Cheers. It gets run on V-Power to hopefully that should help things. The garage is dry so hopefully no rot. The brakes have a bit of surface rust but nothing major.

It only goes out in the dry so i’m hoping everything else should be good.

Another vote for Purple Moose here. At this time of year the elderflower ale is lovely served chilled. There is also a brewery over in Nefyn at the end of the Lleyn Penisula. They do some corkers as well

As above rust is the main thing but if you’re handy with a welder all can be fixed. Have a look at the MOT history on the .gov website. You’ll be able to see if any issues have arisen before and potentially fixed. Mine showed several suspension parts being replaced over the years

Also don’t be afraid to ask to have a read through the history. The owners prior to me and myself have included pretty much all receipts and servicing history in a big folder. Holds to understand what’s happened in its history.

The only other bit is to crawl underneath and have a good poke with a screwdriver. If the owner says no I’d walk away. It’s easy to cover rust for a layer of underseal

Just using cat food in the form of IAMS Senior.

No action on the traps since 6am when i got rid of the one caught overnight. Was hoping to see if the electric one worked but that will have to wait for another day

I’ve got one in my Orangery. As Stoner says, it eats wood and burns best on small bits of wood at the back.

I also find unless you’re say very close to it, it doesn’t kick out that much heat. If you don’t keep on top of the wood and keep a good flame it has a tendancy to just pump smoke out the door which is a bit frustating.

I keep meaning to look on ebay for something better – a project for winter

I’m just about to register for all this for the first time as the little man arrived 3 weeks ago. The bit that no-one seems to be able to tell me is whether i need to declare the bonus i have earnt each year? Its not guaranteed so do i need to declare it, or is it all based off your P60?

We’ve moved the cat food upstairs as thats where she spends 95% of her time asleep on the bed (and washed the bowls etc)

Overnight i caught 1 more which i was a bit surprised about. We’ll see how today goes. I’ve got 3 traps set so they have plenty to go at

Well it’s been all quiet on the trap front since #3 so we’ll see how the night goes. Cat food as bait seems to be working well. Good job we just started an amazon subscription to it

Let’s hope not. Apparently the beef hoola hoop packet was just rubbish from the garden

Re-set all the traps but it’s gone quiet. Trying an electric one that puts out 7000v so we’ll see if that works

Just used a bit of Iams senior cat food. I had a frantic call from the mrs at lunch. Apparently she heard the 2nd trap go off so I’ve a second specimen to measure/photograph later.

I knew i should have got the ruler out to add scale to the picture this morning. Not sure the Mrs will be too keen to go routing through the bin to find it. I did however spot shes been hiding Beef Hoola Hoops from me. Words will be said

Haha, she certainly does. Shes useless. Sleeps about 23.5hrs per day and does nothing. Shes a lady of leisure now.

Its one of the big traps. Think it measure 2-3″ across

I presume he means the north end at the very top so the reverse of the way most people ride charity lane. If so it’s a nice decent. The rocks are bit like marbles so ride as fast as you dare

As “Scaled” said, blast down to the Crusing Club in sale and then jump on the TPT. From Salford Quays to the crusing club is a good surface. One little bridge with some steps on it, but the rest is hard pack with the odd patch of loose gravel. I do it regularly on my road bike but down to Timperley.

Not been on the TPT for years, so i’ve no idea what the surface of that is like but it used to be full of puddles in winter

Just gave the Scrfewfix degreaser a whirl by just spraying it on. Didn’t do much. I was hoping to not have to scrub at it, but perhaps a bit of “agitating” will get it to work

I’ve got a couple of O’Shea inflatable boards. In small waves they are good fun and easy to paddle into the waves. Not sure you’ll ever pull off any impressive cut-backs, but they are fun non the less.

The only challenge i found with the inflatables is paddling out. They can be hard work battling through broken waves

I sometimes run to work in Salford quays from Piccadilly station. I tend to follow the tram route across to castle field and then down the canal. Once you get to hotel football you can easily cut across to media city to run around the canal basin to mix it up and then back up the ship canal and cut over to the bridge water just before castle field

Fair point. On the beetle is was just 3 bolts so i bolted it all back in place and then tried it before putting all the dash back together

Just had similar on our oldish VW beetle 2004 – This had similar symptoms which over time got worse so it was either off or only #4 worked. At the same time the AC wouldn’t engage either.

