Cheers. I’ve got a 5010v2 too so this is for winter and odd local race as I don’t find the 5010 that racy compared to the v1 I had. Got a. Voodoo Bizango so liking 29 it’s just a tad heavy and sore on the back.
Also looking at Carbon HT frames !!

I could only find an adaptor in the uk for a front pro4 not the rear. Needed it asap so bit the bullet on a new hub and rebuild

Wil be running minion 3c front and rear this year John. Ran specialized butcher and purgatory last year no bother. Hr2 would b ok I reckon. You gone tubeless yet?

Why should a trail centre be fast and smooth? If it was someone else would moan I am sure.

Being local as well I like it, it’s a tough xc course and is fast and rough in places. So are the lakes !

Can’t remember last time I got puncture there or the lakes either

Agree the blue could be a lot better, one good bit but ride to it is poo – lack of money by then I think.

I am on a v1 and its my only bike. I ride everywhere on it – trail centres, local trails (ae, mabie, tweed valley etc), endures, spain, lakes, xc races, ten under type events and so on.

I have a set of 150mm Pikes on the front which are great. ok on really rough stuff it may get a bit overwhelmed but that’s not what its designed for or I bought it for. For 90+% of my riding its brilliant.

Ratboy types and some on here who are better riders will exploit its capabilities even more.

am under no impression its not going to be easy to keep clean and running smooth and living up north I expect it will get dirty – a lot. so thanks for the experiences of those that have the bike i’ll take them on board and let you all know if disaster strikes

wife loves the bike and just wants us to do all we can to keep it running

    cheers

cheers guys. its brand new last week so trying to understand how to keep it going without toing and froing on warranties. I wonder if a thinner grease/oil may help with lubing as its tight?

I would go back. Its local to me and familiarity helps no end. At the annual Hardrock duathalon top times are under 1hr 10mins so you can get some speed up when you know the lines.

i use mine for anything and everything as its my only mtb. Use it in the lakes, munro bagging, enduro’s, ten under the ben, local xc races and so on.

Does it all no bother. I am sure a bigger nomad type bike may be better on big hills but I didn’t have any problems.

Just put a 150mm Pike on it which has slackened it and made a difference for steeper trails. may drop to 140mm yet though

    thumbs up from me 🙂

Hi, yep I’ve had one for 18month now and it’s my only mtb. Used it for xc races, 10 utb, puffer, enduros, big days in the lanes and highlands and its all good. Mines got a revelation on it but I’d say go for a pike if you can.
No issues as such except keeping on top of the pivots as they sometimes seem to work loose. Stiff and light.
I’m 6’2″ and ride an xl with 60mm stem.
    Don’t think you’d be disappointed
    Cheers

6’2″ with an xl and 50mm stem. Feels spot on. It’s my only bike and I do everything on it – XC races, 24hr, munros, lakes etc etc.

You can let the neg air out of the valve in lower leg under the bolt. Be sure to let all air out of pos first. This may cure it initially. If it doesn’t strip em down as some grease may be blocking the transfer port.

lot of snow in Dumfries area last night and this morning. Apparently even the local trails under the trees are pretty snowy so main trails will be too. Its thawed a bit this afternoon and tomorrow is meant to be clear so things should improve. Forecast is cold though so ice is very probable.
i’m off tomorrow and was meant to be biking – just cant decide where is going to be suitable. Like to go to ambleside

Grease lower pivot once a month. Upper pivot bearings, two had seized. Not sure if covers weren’t on right or not.

Had to replace all the top ones within 9 months. The bottom pivots came loose a few times but seem ok now. Need to keep an eye on them.
Probably worth a full service of the lower pivot soon as it’s on its second winter.

Had mine a year now. Xl and I’m 6′ 2″.
Use it for everything as it’s my only mtb now. It’s been up and down sticks and dolly wagon on helveyn no bother. Lots of lakes rides and local tracks around the seven stanes sites. It’s done a few races/enduros and ten under as a soloist.
I’ve a RS rev on mine at 140mm but would be keen to try a pike on it. Climbs brilliantly.
    Great bike.

Did mine 4 years ago. 2 weeks to let swelling down then they operated. 7 pins and 2 plates. Following the op I had 8 weeks no wait bearing then physio started. This was sore but soon started to feel better. Don’t get me wrong it ached a lot. Think I started riding in October again so about 3 months.
Still get aches now but think I have been lucky from others stories you hear.
I was healthy at the time and did everything the docs told me as I really wanted to get better and back on the bike.
Biggest risk I was told was infection during the op !

Hope his new ventures go well and we see him riding more again.

just called silverfish and they are now saying that they will replace the faceplates. So LBS can send back and then back to normal operations soon

We have two of these stems both with serial numbers below that stated by raceface. I contacted silverfish and they said take to local dealer for return. When lbs contacted silverfish they have said hold off until they confirm with RF.

Getting confused as to whether there is an issue or not or if I am going to be left with two stems that may have an issue so probably won’t use

Come on RF & silverfish give us an answer please?

I just put a raceface n/w on my xt 2x chainset with the bolts that came with it. Seems fine. A bit of noise in 1st gear at the start.
Funnily enough when I went to put a new chain on it made a helluva noise. Weird. So just left it

dashed – how long did that take?
we’ve had him 5 weeks and no real improvement that i can see. Once he has been sick he takes 2 steps back and we start all over again. Just feel guilty putting him in there so he gets stressed and pukes but he loves it when we get to the forest/beach etc and runs about like a looney
