A 1 yr old lab pulls on the lead! Put it down – it will be a childs face next. What a devil dog!

FFS – its still a puppy – it was excited when being collected from the kennels.

I would of kicked the kennel owner if they had kicked my dog.
I thought choker leads were something left behind in 1985?

    Worked up there many times.
Davie, check the ferry times before you go. The Houton ferry seems to follow a strange timetable, the ferries are not very frequent. It is easy to end up stranded!
Watch out for the wind – you think you are a cycling God spinning out top gear and making great progress, then you turn around to head back home….
If you go to Hoy the museum and cemetery are definitely worth a visit.
The cliffs at Yesnaby are also stunning, especially if the sea is a bit rough.
Sacrra Brae worth a visit to.
    Oh and take a waterproof…

I use a Lezeyne saddle pack, 2 tubes, multi tool, levers, phone and cash.
Windproof or waterproof in jersey pockets.

Multi tools can be a bit bit nasty if you fall on one in your pocket.

PADI always had a poor reputation compared with BSAC.
TBH nowadays, there is probably little difference. It will depend on the quality of the instructor.

My recommendation would be to do the basic course in the UK, so you can advantage of the fantastic diving in the Red Sea, not wasting time in the hotel pool doing drills and sitting through lectures.

I put a standard B17 on my commuter and it was comfortable from day 1 and gets better all the time. If it feels okay now it will only get better over the trip.

I would make sure you use some of this though Brooks Proofide, it really helps.

    Don’t need one.

Everytime I go out on my road bike I get one for free.

It can even last a few days if don’t wash it!

    +1 for Send it now.

I have sent 3 bikes with them with no problems.

1 of the bikes slightly exceeded the max size given on the website but it was collected and delivered no problem.

I have also used Parcel 2 go for other stuff.

    Thanks for that gents.

Looks like it will be Brompton. The resale value means it makes a lot of sense to.

    Yes we have sh!t weather.
Yes beer is £3 a pint (at least).
    Yes house prices are ridiculous.

    However,
We generally don’t have earthquakes of any consequence, tidal waves, volcanoes etc.
Very many animals that can cause you serious harm.
The beer is good. (not rubbish generic lager or that rubbish white beer).

The best thing has to be, we must be one of the last Western nations, who do not arm the police on a routine basis.

    Very annoying man.

Viz comic had a bit of an ongoing slagging campaign against him, a few years ago.

You need a disc specific rack.

    Like this Topeak

I believe its a problem with all disc frames not just scandals.

Thanks for that patch Cougar. I’ll try it, although the MS website said it wasn’t compatible with 7.

I am starting to edge towards the Enigma Echo, with a custom build frame. It will mean 105 instead of Ultegra but the frame should last forever.

Although the Etape looks to have a very similar geometry and has rack and mudguard mounts. Etape

My brown B17 standard was comfy from day one and just gets better.

I bought a black B17 Imperial Narrow for my road bike and that is very hard and doesn’t seem to be breaking in quickly. I will persevere with for a few more months, if no better then I will go for a more modern saddle, the weight penalty was meant to be in exchange for comfort.

    Merkur Razors are excellent.
Merkur blades are awful. Expensive but the worst I tried from about 6 different types.
I use Feather blades now, they can be a sharp on the first shave but they settle down and they last for about 4 or 5 shaves.
They are not that expensive 50 Feathers
I would recommend getting a sample pack and trying a few different blades, something like this Sample Pack

As dear as Miele but better. We have 2 dogs and wooden floors and a few carpets, it copes with everything.
    Well worth the money.

Those Freeload racks good, but the bike has carbon seat stays, don’t think they would take it.

Breatheasy, just checked the Topeak website and your right, not suitable for carbon posts. Thanks for that.

I have got a carbon seat post. Will I need to change to alloy for this?

Considered the Carradice SQR, everyone seems to be out of stock at the moment. Also thought the rack and rucsack offered more flexability.

Taff – I have had exactly the same experience.

I bought a road bike in January and initially wore Giro Zen and baggies, too cold for just lycra! nearly all roadies ignored me.

Since then I have bought a road helmet and have been lycra shorts in the warmer weather, they all acknowledge me now! V strange!

Both were absolutely fine and the code was delivered very quickly.

20 mile road blast, with Burrington Combe climb thrown in to make it worthwhile.
Nearly died coming down through Shipham, woman crossed the road with 2 dogs, traffic coming the other way, as she filled the lane and totally misjudged my speed.

I have had a TN Trisar for about 15 years. Its solid.

If weight and cost not really an issue then get a Hyperspace or Quasar.

    It’s for a 54 plate Z4.

It would appear that the dealers are the only option.

I have googled it several times now and it wasn’t clear from various companies but I think I have finally worked out that the blank keys on ebay are used if you want to transfer the internals from an old key thats a bit a battered, into a new case.

    Thanks for all your help.