For the beetle it was a failing “Heater/Blowe Resistor” that sits in the bottom of the blower. I replaced this (£8 ebay) and normal service has resumed. I had to remove some panels to get to it, but it was a 15min job to replace.

Could be worth have a google to see if ts a common problem for the Note. A quick google suggests you can get to it by just removing the glove box

    Hope it helps

I did it for the first time the other week. The start is a bit of effort and then it eases off a bit before kicking up st the end. It’s about 100-200m of 25%. I just weaved up it – Slow and steady all the way

Cheers for that although  i’m not convinced how correct it is. In Flixton for example the council closed the municipal golf course as they had sold the land for housing development. This doesn’t show on the map at all. In other cases the local church that is still in use has been identified as being a brownfield development site. that surprises me unless they plan to sell the car-park for development

I just welded one to the back of my old gt. Used the caliper to drill the holes for the bolts and then clamped the caliper on the disc to align to the frame so adjust the plate and then welded it on.

Its still going strong 10yrs on :)

I found the cheapest way after using the 14 days my existing policy gave me was to take out a new policy and then cancel once sold. Think this cost me about £50 in the end vs the £500+ the temp cover was going to cost.

If you do this, don’t tell them it’s only whilst you sell the car as they don’t like the idea it will only be driven for test drives and may refuse you

I’ve dabbled in SS over the last 10 years but more on the pub bike than anything else. I missed offloading my C456 but the 26″ crashed so it sat in the shed un-used. I eventually put some horizontal drop-outs on it and planned to use it for canal duties however after smashing up a wheel on my #1 bike and the seatpost failing on #2 i had to put this into action for a day round Coed Y brenin. In all honesty the hills were fine with a bit of effort and it was downhill i struggled due to running some rather s**t fake Jones bars and grips that kept moving. thats all fixed and ready for another outing. Its surprisingly easy once up to speed to keep going and i got loads of PR’s on climbs as you have no choice but to go a bit faster.

    Embrace the singlespeed

Worked fine for me the other week when i ordered some new forks. Also did it via a CashBack site and got an additional 6% (I think) off as well

I’ve used Partsgateway before and had a bit of a mixed repsonse.

First time was for a high pressure fuel pump. They sent the wrong one (Siemens instead of Bosch) they didn;t want the wrong part back but i had to wait a week or 2 for the correct one to come in. I ended up selling the incorect one for more than i paid so quids in.

Second time, i found the part i wanted but they wouldn’t remove it from the car before payment however they wouldn’t take payment over the phone. They expected me to drive to the yard to pay and they may be able to remove it whilst i waited.

Third time, no one had the basic part i wanted or prices were more than new

    I’ve not used them since

Cheers guys. Hadn’t thought about the internal width so need to check what my current ones are. As for going for the DH rim, that might be a bit overkill for my short travel Segment. then again it does encourage you ride faster than i normally would

A real shame. As most, i had never stopped till last week as it was a good drive up and across to Newcastle. We stopped the other week to checkout the snow condition and use the facilities. Ended up buying a painting that a local artist.

    Hopefully they’ll bounce back

And the addon to #2 where said driver gets really angry when someone dares to overtake them so they’ll flash their lights for 5mins even though the other driver is already half a mile down the road already!!

Last time i had this issue i emailed CRC. They asked for a screenshot of my BC account with the code and restrospectively applied the code and credited by card.

I can confirm it is the dreadul two car commuter. We did it the other weekend for a stag doo in Cardiff.

The one going down wasn’t too bad, but the one coming back was proper old school with rattly doors and uprigth seats. Not ideal when you’ve got a raging hangover

You can create shortcuts in the same way you can create shortcuts to documents on your desktop etc. No idea how you could create 70k plus of them though

I’ve got the older version of the G6 929. Easy to attach to the car and the bikes never move. Drove to France last year and the bikes hardly moved even after 1000miles and 17hrs of driving.

Not too bad on fuel either. I got 40mpg across the whole journey with 3 bikes and 3 people in the car doing a steady 85 all the way.

I did it two years ago and if a similar course it wasn’t that tough. The off-road sections were mainly flat so as long as you take it at a pace you’re happy with wasn’t too difficult. The big cobbled climb most folk walked.

It’s a good day out. If the parking is like it was the year I did it, get there early regardless of start time

I feel your pain. I moved into a house 12months ago where the chap’s daughter ran a plumbing business from. She’s done a runner to france and trying to get the business listings removed from my address is proving a nightmare. Even getting companies house to make changes is proving impossible.
