Agree the CRC, Wiggle and Merlin are all pretty good.
Used Ribble for a lot of road stuff recently, quick despatch and very cheap.
The Wooly Hat shop were pretty fast and cheap to but limited range

What model of GPS is it?
You need to be connecting through one of these USB to Serialunless it is something like this – USB GPS then it is a soft virtual port which must be installed prior to using. Should be available on the manufacters website.

It would seem the dog thinks its above your Mrs in the pecking order and is simply defending her from other dogs when out walking.
If he doesn’t do it when your there then obviously your the alpha.
Establishing the pack order should stop the aggression, not sure about the barking though.

IME Admiral multi car isn’t any cheaper than 2 separate policies, they also require a 14 day notice top cancel and 1 few other clauses.

Thanks for all the excellent info.

Unfortunately its a Precision 470 desktop and doesn’t seem to have a restore partition, I’ll try the digital life download and take it from there.

    +1 for Audiolab.
I have an old 90’s one, looks the part and sounds superb. No remote though!

    I wouldn’t pay them.
Yes, points affect premiums but the fact you hadn’t declared them would mean you were in breach of contract and were not insured. If you had tried to claim they would not have paid out.
Are they refusing to give you proof of no claims? Then it might be worthwhile paying up.
Admiral are a bunch of ar4eholes, I have had problems with both them and their sister company Elephant.
Another thing to remember is that it would not show on your credit record if they claimed they owed money, insurance companies don’t go on the database.

I try to use the local shops as much as possible. Especially bakers and butchers. Quality is way way better than supermarkets. Cheaper to.

The greatest trick the supermarkets have pulled is that they are cheaper than the alternatives.

Disagree about the Co-op having poor quality food. Their chickens particularly the free range ones are far better than any of the big supermarket ones.

I wish I could buy everything from the local small traders but hours of work do not allow it, also, tend to visit Waitrose on a Sunday afternoon or Monday evening and pick up the bargains from the meat and fish counters!

I have only tried the Merkur blades once and I thought was rubbish.
As bad as the cheap Wilkinson Sword blades from Boots.
I found the Derby blades much better but I tried a Feathers last night and is was the best by far.
Tried some of the Taylors soap (from John Lewis) but can’t make my mind up if its any better than the Arko that came free with Deby blades on Ebay!
Apparently, Almond Oil is an excellent (and cheap) pre-shave, will be trying that next.

Diamorphine made me feel so sick I preferred to take the pain from my shoulder op than use the self admin I was given in hospital.
Its complete bollox to say any drug is “harmless”, its all a matter of individual circumstances and personality/genetic make up.

I have 2. They will both get out if they get the chance.
However, 1 is far better than the other and I never did find out exactly which parts of the hedge he was getting through. He never used his sneakier holes when I was watching.
In the end I resorted to an electric fence off ebay, (no doubt this will cause cries of disgust from some members on here, though the fence is there to protect him.), however, after he had invesitgated it once or twice he won’t go near it. I waiting for him to work out the batteries are flat and we can get through painlessly.
I think that all terriers have an instinct to “work” hedges, looking for prey and this leaves to their Steve McQueen impressions.

I didn’t realise Mapsource could output dxf. That might be the simplest solution. (Everyone can get access to Mapsource through the update download on the Garmin website, Google it!)
Not looking for super high accuracy, any datum issues wouldn’t be much of a worry.
The Mapsource solution gets around some of the issues anyway, as the source data will be WGS84 Lat/Long.
Really just looking for an easy way to plot labelled positions on a metric grid and to quickly, easily measure distances, make notes etc. on a hard copy.
I’m probably trying to use a sledge hammer to crack a nut. Just thought as I had access Autocad I would utilise it.

Thanks for your all your help gents. STW never lets you down no matter how obscure the question!
I’ve had more response on here than on a CAD forum.

Sheriff thanks for the info but you lost me at LISP! I am an absolute novice and thought there may a command hidden away somewhere.

I will have play with some of the demos and see if they can do what I need easily. It might be simpler to do it long hand.

    Thanks again

I was looking at a Foretrex 201 to replace my Edge 305 because it also displays OS grid, or least I thought so from reading the manual.

I thought it was the Forerunner that didn’t do grids.

Try Arco – branches everywhere and they sell to non-trade.

    Arco welding gloves

Although some may be a bit over specced!
    Not cheap!

    +1 for Bolle Spider

Got mine off ebay for about £7 delivered.

I do have an expensive pair of these:Spesh Chicane
which are excellent but dear. The adaptalite lenses are great when leaving a fire road onto a darker bit of singletrack.

All the debate about detecting the casualty breathing or not is rubbish.

If they are not breathing then cyanosis is horribly apparent, blue lips, pale skin etc. they literally look like death, as they are dying.

It is unmistakeable. It happens very quickly after a reduction in oxygen levels in the blood.

    Be very careful!
get it x-rayed and get some physio.
I did mine years ago and didn;t take care after the initial incident, was plagued with repeated dislocations which I used to be able to reduce myself, by lying on tables with my arm hanging off the side, or a rotary motion of my elbow.
Eventually it was totally mashed and wouldn’t reduce without a&e. I under went some repair surgery and (touch wood) it’s been fine since.
the physio is very important to build up the muscles surrounding your shoulder joint. My problem was increased by an almost sub-concious protection of my shoulder, which meant I used it less and teh muscles weakened further.
    All very unpleasant!

I used “senditnow” to send 2 bikes I sold on Ebay recently with no problems.
Both packaged in bikes boxes from the LBS and both slightly larger than the max dimensions on their website.
I think if you don’t take the p£1s then you will be fine.

    So would I!
It isn’t actually me, I was asked the question and couldn’t find anything through Google.
Probably because it very rarely happens. Not sure who would stick with an employee with such extended sick leave in their probation.

I recently bought the cheaper Ion, which is ali with carbon seat stays and it is awesome.

If the chain links are the same size as Shimano 10 spd road chains then you can use these. I believe the road and MTB chains are compatible.
    KMC links
Although the ad doesn’t state it, it is a twin pack and you get 2 sets of connecting links, I just bought some last week.
KMC make the chains for Shimano anyway.

    49mm is the normal reach.
If that is not enough try ribble 57mm brakes

Definitely think discs will be the future, however, it will happen when Shimano/Campag/Sram run out of other ides to get money out of road bikers.

    Thanks for that Martinxyz.

Ox – Brakes do 1 job. Tyres are a compromise between grip, braking, roll resistance etc. If you improve the braking by changing the tyre you will very likely compromise something else.
    Besides – brake upgrade £42 – tyre upgrade between £40 – £60.

    winston_dog

The contact patch of the tyre, not the pad is “weakest link” in the process.

The size of the pad will make some difference in heat dissipation and hellimprove the braking force.

It’s a new bike, that came with 105 throughout, except the brakes which are Promax OEM things.
Thanks for the offer of the Ultegra but I quite like the look of the 105 brakes. (Sad I know).

For whats it worth, I have 2010 105 shifters, mech and chainset on my road bike and to a “non-roadie” like myself it appears very, very smooth and I can’t see how Ultegra or dura-ace could be significantly better!

I have 2 westies who are fed Burns chicken and rice, mixed with a small amount of leftover chicken and veg if there is any.. They also get a tin of sardines split between them a couple of times a week.
I did try them on the fish and rice version but they smelt like old trawler deck boards after eating it.
I was advised when they were pups to buy a good quality dry food. Apparently wet food has been linked to cancer which is quite common in dogs.
