howdy. If you don’t want to drive anywhere, there are a fair few woods/singletracky bits you can stitch together using the leeds/liverpool canal path or some cheeky paths along the side of the aire. Something like Round Wood (Eccleshill/Calverly), over the road to West Wood (Calverley), down to the canal/Aire, turn right then Bramley Falls park (on the right), onto the road at Kirkstall and 3-4 miles on the road to the Meanwood trail. With some detours to sniff out the good bits that would easily fill half a day.

I think OP has every right to be grumpy – what you’ve experienced is wrong.

FWIW I help run a charity – http://www.brainstrust.org.uk, and as silly as it sounds, saying ‘thank you’ in a personal way is one area we find consistently difficult to get 100% right 100% of the time. I think we do a good job given the diversity of fundraising activity going on, our limited ‘back office’ resource, and also the different ways the money comes in – CAF, cash, JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving, cheques, Paypal, google checkout to name but a few, but yes, unsolicited invoicing for a repeat donation? Inexcusable.

05 TD4 HSE here (the ‘1b’ I guess!). It’s been a godsend today, flying up stuff where mere mortals have come to a halt, and down stuff totally in control with the idiot proof Hill Descent. 97k on the clock, and purchased off a s/h dealer with warranty to put the ‘reliability’ fears to bed… in the 12 months since I picked it up it’s needed – new rad, new parking sensor, new boot handle, leak into boot fixing and some wear and tear stuff (pads, tyres). None of the above covered by the warranty 😈

So IMHO yes, unreliable, but great in the snow/mud, and a spot on for chucking bikes/gear/dog/wife in for weekends away etc. And yeah, heated seats that make you feel like you’ve wet yourself.

ETA – I GIVE UP. It’s a pic of a dude jumping over a gate and landing in a cow pat on a BMX. Useless at this image posting shiz.

Great thread. Spent many a summer racing Caprice, this 6 metre:

Lots of sail, not a lot of boat 🙂

Mine just arrived (really quickly!) Turned it on, looked at it, and now I’ve had a headache for an hour and white spots in front of my eyes. That’ll do for me.

Just paid our agent in Leeds £76 to come and frown at some light bulbs.

I did think the article should have come with a warning about this (may have missed it though).

Most of the trails shots in this set are of hips:

    gate to cowpat

This jump’s ace – dead steep, stepped up a bit with a 6ft lip, landing into a roller then onto a 15ft pointy set. Scope for lots of ‘pull back and yank’ 🙂

    woods again

EDIT – to fix broken link

    Coo eee!

I'm going. I'll be in a ditch, wrapped in my new space, blanket blowing my new whistle about 10 miles in. Old Kona Kula abandoned haphazardly nearby.

    See you there 🙂
