Yes £60 or so is a lot for a bit of 3m wrap but the job it does easily justifies the cost. If it’s a halfords special for £300 then it’s a lot to spend. On a 3k bike it’s 2% extra to retain its brand new finish.

I picked up a new bike in feb, fitted this kit and after a full season of riding the frame doesn’t have a single mark. It’s also unnoticeable when applied.

I have a bit of ocd for keeping things looking as pristine as possible so this stuff is great. It also pays for itself at resale time as you more than get your money back selling a almost unridden looking bike

It’s a genuine discount, even at full rrp these bikes are best in class. I’m very tempted to add a winter 29 hard tail to my collection and at £850, it’s a very well specd bike!

has an update fixed this then, a mate who got one at launch was going mad as he couldnt watch ‘COUGH’ films he copied onto a usb stick and they wouldnt play like they did on the ps3?

Yea the October update added these features. Xbox gets a monthly update which seems to add a large amount of features each time. Sony have added music play off USB finally but say they are unlikely to add any movie dnla support

I think both the next gen consoles have enough games to justify a purchase now. I purchased a ps4 at launch and quickly realised there was no justification to own it over a ps3 and sold it to cex whilst they were paying good money for them.

I picked up a ps4 again with destiny a couple of months back and there are now some great games (destiny not one of them) However, when drive club failed to live up to the hype I picked up a xbox one and forza horizon 2. This is simply the best racing game I’ve ever played and I’ve grown quite attached the the xbox one.

All my mates have ps4’s so I own one for multiplayer games but for single player games I’m more drawn towards the xbox one. Forza and Halo are both exceptional and that initial gap between 3rd party games has closed to pretty much nothing now. Infact cod and assassins creed apparently look better on the xbox one than the ps4.

With DNLA streaming and the ability to play any type of video files it’s also a much better all round media box. Also my ps4 sounds like a plane taking off (which annoys the crap out of me) it is so loud and the xbox runs completely silently.

Ive got a retina pro with 8gb of ram and 128gb ssd and like you I run a 2tb nas drive in my house. Absolutely superb setup.

With all my software installed I have 75gb free so no issues with space.

Ref the air, it’s actually tapered so both devices are pretty much the same thickness at their thickest point. It’s light, powerful and the battery life is exceptional. I’m very pleased I paid the extra for the retina

My local shops are pretty clear about discount. Nothing on end of line already reduced items, 10% on full price bikes if paying cash/card or no discount if using interest free as credit costs them 10%.

Stans sell a kit with 2 little bottles. Once they are seated I let air out, remove the valve core and the bottles fit in the valve. Core back in place, pump up and done.

Ps my old set needed to go up to 50psi for the bead to pop onto the rim. Just listen for the pop and they’re sorted

As long as you have tubeless ready tyres you just need yellow tape, valves and sealent. You don’t need rim strips.

They go up as easily as stans rims

I used an xt 10 speed 16t from rose bikes for £3.23. Was buying other items so the delivery cost wasn’t an issue. I found the jump a massive issue and constantly found myself wanting a different gear. The 16t has really smoothed things out, I don’t notice any jump, even when riding on the road.

    as above Ghetto inflator

I’ve had many mixed results of wheel and tyre combos and sweating and swearing away in the kitchen. That was until a couple of months back when I couldn’t get a rock razor to go up on a hope enduro rim. After trying all my usual tricks (must have wasted 2-3 hours) I gave up and spent a couple of pound making myself a ghetto inflator.

There should be a sticky that just tells everyone how to and insists they make one.

Pump up to 80 psi, release and it blows up any wheel and tyre combo and I don’t even wet it any more.

Purchased a brand new magic mary the other day, arrived with the usual folds, I just popped it onto my flow ex rim, no suds or soap, pumped to 80 psi and it went up instantly. Quicker than fitting an inner tube.

Stans flow wheels – nice and wide, pretty light, brilliant tubeless

Stans tubeless – with schwalbe tyres a complete game changer. Nice low pressures, more compliant bike, better grip and never have to worry about pinch flats that have plagued me for years

Reverb – changed biking for me

Magic Mary front tyre – wow, unlimited grip

Narrow wide chain ring and t rex. Single ring, all the gears I need, low maintainance and no noise

Solar Storm x2 light. Brightest light on the last shop ride. £15 and still had 50-80% battery (2 green leds) after 2 hours. Absolute bargain. Yes the battery may explode but for now it works a treat

Xt 785 brakes – awesome, cannot do better for the money

Saint 820 brakes – like xt but more power and nicer levers

I went from a galaxy s2 to an iPhone 5 (had every iPhone since they came out before the s2) and lasted a week before I went back to be s2. Screen size and battery life was my biggest struggle. I’ve ordered an iPhone 6 again to give it a go but I’m aware I may need to exercise apples 14 day returns policy

    Hayes stroker brakes
    Formula the one brakes
    Maxxis tyres
2014 Fox 34 fit forks. Kashima factory of the same year are awesome however.
    Hope enduro tech wheelset
Rocket Ron tyres from the days before i ran tubeless. 5 pinch flats descending the rangers path. Didn’t matter how hard i pumped them up they’d be going flat within 2 mins of riding

Hope flow 2 and flow ex are still a great combo. Reliable, ok weight, nice and wide and bomb proof tubeless.

