Our previous dog reached 7 having no issues then needed veterinary care and soon racked up 10k of bills, Petplan were amazing and quickly paid out, we certainly had our moneys worth from the insurance.

Our second dog was insured with bought by many, the policy was cheaper and they have been ridiculously slow at dealing with claims but have still paid out over 7k in total including refund the cost of purchasing him once he passed.

I was diagnosed in my early twenties and prescribed naproxen, take 3 a day and it keeps it at bay along with as much exercise as possible. Walking is especially beneficial and seems to loosen me right up. Alcohol makes it much worse so I barely drink. I work shifts and nights/tiredness definitely make it worse. Had some horrific flare ups over the years.

I was getting uveitis every 6 months or so for years but haven’t had a case in years now after losing weight, getting fitter and exercising more. A mate described me as the bus from Speed, you just have to keep moving as much as possible.

Do you have roof rails? If so look at the funky leisure awning rail, we’ve been using it and it’s spot on!

My local Lidl sold me and a mate the last 2 at 9 last night, they said they had 4 in total and had already sold 2!

We went to the next town and the Lidl superstore had over 10 and hadn’t sold any!

I was diagnosed at 22, 14 years on and I’m doing alright, take Naproxen everyday and can tell if I skip a dose. I’ve been through spasms, dozens of Uveitis requiring treatment and some bad flare ups as they call them. I decided to get as active as I could and lost over 25kgs.

I’m now doing better than ever thanks to just keeping moving, I got a dog that needs hours of walks, cycle as much as I can and run twice a week. Recently started stretching/yoga and it helps a bit. I sometimes focus so much on keeping active/moving that I run myself into the ground with exhaustion making it worse for a week or so but soon bounce back after some rest. Having a 2 year old doesn’t allow much time for sitting around to get stiff!

I tried a few dietary changes but not convinced they helped, only one I stuck with avocados a few times a week as they are high in anti-inflammatory properties.

Both me and a mate have trail dogs and regularly ride at Cannock just very very rarely the dedicated trails as even the most well trained dog will get in someone’s way.

A few times I’ve started the Follow The Dog trail with my hound and realised its busy so turned off and headed for the off piste or fire roads!

The biggest problem with riding with the dog is he’s so fast that we catch a lot of riders who can be startled by 35kgs of dog charging past followed by me flat out blowing like a steam train to keep up, he then waits at the end of the section.

I did see a chap whilst I was walking with a trail dog yesterday at Cannock and thought that’s a terrible idea as it’s probably the busiest its ever been.

I would never take mine to a trail centre at a weekend or bank holiday etc.

The back wheel of the XL is wedged between the seat and side of the van with the front wheel turned. With the dog crate out I had a 29er trance and my XL trance in with wheels on with a fair amount of room in the middle left.

I’m quite lucky that my wife’s bikes are XS so with front wheel off they slot in anywhere!

I have one with 3 seat bench in the back, I have an extra large dog crate and can fit my XL Giant Trance 27.5 in with wheels on and my wife’s XS hardtail with front wheel off.

If it didn’t have the dog crate you could fit 3 or 4 without much faff.

Mine came with 20” load rated alloys on, I keep thinking of going down to 18 or 17” to make the ride a bit softer and mpg a bit higher, will it make that much difference?

I purchased it from cycle solutions using C2W, they paid for the repairs at the LBS for the rear wheel, I had the front trued since then but didn’t bother to contact them.

I will email them my tale of woe and see what they say, don’t really want to be without the wheels for a while!

Mine tends to get thorns stuck in his pads as opposed to cuts and I keep thinking of trying shoes but imagine he will chew them off within seconds! Ruffwear do a good range.

We just spent 4 nights at Cropton for the second time with our 18 month old.

The cabins are great and an 18 month old is easily entertained running round the cabin and forest. We use them outside of holidays so paid £350 for 4 nights which included £15 per night for the dog.

The location is great for us as we can get straight into the forest with the dog and it’s only a short drive to Whitby for fish and chips and Dalby Forest for some biking. Next time I’ll take the CX bike and explore the local forest/moors a bit more.

I fessed up as I’m honest unlike most of you, this was the response:

    Hi David,

    Thanks for letting me know.

