If you are nearer Ashbourne you could try Thorpe Cloud. It’ll be easier than Kinder, but is still a good little walk from the base by the river. There is also the benefit of the stepping stones across the Dove at the bottom.

I’d second footflaps. That’s what we did and it makes putting the fence up very straight forward.
I fastened the wooden post to the concrete post before concreting. Then pinned some battens to the wooden post that then ran to the ground (at 45 deg) whilst it went off.

To hide the concrete post just put them on the neighbours side…..

We went pre kids and its a great place. Lots to see and do. Food is great too.

Swimming boating on the lake(s). Mountain climbing too. Lake Bohinj is also worth a visit. We walked up the mountain next to it to the ski station, got the chairlift down and then the ferry on the lake. It was quite easy to hire bikes there too.

We also went down the old mercury mine at Idrija, which was very impressive.

The caves in the Karst region are very impressive too.

The Bee museum is also worth a trip.

We stayed in three places; Lake Bled, Hudicevec tourist farm[/url] and Llubljana.

Canyoning in a thunderstorm (Lake Bled/ Bohinj area) was also quite a rush, but may not be advised.

We’ve got a Weeride and its pretty solid. I have to put my knees out a bit, but it is ok for up to about an hour/ 1h15. Its quite nice having our little ones up front to talk to and be able to point things out etc, rather than dangling them off the back.

I should add that I think my bike handles better with a little one in a Weeride than having fully loaded panniers as the weight is central. With loaded panniers or rear child seat it can get a bit tail wagging the dog.

I use an Aldi running jacket for the colder mornings (I have a very long downhill almost straight from the door). It was £4 in the discount section. Packs tiny and only struggles in heavy rain. I won’t suggest its ‘very’ breathable, but it has vents and I don’t generally over-heat in it. Along with my Northwave mtb boots its been my best purchase for a while.

I’d pay for it or buy a flat/ house with more storage instead.

As above, if you don’t pay they’ll start moaning about your bike inside.

*Alternatively you could always buy a folder and keep it in your flat, not pay for anything and never speak to your neighbours again.

A colleague has a Pashley trike (from Evans on btw) with a hamax child seat fitted. It even came with a stand fitted….

Ride the sections as fast as you can and don’t grip the bars too tight. I found the drops best. I used 25mm kevlar gatorskins and they survived. Enjoy it. The velodrome finish is ace.

We have had some Axminster li ion batteries for makita and after a while they won’t charge. The genuine ones seem to last longer imo

T2X. It’s in a living room/ dining room. Probably about 12 x 26 feet. We don’t have it very loud as the neighbours are church mice/teachers, but I’d recommend it for ease of use. I just run it off my phone or our tablet. We didn’t want a separate NAS. For the price I think they’re hard to beat.

We went for a Pure Jongo instead. Seems great so far.

We did what urban hiker suggested above and removed the thermal linings from the curtains in our living room bay window and now have a lot less condensation (hardly any in fact). We also open the curtains slightly at night too.

You could try a Pure Jongo instead.
We really like ours and the app works well. No NAS required, just use a tablet or phone.

As above. Sharp mattock. Dig as much soil away as possible first though.

    Watch your shins. Good luck.

Similar to Trailrat; Ours took about 3 or 4 small fires and then 1 longer fire for it to go. It did stink a bit to start, but no smells anymore.

Don’t have a full blown fire for the first few fires. Just light small ones and let them burn out (that’s what our installer told us anyway).

If you like planning, marking, moaning colleagues and indifferent children then go for it. It is very hard work but can be rewarding. The holidays are good, but are often needed for you to survive mentally.
Ps I taught DT for 2 years. I now work as a technician at a large university with quite a few former teachers.

The tektro one on Edinburgh bike coop looks like it should fit. Otherwise I think sjs do a generic one.

We have Makita at work, but the Hitachi at £99 is good.

At home i had an 18v Dewalt lead acid (v heavy), died after about 12 years and has been replaced with this . I got it on a deal for about £80 and its been v good so far

An mtb chainset will be fine, esp if loaded, but may be a bit low for general riding. A 26/36/46 or 28/38/48 would probably be a better bet.
Spa and SJS are good for sq taper chainsets if you are looking to buy one.

We buy our timber from Arnold Laver. I think they also do laminates/ formica too.
The birch faced ply is quite good quality (and heavy in 15/18mm guises).

Do not run out of nappies. Buy lots of wipes too. There is a direct correlation between the sizes of a baby poo and how few wipes you have left.
Don’t forget that motd is on early on a Sunday morning.
Listen to everyone else’s advice and then make up your own mind.

Ps online food shops can save alot of hassle.
Pps plan some easy meals. And get some takeaway menu’s in.

Good luck. Its quite good fun.

You might try jesmonite instead of concrete. Look up ac730. Its often used instead of concrete now for decorative and reproduction work.

Plane it. Mark either side with a pencil and keep going until you get rid of the lines. Then finish each edge with some abrasive paper.

If you find you need to take off more than 5mm, buy a decent panel saw and mtfu.

If you cant clamp the door to plane it, stand it on edge on some carpet offcuts and sit on it!

2nd vonplatz about pickpockets – do be careful – my mum had her wallet pinched after being there only about 20 minutes (on the metro).

If you want to go to a museum try Reina Sofia. The Prado and Thyssen are very good, but I prefer Reina Sofia.

I know that they are not all compatible, but shimano 600 (ultegra) was pretty standard and most std shimano freehubs should* fit it.
The worst that can happen is that the newer freehub may be slightly wider than your old freehub.
*DA may not (although a bogo cheap 9 speed freehub does fit my da 9 speed hub but is about 1mm wider)

From the picture I’m pretty sure that any 8/9 speed shimano freehub should fit it.

Boots all the way. Overshoes are great but at some point, normally when you most need them, something fails. I use Northwave Celsius GTX now.
ps The Polaris boots are nice, but very narrow.

If it is for auction you’ll (more than likely) have to pay 10% on the day. I think you have a set amount of time to provide the rest of the money.

My brother bought his with an agricultural 10 year loan. He now has 3 large sheds and a temporary dwelling on his. At some point he’s going to apply to build a permanent house.

Its not guaranteed that you wouldn’t get planning for a dwelling, it just may take a long time; so don’t ever dismiss the idea.

Putting a shed up should be quite straight forward. Have a chat with the council planning officer first; I think in some cases planning is not required.

One tip; If you do get it, recess the gateway so you can park off the road whilst you unlock the gate.

My Kinesis 5t was the best bike I’ve ever sold! It was that good I’ve just bought another. It did everything from a very hilly 100mile sportive, triathlons and commuting. It even did the 3 peaks and some road races in between.

Sounds like the bike didn’t fit your friend or his mate very well.

On the subject of time trialling this is quite interesting

Andy Wilkinsons TT bike; used for everything from commuting and touring and lots of very fast tt’s incl a 50 in 1h37 to 541 miles in 24hours etc.

We did controlled crying, with me going in rather than the mrs.
It took a while, (4 nights?) but seems to work.
I’m guessing it doesn’t work in every situation.
    Good luck.

Twice. Once supply teaching and the other was Planet X (left after 7 days).
I don’t mind hard work, but trying to do 3 people’s jobs with no training takes this piss somewhat.
