It could be the spindles that are worn, I had the same problem and replacement spindles and new bushes fix it

Couple of local rides on friday and Saturday in freezing rain and sleet so i though I’d try a bit more altitude and ride in the snow.

A cunning plan until I got snow and strong winds

IMAG1023 by Gaz Thomas[/url], on Flickr

then total white out, couldn’t make out the trails so time to head home

    cheers for the links.
The price of a kit is too much for a one of repair.
I’ll contact Hewitt cycles and see how much.

Get ready for a “which crank to replace my X1” thread

The local riding group used to be Blackburn Bikers but since the court case brought by the serial scammer woman they have closed the club down and now exist only as an informal group who communicate via Farcebook. But they will tell you where to ride and might even offer to accompany you.

Rumor has it they still ride every Wednesday

When are you planning on riding OP?

If it was the difference between riding or not then yes. There’s only two short red sections but if you park at Witton there’s a pump track to play on and a couple of bridleways to ride to take you to the start of the two man made sections. There’s some other stuff thats OK to make up a loop but it’s footpath and tricky to find. You might be able to work out the route from this?

Everything’s moving as it should. All spokes are tight front and back, change wheel bearings on front because they had a tiny bit of play and redone headset.

Makes sense, first ride with the new tyres fitted I stared out with the tyres quite hard and let a bit of pressure out after a few miles. They then felt a bit odd on the next bit of road I hit.
Do you just put up with it.
The tyre’s aren’t really low pressure in fact I was going to let a bit more air out. Will that make it worse?

It rode fine with a 2.8 Rocket Ron so I’m not sure its the tyre size causing it.

Headset is new, wonder if I’ve overtightened it and buggered up the bearings?
I’ve just redone it and the weirdness is still there.

frame/forks are new and everything ran fine before I fitted the NN 2.8 and tightened the headset.

Could it be it’s just a bigger\heavier tyre than I’m used too?
I’m not running it particularly soft but I’ve no idea what pressure it’s at

Mines the normal MH not the FR. The FR has a lip on the front edge.

Thats with the 2.8 RR on the front and a XR4 on the rear

Those Evans one’s might work. I’ve email On-One but don’t hold out much hope.

Just put a 2.6 NN on the back of my hardtails on a WTBi35 rim and it measures true to size. Also running a 2.8 NN on my non boost 27.5 Sweeps with a mudhugger. Bit of a squeeze but runs without any problem or touching.Did have to warm the mudhugger up and shape it to the bulges on fork legs. Not ridden the NN yet but ran with a 2.8 RR on the front before without problems.

Got the bugger on, air pressure on full and load of washing up liquid did the trick.Good tips over warming the tyre.
Tape was already fitted and does look shinny :-).
Never had any trouble with normal tyres and rims but this was my first go with plus tyres.

Already spraying with soapy water, may be I should use neat washing up liquid on the tyre bead?

Had my 2015 T130 for 3 year now and it’s covered nearly 5000 miles.
It’s had the bars, grips and stem changed and pikes extended to 140mm but other than that it still in standard form.

I run a mudhugger, front all year and a rear during the winter.Looks crap but keeps me dry.

    Cracking bike.

Weekend of two half’s weather wise, Saturdays ride round Ambleside had light winds, dryish trails and the rain held off. This mornings ride around Grizedale had strong windy, rain and the trails were like streams, absolutely soaked to the skin.

Weekend in the Lakes for me, probably ride around Ambleside tomorrow and Grisdale on Sunday, should be interesting given the forecast.

    sorry, missed your earlier post.

I took my wheel to Wheelbase in Stavely who couldn’t get a replacement ratchet ring from sram. They did send my wheel back to SRAM under warranty who then sent me a new wheel out even though the bike was coming up to 2 years old.The ratchet ring looks to be replaceable but I searched everywhere and rang everyone I could think off but could find one anywhere.