If you could do one thing for me I would very much appreciate it! The code is for use specifically for users registered with the trial taking place there. Road.cc shared this discount code by accident and we’ve had to refund several orders already. If you can pass this info onto the forum post, it would make my life and everyone who has ordered the light’s life a lot easier!

I have used Pro Cycle Hire 5 times and had no problems at all, decent enough bikes if not a little battered.

This year I used Arrivo cycling and cant recommend them enough, I had a brand new Giant Defy which they took time in setting up for me and sorted a problem with it I caused with no fuss.

They deliver or have a shop at Duva Hotel and another somewhere in PP.

Me and two mates flew to Mallorca 7 years ago at the end of February after reading about it being a cycling paradise.

Had the map everyone recommends with the cycle routes on but not one Garmin between us and it was pre free data abroad so we didn’t take our phones out on the ride.

We mainly took summer/spring gear as it’s always warm in Mallorca we thought, set out for a 100km ride from Alcudia down the east coast returning on some minor inland roads.

After an hour it started bucketing down with rain and dropped to single digits temperature, soaked, cold and starving we made it to Cala Ratjada to find everywhere closed it being a Sunday in February!

We set off on what we thought was the direction back in what was now relentless sleet, after an hour or so of miserable riding in silence we stopped to check the map and we were near Portocolom, we had pedalled completely the wrong direction and were now completely fed up.

We managed to find a cafe open and sat dripping wet and shivering in our summer gear whilst waiting for a taxi to come and get us and 3 bikes with locals taking pity on us giving us hot chocolates and towels.

To top of the day after finally warming up back at the hotel we went out for food only for my mate to slip on the wet marble stairs and bang his head and have a seizure.

It was apparently the worse winter they had in 11 years!

@daveylad Not once has a trail dog got in my way, plenty of other riders, kids and walkers have though, should they all stay at home?

My German Pointer has done 17 miles with me, that’s me doing 17 miles with him covering much more chasing things! We ride once a week normally around 12 miles and 400m of climbing.

As with most dogs he’ll run until his legs fall off and he’s a big dog at 35kg so we take plenty of water stops and try and keep him calm but he just wants to run.

I have used Arrivo cycling for hire bikes a couple of times recently, brand new Giants and faultless customer service. The bike blew over whilst I was having a coffee and bent the mech hanger along with a few scratches, they fixed it with no quibbles.

I have had my haircut in Peru, Vietnam and Turkey and every time they used the same thing you describe, a big black block of vibrating rubber being moved around your arms and shoulders!

First time it happened my wife fell out of the door laughing so much as my face was utter shock!

We use the little life traveller, very comfy and doesn’t take up too much space.

Only downside is it won’t stand up on its own when loaded!

I have the exposure flash which is similar to the TraceR but as I have a weird shape seatpost on my Defy it doesn’t sit right and often ends facing away from the traffic.

Any brackets or tips to get it to stay put facing backwards?

    Finding Nemo
Man’s wife was brutally murdered shortly after giving birth, leaving his son physically disabled and then in a twisted turn of events the son was kidnapped and his father chased the kidnapper thousands of miles with a mentally disabled woman to get him back.

Been thinking of one for our next family car as we have not long had our first child. With the SWB ones can one seat be removed? So 2 seats in the back with space for bikes, dog, luggage etc in the boot/missing seat space? Wheels on or off?

We have the Nipper Sport, it’s fantastic for off road use although the spring suspension is far too hard and barely moves even on the toughest terrain, with low pressure in the tyres it’s very comfy for them.

It goes pretty much flat and with the newborn insert she was fine in it from 4 days old when we first took her out for an hour at a time. She’s now 6 months and sleeps better the tougher the terrain!

Only negative is it’s useless anywhere but outside due to its long wheel base, navigating shops/cafes is a right pain!

I have sold the wheels and the buyer has these forks and is checking they will fit. Personally I would of checked this before buying them!

Not sure the ones in the ad are ones she purchased or just the same forks!

Thanks for the replies, these are the forks:

Would it be easier to convert the forks to take the 15mm axle that the hubs are already set up for?

Shop have sent pictures to their Giant rep in the hope they will replace under warranty. Quote for replacement was £260 plus Vat!

I hoped the warranty might cover it but the shop wasn’t convinced at all.
