Legs of the forks look too wide especially at the drop-outs, although that could just be the angle.

I took my Tissot into Beaverbrooks as the price direct with Tissot was horrendous. They still shipped it back to the Tissot facotory for its service but was half the price.

I got some of this in my advent calendar on Saturday. Seems rude to use it

Some discussion about it on the Seat forum. Lot of folk saying no issues but some chat about the fix causing the throttle body to coke up

@funkmasterp, i might hold you to that. We won’t be moving for a few more weeks and assume i’ll be on paint and fire duty for a little bit, but hopefully by Spring i’ll have some free time :)

Cheers guys. Plan is to try and do it twice per week to start, with return on the second day tied into a local club ride so i’ll get a tow for the second half of the ride home.

I’m riding the Mobberly – Astley road on a regular basis at the moment and i’ve not found it too bad. I’m tempted to skip Artists on the way home thoug

I’ll take a look at Google Maps.

The other thought i had was to ride across to Wilmslow then cut through Styal to Gatley then across towards Sale and jump on the canal.

Use them in mancehster regularly. Work a treat and significantly cheaper than the black cabs. I live about 5miles from the centre. Uber is about £12 for that journey, i’ve paid £50+ in black cabs before for the same journey 8O

    Here’s mine from sunny Manchester

Not as good as some of the ones above, but taken with a 200mm on a tripod. I used the onscreen display to zoom in and manually focus before taking the shot via remote.

Maybe if they looked at how painful the truth is. Can’t remember when I last shopped there.

Same here. I gave up on them a long time ago. It’s not like the competition (Wiggle/CRC/Merlin) got better, planetX just got immensley more sh**ter

I’ve a Surface Pro 3. I’d hapilly throw it under a bus. It does random things, the keyboard just stops responding on a regular basis, the first keyboard fell apart where it connects and it just stops responding at the slightest reasonable sized excel workbook.

Other than that, battery is good and handy when traveling. We’re moving to the HP Elite tablets instead now.

Last time i replaced the one on my old 307 i used a pipe adaptor for my recip saw. Made life a lot easier if you can pull it far enough out the way not to start cutting into the car

Beaches for a bit of surf in that area:
Porth Ceriad – Can get a very big
Hells Mouth – Lives up to its name
Aberdaron – Usualy half to 1/4 size of Hells Mouth
Whistling Sands – Better if its howling a southerly gale

Have a look at the surf report from WestCoastSurf that gets updated daily: http://www.westcoastsurf.co.uk/surfreport.htm

Depending on where you’re based, i mapped out the last part of it out from Bellingham to Hexham with the idea of getting dropped at one end and picked up with the other. https://www.strava.com/routes/6057280

It does look to be a lot of road but could just be that section.

Is the “Arse-o-meter” fool proof? I’ve never been too convinced by the advise from my local Evans?

You used to be able to do somethiing similar in Memory Map (you may still be able to) That had a topography view that you could overalay either the OS maps or a satalite image.

I made one of these. Bit of threaded bar and created a lip with an angle grinder and then put a split in it. Insert into frame. Jam screwdriver so the lips fit behind bearing. Then pull out using sockets and nut/washers. Worked a treat on my horst link ones

I used Wheelbase in North Manchester last year. I needed wheels as well. Alloys were only abou £10 per wheel more than it would have cost to get steel rims. Similar price to pretty much everyone else online.

For normal tyres i use http://www.tigertyres.co.uk/ Very good price wise and get them fitted at the Halfords Autocentre round the corner from work

I got my last ones from http://www.highonbikes.com but can’t seem to find them on their site now. I paid £9.95 each for them which at the time i think were the cheapest i could find

Jonny, i’d go short travel full suss every day of the week. There is a rough section over the border that goes on for some time. Some of the folk on CX bikes last year looked really un-happy after it!!

I’m still to decide what to snack on whilst riding. Went with Cliff bars last year but found after the first one it was far too mcuh effort chewing on them whilst climbing uphill

I’m signed up already and looking forward to it. Hoping the weather is similar to last year.

    What’s everyone riding?

I’ve just got a couple of 10’2″ O’Shea boards. Lots of volume and run at a slightly lower pressure than the others. Its hard enough getting to 15psi never mind 18+ that some of them run at.

I’m 95kg and plenty of volume for me in flat and the rough. As above, when you head upwind its quite tiring.

Awesome fun for exploring on the sea. If its windy i’ll go windsurfing!

Edit – Every thread needs a god in it!! :)

You can normally add another car to your policy for i think 14days. It could be less.

When i was in this situation i looked at the temp cover sites and they wanted £500+ for about 20days. In the end i transfered my old policy to the new car and then took out a new policy for the old one until i sold it and then canceled the policy. Cost me about £60 in the end from memory.

Fantastic service as always from him

Cheers. I’ll take a look. I’ve a feeling they’re in the outer positions.
I’ll just have to make sure my bike is not on the outside rack when we drive to France next week

I’ve just discovered bacon jerkey from a chap who sells billtong on the treacle market in Macclesfield. Its the most wonderful thing i’ve every tasted.

I’m starting to wonder if this is what the “special stuff” was in League of Gentlemen
