You can get most decent tyres in 700 x 25mm now.

Just checked and you can find Contis in 25 and 24, michelin pro race 4 service course and schwalbe ultremo zx’s in 25mm. Most are about 215/230 grams so aren’t exactly heavy.

25mm are the future. I’ve used them from everything from Paris-Roubaix, Sheffield roads and some triathlons and they aren’t any slower. They are noticeably comfier.
    I rate the folding Gatorskins.

    Paris – Roubaix and Volcanoes

PR was quite useful as I rode half the route earlier this year

We just did the one day session with NHS, which was very good. It was much more informative than I expected and the midwives were very approachable. A breast feeding specialist came along too and was also very informative. I don’t think there were any teens at our class – virtually everyone was late 20’s+.
Our friends did NCT and NHS and the thought the NHS to be better. But it’s down to you really.
Apparently NCT is good if you are new to an area/ want to make new friends etc.

Western red cedar, larch or oak are all good. It may be a case of what you can get locally though.

I’d just go down the local woodyard and see what they have in stock & would recommend.

I’d recommend Cape Fear (the remake with De Niro) or Inglorious Basterds.
Drive, whilst good, is a bit slow

Under no circumstances should you watch ‘The Adjustment bureau’ -possibly the worst film ever

I’ve just fitted an ikea kitchen for a friend and i just modified the back panel of the oven carcass. The gas pipe came up from the floor -so i just split the back panel in two. There was loads of room for the pipe.

It seemed quite good quality for the money – esp the drawer runners. It was from the Faktum range and came flat packed – I think it only cost about £1200 all in (small terraced kitchen)

No, its unlikely that they are supporting the stairs. The ceiling joist and wall normally holds up your stairs (if next to a wall).

They are normally fitted like this although this picture shows short newel posts

La Haine – watched last night. Been wanting to watch it for years. 7.5/10. A good (classic) movie, but i felt that it was missing something.

    Mesrine next.

Our 54 plate clio was ace – we’ve only just swapped it for a focus (5 doors instead of 3); and to be honest i prefered driving the clio. Low running costs, drove well and i could fit two bikes in it.

Can i suggest for people using Paypal, that you use a different password for ebay, your email and Paypal.

My paypal account was hacked a few years ago and it seemed that someone had also hacked my email too. At the time the passwords were the same.

i should have said they’re not my wheels for sale – i just pointed them out as they’re quite well priced and they should last a good while

i suppose they’re not that light. But rear bearings in pro 2’s aren’t that good either – the new evo versions are meant to be much better.
For lighter weight american classics would be better

Buy these– my xc hubs are about 8 years old now (i’m the second owner) – i’ve changed the bearings once in the last 3 years and clean the pawls about once every 18 months (if I remember).

Even if you need to buy new bearings for them, they’re only about £15 for a full set

    Voodoo Marasa[/url]

I own a ‘halfords’ voodoo marasa, and i probably buy another bike from them. It rides well and was good vfm.

ps check the bb shell – my bb was fitted dry 😯

i’d buy a bigger house. It’ll be cheaper and easier.

ps cost will probably be approx £1300+ per square metre for single storey

You could try angle aluminium or similar and stick it on sideways. I think you can buy it pre coloured.

Get a decent metal one. The ‘fingers’ on plastic ones can sometimes be too wide and not transfer detail that well.

If your cutting stuff to fit round pipe work, you may as well drill the hole (same same as the pipe or a mm larger)and saw to it, rather than trying to cut a half circle out.

We went for a full survey and am quite glad we did. We didn’t buy the property due to the survey finding two bad structural defects.

i’d second strapping your ankle up (just use a basic bandage and safety pins)- my right ankle is a bit dodgy and i’ve started doing this for off road runs and it helps a great deal

I had a primaloft jacket (a lightweight OMM smock) and found it not that warm at all. My £6 fleece from Go Outdoors is better.

We had a polo too and it was very dull. The spec wasn’t very good for the price either. The clio that replaced it was much better to drive and overall a great car. We have a Focus now.

Out of the four i’d get the fiesta.

    Voodoo

I bought a Voodoo marasa from Halfords* for £350.

    * apart from the bottom bracket shell not having any grease in it (bb was fitted dry) it was built quite well

I’ve just done it. Handed my notice in and going to college next week to train as a joiner. I’m going to work part time/ try and get work experience whilst on my course (hopefully).

We’re only here once and were going to be working for nigh on 45 years; so you may as well do something you fancy.

    Good luck whatever you do.

Tron – other way round. Merida own part of spesh.

A guy at work has a chinarello. I would say its extremely well made/ finished. Unless you were a seasoned bike geek you can’t tell its a fake. I would quite happily buy/ ride one.

A lady at work gave me a quick tip the other day for sloes. When you’ve made your sloe gin, keep the sloes and put them in a bottle of sherry – apparently it makes a nice liquor(sp) type drink!

Lots of apples to peel tonight – probably make some apple chutney and stewed apple for pies/ crumbles etc. Made some nice beetroot chutney the other week – beetroot from our friends allotment.

Another vote for Toots & the Maytals.

We saw them at the 02 academy in Sheffield last year and they were excellent – Toots had so much energy.

biga1 – you are confused slightly; Scunny is asking about Fox Hagg.

Fox Hagg is Lodgemoor area (edge of golf course and along the valley side) – Blacka moor is near Owler Bar (behind Dyson).

I bought this The art of wheel building – Gerd Schraner

I thought it was good value for money and would recommend it.
