On the subject of singlespeeds, what’s the best tensioner to use with a normal frame converted to run as singlespeed?

You need to look on the TT database on their website:

    http://www.iomtt.com/TT-Database.aspx

If you give us his name, someone will be able to find out for sure.

    Seriously????

An indonesian bike shop that sells expensive bikes at ‘too good to be true’ prices?

    What do you think 😆

    Good on him.

I’d love to see the interview but it doesn’t seem to be available anywhere 🙁

Might be worth contacting the PALS team from the ambulance service as they deal with compliments and complaints.
    http://www.wmas.nhs.uk/contact_us/compliments.aspx

And if you contact them, try not to call them ambulance drivers as it tends to give them the hump (mainly because the driver is either a Paramedic or a medical technician!)

    Quite simply, the man’s a genius 😀

The bike and kit’s gonna take some cleaning after today though!

Just had a promotion email from Merlin. They’ve upped the price on the Rev’s now, they’re up to £330 but you still get the 10% off as well.

Rather than listening to the crap that people spout on the internob. Call Consumer Direct and speak to them. They’ll tell you where you stand and if it’s possible to try and go for the refund they’ll talk you through the process and in most cases, they’ll even tell you what to put in the letter.

My personal opinion is that it’s not it for purpose and it’s between you and the retailer. It’s up to the retailer to pursue the manufacturer for recompense if required.

If you don’t give them some sort of reduced ban/penalty for their testimony, who on earth would come forward on a voluntary basis? Seems quite reasonable if these people (amongst the dozens AT LEAST who know what happened) put themselves out that they don’t end up with lifetime bans.

I understand that they need to offer them something to get them to testify but if this is the case, how can you knowingly let a rider like Hincapie ride for Cadel Evans in the Tour and give him a potentially significant advantage over other riders?
If this is the case then it would just serve to tarnish the win if Evans were to take the yellow jersey.

in many peoples eyes he will never been seen as the greatest cyclist of all time (even though he is)

no he isn’t Eddie Merckx is.

I’m not sure he can be declared the greatest cyclist of all time considering that he failed two or three drug tests during his time.

Judge holds vials of blood showing confirmed doping for Armstrong

Until I see that. Sorry keep the press conjecture coming.

I’m with Hora on this one. They’re trying to charge him on nothing but presumption so far. No actual evidence.
Once this ‘vial of blood’ has been tested and it’s proven, then I’ll be convinced.

The fact that they’re planning on letting self admitted dopers ride the Tour and Vuelta this year before banning them at the end of the season, when they are coincidentally retiring from the sport, makes it look like nothing more than a hatchet job aimed at Armstrong.

Mine arrived yesterday and were fitted to the bike.
Nice forks, not too heavy either. They are only about 100g heavier than a set of RS Reba’s.

From my first impressions, they’re a lot firmer than the original Revelation RL’s that were fitted to my Stumpjumper. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some miles on them over the weekend to see what they ride like.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that Quidco have upped their cash back with Merlin to 5% for the next three days. Not a huge increase but it’s better an a kick in the teeth!

Out of interest what is helitape? is is the stuff you get with new frames to protect from cable rub. I could do with some of that.

    That’s the stuff.

Proper 3M tape, sticks well, doesn’t go yellow and does what it’s supposed to!

I posted this on another thread but got no response so thought I’d try here instead!

I’ve just ordered a set of the Revelation RLT’s from Merlin and can’t decide which bike to fit them to!

I’ve currently got a 2011 Stumpjumper FSR Comp which I took the original Revelations off and replaced them with a set of Fox 32 RLC TALAS.

I’m now building up a new model Cotic BFe and was originally planning on fitting the Revelations to this but would I be better with the Rev’s on the Stumpy and the Fox’s on the BFe???

Both forks are 15mm Maxle’s and both bikes have Hope Hoops fitted so I can fit them either way.

    Any suggestions?

Out of interest, does anyone reckon there’s any better forks about at the moment with 130-150mm travel for this kind of price???

    Very tempting.
I’ll have to see how I get on with selling off a load of spares today to raise some money for a set of Revelations!

Can any of you guys with a new BFe tell me whether it uses full length gear cable outers or not?

I’ve ordered the frame and got most the bits I need to build it up but I don’t have and spare cables about if needed!

Try getting parts prices from Eurocarparts as a comparison to see if your garage are ripping you off.
To be fair though it sounds about right price-wise.

Depending on which terminal I’m working in I’ve got a choice of 8 staff canteens to use.

Some of them are decidedly crap, some are distinctly average and some are fantastic depending on which time of the day you go. Certain ones do good breakfast, a couple do good lunch/dinner and the one I’ll be using today does fantastic roast dinners on Sunday and great curries on Thursdays.
Needless to say, I’ll be heading there for curry night tonight!

London Eye and the Science Museum. Probably the two best tourist attractions in London.

Avoid Madame Tussauds, it’s absolute rubbish. I’d also avoid London Zoo, it’s expensive and not that good!

15000 miles from a chain and sprockets? You need to clean and lube it more often.
Failing that, invest in a Scotoiler once the new chain’s fitted.

After flicking through the last couple of issues of Dirt at the supermarket, I’ve been pretty impressed with it.

WIth the deals they’re doing at the moment being pretty good, I’ve subscribed now. Singletrack, on the other hand seems overpriced and I find myself less inclined to bother picking it up as I know there’s no way I’ll buy it!

is there any way of finding out for sure what travel they are??

To be certain, I’d try calling Mojo or TF Tuned and see what they say.

If they have 150mm of stancion showing and 145mm is usable, I’d say that they’re the 140mm forks. I may well be wrong, though.

    wisepranker

    Looks good.
It might just be me but the forks look really long on the pictures. Much more than 130mm!

The more I see of these, the more I think about getting rid of my Soul and replacing it with a BFe
