That’s the set-up I’ve got on my BFe.
I’ve got the BB with one spacer in the drive side. The stinger is fitted with no spacer washers and works well.
I had it running without the Stinger to begin with so I’ve stuck with my initial chain length which was big ring to big ring + 2 links.

In god knows how many years as a mechnaic, I’ve never heard of a gearbox just giving up the ghost with no prior warning!
Sounds like they might have made a boo-boo and are trying to cover up!

    Dilemma time now.

Tennis one one channel, cycling on t’other.

    😐 can’t decide!

Never watched a tennis match in my life, don’t particularly like Murray from what I’ve seen of him on interviews on the news but I’m sat here watching (and enjoying) the match and willing Murray on to win!
The Olympics seem to do strange things to people!

I’ve had a look on the Surrey Hills MTBer blog and there’s a couple of GPX files on there that look quite promising.

I’ll probably give Holmbury a try tomorrow and see how I get on. I’ll put a couple of GpX’s on my Garmin then if I’ve got time I can head out somewhere else as well!

Im under the impression if im catching a connecting flight i have to go to a certain area and await a specific bus (unless this is the heathrow express)

You’ll arrive at T1 and come it of domestic arrivals, follow the signs for Flight Connections where you’ll go to the coaching gates and a bus will take you over to T5. The busses run every 5-10 minutes and the journey only takes about 10 minutes at most.

OK fair enough, but what if im late because of a delay at security etc ? Would BA sort me out then ?

    In a word yes.
It happens quite often that people miss connecting flights. When this happens they will rebook you onto a later flight FOC.

    Have you tried Merlin Cycles?
They’ve got some pretty good deals on Revelations at the moment.

I deal with airlines every day at work and I can easily say that BA are nowhere near the worst one. One of the best, in my experience, is Virgin. Always helpful and better looking cabin crew 😆

If you’re flying from Heathrow, you can almost guarantee that any airline that uses Terminal 4 is crap.

Surely it’s about time STW did something about the scammers on here?
Is it really that difficult to make a sticky thread with the usernames and email addresses of known scammers?
Would it be such a bad idea that selling in the classifieds becomes a Premier user only thing? At least that way there’s records of sellers details from when they signed up.

I had problems on here with someone trying to scam me for £260 not so long back, thankfully I got it sorted in the end but others aren’t so lucky.

is it just me? but it’s pure common sense not to go anywhere near the inside of a lorry if you are on a bike. Just avoid or wait

I think that’s the only practical solution.
There’s absolutely no point in being 100% correct according to the highway code or the letter of the law when you’re as vulnerable as a cyclist in a busy urban environment.
Being perfect in everything you do won’t stop you getting crushed by a bus or a truck.

I genuinely can’t see a better solution to the problem than cyclists not going up the inside of large vehicles. It’s common sense, if it’s big and it might crush you on a corner, don’t go up the inside of it.

    NOT the answer

    So what is then?

There’s no point in saying suggestions for improvements are no good but not suggesting alternatives.

Just got back after a day watching the TT round Hampton and Twickenham.

Fantastic atmosphere, good support for all the riders and outstanding support for the Team GB boys and girls.
The noise when Wiggo passed was immense. Something I won’t forget 8)

The guy sounds like a weapons grade pillock and he deserves whatever he gets.
He probably never thought that it would blow up this much but that fact that it has and he’s posted photo’s of himself as his Twitter profile picture means that more than a few people will recognise him and hopefully a couple will give him a kicking to show him the error of his ways!

Try and find a paintless dent removal company to use. If you get a decent one of them to do a repair, it’ll be near perfect.
I had a dent reap aired in my car last year by a PDR guy and it was perfect afterwards, only cost £75 as well!

In world championships they wear their own team helmets – and shoes, which they will often have individual sponsorship deals for – and their shorts have their trade teams name on. Don’t know what the rules are for the olympics but no professional cyclist will want to change shoes before a major race.

I can’t be certain but I read somewhere a while back that they will wear their normal shoes for the cycling. There was an article saying that if Cavendish won, he may have to get up on the podium barefoot as the team is sponsored by Adidas but he has shoe sponsorship with Nike and neither wanted him wearing the others kit on the podium.

    Edit: found the article

Indeed. Let’s hope they’re not all doped up to the eyeballs as it seems every cyclist in the last 30 years was…..

Do you ever actually post any positive or useful comments?

Back on topic, it was an awesome show of power by Cavendish, especially when they say he’s lost a bit of speed!
The way Sky are riding, I can’t imagine anything but two more stage wins for them and a gold for Team GB at the Olympics.

“Milk has got a lotta bottle, nice cold, ice cold, milk”

Blimey, that dates me. That was in the days before lactate intolerance was invented, sorry, discovered. Funny how all those school kids survived their daily bottles!?!?

    Ain’t that the truth!
It’s bizarre how no-one ever had a problem with lactose intolerance and other such pseudo-medical b***ocks until the past few years.

As someone else on here has already said, no wonder farmers don’t have a pot to pee in when they struggle to get 60p for a pint of milk but half a pint of fluorescent fizzy stuff costs 2 or 3 times that and probably has pretty much the same effect.

Horrendously unreliable and exceptionally expensive when they go wrong, which they do. Lots.
    Also very, very thirsty.

Avoid the M-Class at all costs.

BTW, I’m an ex-Mercedes mechanic so has had plenty of dealings with them.

Really liking the white wheels buddy !!!

Thanks. I was a bit dubious about keeping the white wheels on it at first but it’s turned out well.

I’m liking his simple but effective bike stand <wanders off to shed>

I’d like to take the credit for the idea but it’s blatantly nicked off someone
else, possibly on here, who posted a picture of their bike with a similar stand.

    Why?
I’ve had a Soul and liked it so it made sense
I got the BFe as I couldn’t justify the extra for the Soul.

    Set Up?
    Fox RLC 32 TALAS
    SLX/X7 2×10
Hope Hoops with Flows running tubeless

    Opinion?
Not had it long but on first impressions I’m loving it!

I think Cav’s main interest in this TdF is winning on the Champs Elysees then going on to win gold in London.
He’s had the backing of what’s essentially Team Sky to win the World Championships so it’s payback time now.

He’ll have known full well what he was signing up for when he signed for Sky and I’m sure that he won’t get as much of a lucrative contract anywhere else!

I find that using the Flex Strap mount works well, it gives you plenty of mounting options and doesn’t seem to suffer with any vibration.

For the software, I’ve got a MacBook so I just use iMovie.

Cal won’t be moving away from Yamaha. They seem to think very highly of him and he’s paying back their faith in him this season.

I can’t see how the Pedrobot keeps his ride at Repsol, he won’t be winning the championship this year or any other as far as i can see.

It seems there’s a few dodgy sellers floating about on STW at the moment.
Just had a run-in with one myself but thankfully I managed to get my money back. Sadly though, someone else is a fair amount out of pocket as a result of it.

STW need to do something similar to pinkbike with a thread for scammers and dishonest sellers where you can name and shame them and they get hit with the banstick!
