Again on Aldi food – just about everything is as good, if not better than the Tesco/Sainsburys etc equivalent own brand. And our weekly shop varies between 60 and 70 per week. Previously it was costing between 85 and 95 from Tesco, or more from Sainsburys. Some people don’t like the shopping ‘experience’ but who gives a sh1t, its not a social event, its stocking up on food for the week.

As for the perceived bargains such as cycling gear, toys etc. I don’t think they are all they’re cracked up to be. My wife falls for these, we got a big inflatable paddling pool last year and she was convinced it was bargain of the century. I saw pretty much the exact same thing in Tesco a week later for £5 cheaper. So its not ALL cherry pie.

I just can’t decide who will give away the first daft England penalty that will make me bury my head in my hands – Farrell or Haskell?

Yep, not confident. I think the Welsh defence will cancel out our attack and the back row will make a mess of our breakdowns. Playing Tuilagi is too much of a gamble. He’s probably currently only fit enough for a bench ‘cameo’ role at international level, but what if he has to come on after 5 minutes? Although I do think he’ll be on the bench come Saturday. However I still think we might just edge it – ever the optimist.

Saw a vid on facebook of a guy crashing on the black. Looks like some pretty big gaps with no chicken options. Can’t wait to get up there, especially with that new indoor Claudio pump track, gonna pack my BMX as well as the Spitfire!

Up to you really, but I only needed one layer of the gorilla tape overlapped by about 3″ across the valve hole.

I’d say 25mm. And I’d recommend 25mm wide gorilla tape from B&Q. Amazing stuff, sticks so much easier than Stans and far cheaper – £2.97 for enough to do about 5 rims.

Q2 I usually find these couples fall into the ‘no children, skiing, our lives are fantastic’ category. Yawn. And I do get the impression that they think other people genuinely look up to them and their lifestyle and hang on their every post.

Contact Madison via their on-line enquiry page. They’ll tell you if there’s a part available and where to get it if so. They responded very quickly to a 350 hub query I had a few months ago.

Errr what size? I asked a similar question some weeks ago. The 650b DHF’s are definitely the new ‘wider’ variety Maxxis sizing, not sure on the 26 or 29 though.

I had an import Turbo version (GTS model) that had been fettled with and had over 300 BHP it was extremely fast and fun but had lowered go-kart suspension, rattled like there was no tomorrow and was lethal in the wet.

Always had a soft spot for a E30 325i convertible for some reason. And I really don’t like convertibles as a rule, but I’d still like one of these now:

Probably a stupid Garmin question – with a map-enabled Garmin, like an Edge Touring or eTrex, do they have the capability to just do something simple like show an os map, with a gpx file overlaid (created with ridewithgps) and show the arrow of me and the direction I’m going in? ie with no chimes, turn by turn directions, working out if I’ve gone wrong etc?

Edit : sorry for the slight thread hijack, I’m currently looking for a new Garmin too, and didn’t want to start yet another Garmin thread

Didn’t even realise that the player with the ball was allowed to slip to the back of a maul these days any way. We always practiced passing the ball to the back of mauls, from schoolboy rugby to packing it in 5 years ago.

Good question, and one I was asking myself last night. Mentally about 18 I reckon but with a 41 year old body.

There might be a few of Ireland’s first choice starters out but it’s still a team packed with quality. It’s going to be close – maybe the bench could be the difference

Diving in rugby is akin to tripping, god damn despicable. When I played, even your own team-mates would disown you if you tripped up an opponent.

Same – ccdb air and it’s great so far. I was worried about the amount of adjustments but all I’ve done is set it at the base tune and changed one thing – slowed down the hsr. I was ‘nosing’ jumps with steeper lips which is something I’ve not experienced before. Slowing down the hsr seemed to help, or maybe it’s all in my head but I’m flying straight again now which is all that matters!

XT cranks at 165mm on both my MTBs. Can’t fault them although my 2 month old M8000s look very tatty compared to my 2 year old M775 ones for some reason

You (probably) won’t be disappointed. As above look up Bigfoot on the website or FB feed, or PM me. I’m happy to show people around local stuff and I also lead off-piste rides in FoD too.

It tells us civilians that he chose to use an EX471 for a World Cup DH race which must be a pretty good recommendation in itself.

For the riding you’ve described I’d say EX471s, like what I got. Great rims.

Someone mentioned Spitfire above, and they are pretty good clearance-wise. However on last nights club ride there was some pretty claggy mud and the frame got well clogged up with only a 2.3 Shorty and HR2.

Definitely look up Bigfoot if you end up down this way – friendly and active club with plenty of MTB rides in the Cheltenham/Glos/Stroud area. Further afield stuff eg FoD, Quantocks, Brecon and trail centre trips etc people often car share
