@walowiz thanks! It’s been a good investment. A warm clean space with decent lighting makes all the difference

I’ve also used hardware from the rolling centre.

Ordered a 3M section of the monorail and then used the 4RCF small carriage holders.  Then purchased the park threaded hangers with some 8mm thread couplers to fix the hooks to the carriages.

You want an invoice. It is a business.

Trying to make out you’re doing him a favour is going to end in disaster.

He gives you price that both are happy with,I don’t see what the problem is

It’s his business, I’m sure he will tell you his rate.

Just let him price the job with a cost he’s happy at. If you don’t like it just leave it.

Trying to dictate a self employed persons rate isn’t going to end well

I’m not sure this is going to work at all.  The specific heat of air is low. Moving a small volume of air with a bathroom type fan will result in very little effect.

I supply and install mechanical heat recovery units into residential homes. The amount of people think that you can re distribute heat using an full mvhr system is unbelievable.

Even if you had a energy efficient home with low air permeability you would still struggle to distribute the heat with the amount of air changes we are talking about.

60 odd quid per square metre fitted by a professional/company is about right.

You would be paying minimum 25 quid SQM for the basic range, just for the material.

Any less and I would expect a substandard job.

Labour is always going to be the at least half the cost of the job. There are alternatives to Kardean but I think you would be compromising on quality

I’d suggest having a look at Ilkeston Cycle Club rides (all posted on Strava and no issues with non-members just turning up for ride). Ask the questions about what people want and if the club would be interested in a local sponsor willing to offer benefits to their members.

I really wouldn’t bother with Belper. None of the shops have been a success, I’d but it down to location and the relatively low number of cyclists that use Belper for local support.

I’d look at Ilkeston, in particular the low cost shop rental would keep overheads low. Ilkeston has a cycle club that has grown from nothing to over 400 in 3 years. The ilson rides all take place from the market place and the number of new riders going means there are real opportunities to guide newcomers and influence their bike choices. Having strong links with a club and investing in a local cycle community is what will help local bike shops standout.

Belper is a poor choice, not enough neighbouring towns to make it worthwhile in my opinion

Is the majority of your work with domestic or commercial customers?

With the bespoke design and quality you offer you should really be focusing on the customers that’s value your skills. Commercial will enable you to charge for the design and consultation process

I’d say 8k for a reasonable car. Although all this is dependent on your mileage if you are on a PCP or lease hire.

Bear in mind you need to cover maintenance, insurance including business mileage and a rental car should you ever have an issue with your own

I can’t see this lasting! Especially with issues on condensation and sagging due to the weight.

If you’re happy with it though, good luck to you.

I’d be interested to see what it looks like from the outside

Great, thanks for all the advice so far. I’ll definitely try and encompass a ride with Larig Ghru.

Is the best way of crossing the river Spey and into the Feshie via the bridge at Kincraig. The only other option seems to head in the other direction to Aviemore alongside the Speyside trail?

It’s been agreed the company would actively market in the regions I would be contracted to. Although the majority of the leads would come from industry knowledge and existing contacts.

    Donated.

I remember Pete from the UK Gravity Enduros and his videos posted on here. His love and passion for the sport really stood out.

It looks like the MTB is really starting to support him during his recovery. I can’t see much input from Whtye Bikes GB considering they sponsored him during is the time in the Enduros.

I’ve shared my post on Instagram with them but can someone do the same on FB as I don’t have an account?

Not in my illustration from BMW Finance i dont.

The only reason payments are less with a PCP is because they are based on total amount payable minus the balloon payment. However you still pay interest on the total amount payable INCLUDING the balloon payment.

I don’t believe my BMW finance deal is any different from anyone elses.

Currently trying to balance this. Thing is with PCP is you don’t pay interest on the deferred amount, which lowers the payments. With the bank you’re paying back the whole amount suing the term.

Absolute bobbins, when you take out a PCP you are borrowing the full cost of the car less your deposit.
You pay interest on the full amount borrowed

So you get the 45p/25p mileage allowance on top of your car allowance?

If so your quids in! I can’t understand what all the fuss is about.

Whichever car you choose, I’d always prefer to lease in your scenario.

Why pay an annual APR rate on a car you are going to hand back? At least with leasing you aren’t paying an interest rate back to a finance company.

Have you any hands-on experience within a trade?

If not I would suggest talking to your local college, to begin with. Depending on your age the preferred route into the trade industry is via an apprensticeship.

Obviously, once you get to a certain age this isn’t really feasible. Don’t make the mistake of thinking a couple of qualifications will enable you to start on your own. I wouldn’t want an inexperienced professional fitting my boiler.

Kitchen fitting and bathroom fitting would be a good way in if you have a certain skill set.

You’ve spoken about this before. Can you not just ride down Bolehill and ride up to the trig from the carpark.

    Why bother with the agro?

If it’s a new house and extremely well insulated then an air to water are a good solution to those not being on the gas grid system.

Modern heat pumps will allow temperatures up to 65C which is good for water and heating. Even in low ambient temperatures, the supply temperatures should be achievable. The system would need sizing correctly. It is better to slightly undersize the unit rather than go to big.

Have a look at the Daikin Altherma range and ask for a selection for the required duty.

Do you have a fuel card or can you claim business mileage at HMRC advisory rates?

Business mileage for a fuel efficient petrol/hybrid is a nice little earner.

As MoreCash says. Long Eaton in Notts is where all the highend beech framed sofas are made. You can buy direct and costs will be similar to DFS etc…

There are at least 5 or 6 companies you can deal with in that area.

I assume the car is registered to you or your wife and not a company car?

The time taken to contact an employer than back to the DVLA takes a fair old while.

If it registered to you then I would definitely challenge it.

It’s not a stain. So depending on the current state of the wood it just brings the colour out.
You would probably end up one shade darker than you are now.

I’ll try and find a photo later as I’m off out now.
