I’m away until Monday now so won’t be on this thread. I guess we should give it a bit more time to see if anyone else is interested, but from the looks of it at the moment it’s still going to be the 1st…
I’m on 750’s but find myself gripping right at the outside of the grip with my hand hanging off a bit. Next set I get I’m gonna try a little wider, but then 750 seems a good compromise around Cannock.

One of the worst things about being a student in 2013 is that with the internet being so huge and its content so thoroughly archived, your embarrassing lack of self-awareness will be set in silicon for the foreseeable future. At least when I was a mechanical engineering student in the late ’90s there were no forums to argue on, just email digests and message boards so dialogue was much more difficult and thus less prone to letting you make a fool of yourself. Google this thread in 5 years time and cringe…
Just sold my Rev’s to a mate to raise cash for my new build, so yesterday I took my Soul to Cannock and ragged it around with rigid forks on. It was lots more fun than you might think, especially passing several full sus riders along the way :P
Can’t justify the Fox 34’s. It just seems like a crazy amount of money for a suspension fork. The new Pike might be nice but is probably too much travel really and again, silly money. Wish I could try some slants before I plum for them!
Thanks neninja. Ouch, those prices hurt! Makes me wonder weather to just go for it from one of the German companies and hope that Jungle will still sort it out if it does go wrong :/
I just cut patches out of all the old inner tubes I have hanging around now and the tube of vulcanised rubber solution left over from the repair kit to patch them.
I am tempted by a burlier fork, I’m 95-100kg geared up and ride fairly aggressively I’d say. Thanks for the tip off on the Slant harrypb, does look like a very strong contender. I’m just a bit concerned about the lack of low speed compression adjustment.
