year and it’s my favourite island from recent trips.  Just back from Crete a few weeks ago, it was ok, but wouldn’t rush back again, but that might have been the area we were staying in.

I could do, but then I’d still have a wet back pack.

It feels like sealskin solved the wet shoe problem with waterproof socks  until companies started making good waterproof shoes.

Surely there is a market for a waterproof MTB specific backpack.

A second shout out for the rapha pads.  Very comfy, don’t notice them riding, don’t think I’ll be going back to my 661 or POC pads which are way more chunky.  Wish they made a matching set of elbow pads as well.

Tate > river taxi > Tate Modern > walk across the bridge to see St Pauls.

As mentioned above, Globe is also worth seeing and a good walk down from Southbank.

Visit parliament – just get your timings right to avoid large queues – later afternoon/evening is quietest. One of the more overlooked places to visit, but full of heritage and gets you closer to the action than the news – food is nice as well.

If you like burgers – Ed’s Diner in soho.

Admiral are good, but only when you put all your cars with them on their multi-car policy. Also allowed my daughter to have her car at uni address rathe than home address which other insurers don’t allow.

We added other cars to the policy as and when the insurance on them ran out and this gave us the best discount.

Similar to Binners – spud like – but XXL spud. 62.5cm and I need a longish helmet front to back, so I am generally a TLD or Giro, but I’ve also found that Endura fit as well.

I first realised I was a head oddity when I sent to get ny first cub scout hat and they had to go to the back room to find one that would fit my head!

Many thanks all, some great suggestions there. I’ll be searching through those tonight. Frahm look great, but how much!

Tomparkin, cheers for the offer. I am in Leeds so not a million miles away. Depending on size,I may well take up your kind offrer.

Jam Bo, as a second bike I did ‘t want to be spending a fortune. And whilst I parted with my 26″ mtb, I don’t recall them being that much of a problem, I think my fitness is more of the issue.

Aga pots, totally bombproof. Although their frying pan (non-stick) was awful.

another shout out for admiral multicar with a new young driver. I contacted a lot of insurance companies and asked about options for when learning and passed.

No one could get near admiral re cost and level of cover. She also didn’t need to have a blackbox, which meant that when we drove the car we weren’t being tracked as well….

Got one, love it. ML250, efficient and comfy compared to the VW Touareg it replaced.

Buy only if a) you have a well priced independent on hand to service. Check with costs for service A and B and brake fluid costs.

    B) it hasn’t got stupidly big wheels and therefore stupidly big tyre costs.

    C) the FSH is a proper FSH.

They are good value for money as people shy away from them due to size. Build quality is very good, the command centre and sat nav is a bit clunky and map upgrades about £100+ a pop

On the current chainset, there appears to be no options for a smaller chain ring due to the bcd distance

Sold my diamond back rigid singlespeed 29er within 5 mins of putting it on facebook market place yesterday. Had 7 people chasing it until it was collected, can’t help but think that some people are buying to sell on again.

Will test the water at the weekend on the recognised brands front as I am going to list my Dialled Bikes Prince Albert.

Top marks to martinhutch for mind reading, that was the part I was thinking about. I didn’t know about the facebook update site as well, so I’ll use that in the future.

Gisburn is a great trail to visit once in a while, it has a bit of everything and has improved through the years.

I’ve bought from sunset before and would recommend them, bought a spesh endure many years ago. Glad to see that they are still going!

Cafepod online, do a great range and quick delivery. Better than Aldi capsules, cheaper than nespresso capsules and just as good if not better than any other on the supermarket shelves. Also do a good decaf for the evening!

Also need to head over to leeds urban bike park, but I might wait until the weather improves!

When I went to see the last Star Wars film, but my dad wasn’t with me.

He took me to the cinema for the first time in my life in 1977. We lost him to cancer in 2012.

Phone the very nice people at this place:

    https://www.justticketsandmotoring.co.uk

And tell them what you’d ideally like re. Type of campsite. You may find that the nicest campsites are now sold out though and accommodation other than camping may also be difficult to get.

Also think about what sort of ticket you want. General access is v good value, but you’ll be crowded for the start and end of the race wherever you go.

I’d suggest a grandstand ticket looking down over the pits, gives you somewhere to go at any time in the race and very handy if it happens to rain.

Make sure you make time to visit the Museum in the circuit as well.

If you are not in a rush, travel home on monday, rather than sunday evening.

    Enjoy!

Planet X are pleasant change from all the other shiite email offers in the inbox.

Not sure if it’s a great marketeer behind the approach or truly random stuff thrown together.

Either way I like it and I buy stuff as a result. Job done for Planet X.

Another shout out for Levi – I loved it for being quiet and relaxed – booze is expensive – so don’t go if you like to drink a lot – airport to location transfer 30minsish – might ao see Santa and/or norther lights.

    And 100% guaranteed snow!

This year by Bosch washer died after 10 years service. Foolishly replaced with a Hoover washer/dryer as they had a good a cashback offer on – it’s awful, chucks up random error codes, doesn’t drain on some washes and wash temprature reset on some programmes when you close the door.

    Wish I bought another Bosch…

I enjoyed the evening, it was a lighthearted trip through his career. Whilst he isn’t an amazing public speaker, he came across as a genuine bloke that enjoyed his career and is keen to put time and energies into all levels of the MTB family.  I didn’t realise he sponsored riders of all age groups comepting at a variety of levels through his syndicate, I thought it was limited to up and coming world class riders.

I doubt you’d get as good an evening with many other world champs from other sports for £20.

We also ran out of some beer at the venur, but what do you expect when a theatre full of men of a certain age rock up.

Well I wondered if there would be anything to tempt me in this thread and there hasn’t been.

I’ve not eaten a crisp for two years. They were my favourite binge food and the salt wasn’t good for my blood pressure.
