I took my 12 speed GX Eagle off my new bike after 45 miles and changed to 11 speed GX.

The mech is way closer to the ground than 11 speed and seemed to collect lots of twigs etc.
Chain also came off and dragged mech into back wheel.

I had exactly this on my Whyte T130 with a Uber bottom bracket.
Only way I could fix it was to file the 2.5 spacer down.I removed 0.1 max and then it worked fine.

I’ve tried bedding them in but can’t seem to stop the vibrations. Worth trying to clean everything up and give the pad a rub with sand paper and try again?

I want to run an 11 speed gx mech with a 12 speed eagle shifter.

I don’t really need a 50t cassette and I think I’m going to struggle with the length and quality of a GX 12 speed mech.

Thats the reason I’ve had a few pairs, they are good in every other way apart from durability.

Ive just ordered a pair of Tenn Driven Waterproof cycling trousers,38% off and £28 , big fan of the Tenn waterproof shorts so took a punt , not a massive loss if there rubbish.

I’ve had a few pair of these but have finally given up on them due to the quality, they are just fall in pieces after half a dozen rides

LBS have sent the mech back to SRAM.

I did wonder how the longer mech would manage over rough terrain with rocks and bolder etc whilst in the top cogs as it seems to hang down a lot further than my 11 speed did. Guess I’ll find out once its back from SRAM.

It didn’t seem to have a lip on the bottom wheel but I didn’t have a picture for reference

Bike back in the LBS now, they had a quick look and seem to think there’s more play in the mech than should be.

Fingers crossed they can sort it out.

Coming from 11 speed it’s always worried me how low to the ground the mech is on a 12 speed and how easy it look to catch it on something but I didn’t get a chance catch it before it self destructed.

It’s a GX mech. I’ve just found the thread so I’ll check to see which jockey wheels I’ve got fitted but I’m guessing it will be the newer spec.

Bit disappointed with Eagle so far as it only lasted 40 miles before this. Wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary and 99% sure the mech didn’t hit anything.

Going to call into my LBS and see what they say

    cheers

I used loctite on mine when the splines were a bit worm and kept coming loose. Solved the problem.

You can stop over on the Ladybower Inn car park if you pop in for a pint or two.

I’m currently using a BL70 from Kaidomain in Neutral White 4000K which uses a single XHP.

It’s nice and  floody and also has plenty throw. Prefer it to  both my BT40s and  BT70.

Steady ride round Gorple and Widdup. Rode all the normally boggy sheep tracks which are now bone dry.

Not the best start to the weekend, had to miss the after work MTB  ride as I’d left my maxle at home, so had to drive home without riding.Did manage a ride on the CX  from home instead.

Lakes tomorrow and Hustwoods-Hebden area on Sunday.

Still enjoying my 2015 Arkose 4. Currently running Nano 40’s and managed to fit some mudguards with a bit of help from a hacksaw and heatgun.

Any chance a 650b will squeeze into this frame?

Here it is in all it’s glory after a very muddy ride

Thanks for the reply, yes from the factory it comes with nitrogen but works fine with air.

Mjsmke where does the thin plastic  ( tube I’m guessing?) go, though the center of the adapter?

    cheers
