but this uneven tyre wear – is it a wavy wear pattern on the inside edge?
I get that with my Ibiza & my garage reckon it can be common on certain VAG group cars.

Its inside edge on the rear. Never looked to see if its wavy or not. I’ve tried Dunlops, Michelin and cheap none branded tyres and had the same problem.
I’ve been a bit more concious about tyre pressure this time round so hopefully they won’t wear too badly

I know this doesn’t help OP but personally in this day and age, if their email address returns zero google results I run for the hills!!

This is why i miss my 307 HDI  I actually enjoyed the challenge when new faults developed.

Pressure regulator in the high pressure pump was my favourite. That just used to go into limp home mode at random intervals. New pump fixed it.

As mentioned before if you can get a copy of Peugeot Planet it saves a lot of head scratching. The live data read outs can really help as it has reference values as well to compare to.

    Buy it

Check timing belt has been done, any damage to the roof along with any signs of damp from the roof drains blocking. Bar that they’re awesome fun.

I’ve got the 143 diesel and love it. Super comfy on long trips. Manchester – Nequay easy without a stop. As above zero legroom in the back if the driver is tall and the boot isn’t massive but I can still get two bikes (wheels off) in the back with loads of room to spare.

It handles well. I’ve had a bit of uneven tyre wear apparently due to the independent rear suspension. The last guy who fitted new tyres said just to make sure tyre pressure is exactly as stated and it should be fine.

Personally I’d make sure the stereo has the Mmi interface, and sat nav. It’s an expensive retrofit and whilst you can run music from a sub stick I’d prefer to have my old iPhone in there.

Other than that, they’re awesome and significantly cheaper than a much older Audi equivalent.

This should show you where all the washers go. Some of them can be directional but I’ve only seen that where the bearings sit for the linkages

Have a look at the diesel filter. Could be clogged and only a couple of quid to replace.

Cheers guys. Its actually for a friend out in Finland. he’s having no luck getting an answer locally.

Tracey, can you drop your command all the way down into the frame? (Lower 30.9 part) or does it get stuck on the bed by the shock linkage?

Another +1 for VW Sale. Take my SEAT there. Always had good service

Looking at the tech document they look significantly different. And the XT looks like the adjuster goes all the way through the lever rather than just screwing in.

    http://si.shimano.com/php/download.php?file=pdf/ev/EV-BL-M785-3158A.pdf

You could buy a new lever assembly but probably cheaper to just buy a whole new XT or Saint Lever

Cheers guys. I’ll probably give the dinitrol a go.

All the major rot has been removed so there was something solid to weld back to, so anything left is just slight surface rust now.

I’m hoping to never have to do this ever again or not on this car anyway

Another +1 for the 910 XT. It looks chunky but never had an issue getting my wetsuit off over it. You can build in the transitions as well so you know exactly how long each leg has taken

Have a look at textmarketer (I think). They seem quite cheap even for low volume but allow some element of automisation and have from experience good support

I did my 08 Enduro in summer which is very similar design.

Biggest problem was drive side main pivot that had collapsed completely. I had to use a blind puller and a lot of force to remove it.
Horst ones were tricky but I just used a small drift and worked round. Came out easily enough. In the past I got the Specialized Concept Store in Chester to do the horst ones for about £30 excluding bearings.

Time and patience is the key.

Looks easy enough. Getting the bolts that hold the caliper carrier to the hub is usually the hardest part.

glasses123.co.uk for me. Sign up to their newsletter for extra discount. Only used them for the Oakleys which have been fine.

Snow was still knee deep on the top on Saturday morning. If it’s melted enough to ride it’ll be a bog fest

@JonEdwards We got past the turnoff and a fair bit further on where it starts to flatten out after the short steep rocky section. It got to the point where it was just knee deep powder and no sign of the path. We wanted to carry on to where they put the rock slabs down after the river crossing but it got to the point where we wouldn’t have been able to ride it all the way back down.

From where we stopped and turned we rode about 75%. Its entertaining ploughing through snow banks :)

We were trying to work out today how the BM got where it did without hitting the sign behind it. That must have been a bit of a brown trouser moment!!

I’ve used calf guards for post running recovery. I was warned against the socks as my calfs were small in comparison to my feet so they would have been too slack. I got measures in the shop so I made sure I got the correct size.
I’ve never run in them. I’ve been to some triathlons where they’ve been banned.
As above I just use them for post run recovery along with a session on the foam roller which normally brings tears to my eyes!!

Have a gander on ebay. Theres a Fox float and a CCDB with the specialized special “end” on there at the moment.
They’re off enduro’s but if the stumpjumper is the same i2i and stroke you’re on to a winner

I just pressed hope bearings into Shimano cups. Still going strong 3 years later.
They Just need a bit of a clean and regrease every now and again when they start to get noisy.

Well worth the money in my opinion

I’m in the process of trying Gas Permeable lenses. I have a strong stigmatism so need torric lens if I use dailies. By going GP they aren’t weighted I believe so should be better for biking.

I’ve not actually ridden with them yet as I only got them last Friday. The only problem so far is they irritate a bit due to them being hard but I’ll get used to them with time.

The guys in Vision Express at the Trafford Centre were really helpful. Could be worth popping in for their free trial??

Couple of ideas from something I’m looking into at the moment:

    – Openly addressing the Brutal facts
    – Acting on suggestions
    – Involving team members
    – Team leader embracing critical feedback
    – Inspiration
    – Coach to improve performance
    – Agreed goals for development

    Hope it helps