I had flows on my previous 26″ bike, picked up a 650b which had nice wide sun ringle rims but kept burping them tubeless. They had to go and because hope were pushing the enduro wheels, it seems they didn’t build any flow ex wheel sets. After 6 weeks of waiting I picked up some hope enduro wheels as a compromise. And a compromise they were. 2.35 width hans and rock razer felt awful on the 23mm rim, low pressures and adverse cambers meant it felt like the rear tyre was constantly going to roll off the rim.

I put up with them for a few weeks before swapping them for flow ex and I’ve not looked back. Honestly cannot see the market for the enduro rims. Heavier than flows, narrower and don’t set up tubeless anywhere near as easily. Bead popped to rim at a worrying hide them around the corner 50psi whereas the flows pop in place at 20 psi. Love hope products but a made out of house poor spec rim isn’t fitting with the in house made quality they are known for

Anyone buying a 16gb is daft, too small

A few years ago I would have agreed. With 4g and fibre broadband I keep nothing but apps on my phone.

    Music I stream spotify
Video I use netflix or link to my network hard drive
    Photos upload to drop box.

    I have 8GB free on a 16gb phone

I’m running an xperia z2 currently but had every iPhone until the iPhone 5 which I hated and vowed never to go back. I’m really liking the look of the iPhone 6, the watch and the potential strava links. The question for me is whether they’ve sorted the battery. 2hrs on strava used a massive chunk of iPhone 5 battery, xperia z2 it uses basically nothing. I’m also a bit annoyed the camera is still pretty poor. Design is lovely though

I’ve been running a race Face nw 34t all summer with sram x0 type 2 and I’ve never dropped a chain. Been out today on some rough stuff running a superstar 32t NW and it’s business as usual.

    I honestly prefer Cannock overall

Well I live 45 mins from Cannock and can’t see myself ever riding it again so that’s ruined my desire to give Kirroughtree a go

I recently picked up a flow ex wheel set from http://www.freeborn.co.uk/components/wheels-tyres/wheelsets/29er-wheelsets

At £307.50 for 650b versions they were the cheapest around. Also great service, I ordered at 3pm and they were on my doorstep 10am the following day

I’m currently running saints with the long pins and they have been bullet proof for the past 6 months. Super tough, taken some big hits and just keep going. Bearings are perfect still, they look good and are super grippy with my five tens. For ref my last bike was running dmr vaults which were a nice platform but I kept losing pins. Before than I had nukeproof nanos which were equally as good as the vaults but I’d take saints every time.

    2014 cube stereo 160 carbon 650b frame
    Kashima 34 talas
    carbon haven bars
hope pro 2 flow ex wheel set
    hans and rock razor tubeless
    saint pedals
    saint brakes
    1×10 x0 gear set

28.6 lb. Could trim it with lighter wheels, pedals, brakes, tyres etc but I’m happy with a bit of extra weight for wide rims, sticky pedals, big tyres and powerful brakes

Shimano, I had the nightmare of living with formula the one brakeset for a couple of months. As above but also they’d make different noises on each ride. If it was wet I’d be afraid to use them

Latest XT for me. Had them on my old bike and my new bike had fornula the one brakes which ruined the bike. Back to XT and all is well

I had a similar set up which was working fine until my bike shop touched it and starting making a similar noise to what you describe in 1st. Turned out they’d wound the b screw in too much and increased the chain tension. Wound it back out so mech moved closer to the cassette and all is silent again.

Also, they tend to drop when pedalling backwards for a handful of rides until it all beds in, especially with a new chain

You’ll be fine, 1hr 15 mins riding time at a good pace. Leisurely pace still under 2hrs. If you’re struggling for time cut out the b line and you’ll save 15 mins

I just recently picked up some hope hoops with hope enduro rims. They are a good set of wheels but if I could have got flow ex, I would have taken them every day of the week. I’d already waited 6 weeks and it’s now second week of August so couldn’t wait any longer

I have a similar problem with a stereo hpc 160. With mine the mech is rubbing away on the hanger and once worn it slips past and goes forwards. As with yours the chain then rattles and jockey wheels can get stuck in cassette and it can’t change gear. I’m on my third mech hanger now. To me it looks like the mech sits too far to the edge of the hanger.

I’ve had reverbs on last 2 bikes and riding at least twice a week over last 3 years I’ve never had an issue. My 2 biking mates have run the same and had no issues either

I went for the first time on thursday and I still haven’t stopped grinning. Was bone dry with lovely dusty trails. My only regret is I left dai hard until the last 2 runs and I think it was probably my favourite trail.

The blues are really good fun though, super fast and so flowy.

I’m in the same position. Had flows in the past and found them to be superb. I think I’m leaning towards flow ex as they are 2.2mm wider so will have a nicer tyre footprint and they are marginally lighter once built up.

Like the idea off crossmax eduro but yellow is a no go and 19mm rear wheel is far too narrow.

Chinese carbon rims seem to be great value and light but read a few recent post of them breaking quite easily.

Clearly, I’m still not sure what to buy…

Cheapest places i’ve found for hope wheels are rush cycles, freeborn and wicked cycles

I’ve had my eye on a similar setup having previously ran flows and missing the ease of tubeless.

http://www.freeborn.co.uk/components/wheels-tyres/wheelsets/27-5-650b-wheelsets are about the cheapest I’ve found. Set of 650b with flows £307.50

Bit more for straight pull spokes

i took a load of superstar sintered and resin to the alps and they almost ruined the trip with the howling. Put genuine shimano back in and they were silent and nothing but perfect. Halfords are really cheap for the pads. Around £13 for a pair of finned and less for normal versions
