Hospital passes a-plenty from the base of the ruck and scrum then. Farrell should take to the field on stilts.

Tredz Zelak. They are the 2017 36 Float FIT4 160mm, 27.5. Not cheap at £879, there’s no way I’d normally pay that much for some forks (most I’ve ever paid was £480 for the Pikes that are broken), but with 0% I couldn’t resist. Ordered yesterday afternoon, finance approved instantly and they turned up at 8:15 this morning :-)

I live with my wife and two kids and I’m still only just about okay about it! Obviously I love living with my family now, but if it hadn’t happened I’d have been quite happy living on my own with absolutely no ties, loads more money and an almost seemingly infinite amount of time to ride!

3 in 150mm 27.5″, previously had 3 in 160mm 26″. 14.5 stone kitted up and running 25% sag. Still blowing through the travel fairly easily. Anyway, they’re being returned for the creaking issue now, and I’ve splashed out on some new 36 floats. Damn 0% finance deals.

I’m at the pump track twice a week on my BMX, clearing the tables and doubles perfectly

EDIT : Having said that a recent video of me clearing a 12ft gap on my Spitfire did look like I was more towards the back of the bike – I’ll work on that next time I’m out, cheers

Exactly the same thing happened to mine last week. Same symptoms, and I tried all the things you did to replicate the creak while off the bike. It only happens when I’m riding. It is definitely the forks though, I think its actually internal, as opposed to the CSU coming loose. I’ve got oil leaking from around the rebound knob and the damping is starting to feel terrible. Mine are 6 months old and are going back to supplier later this week

I do notice it on hard dry trails – how quickly the bike picks up speed on a DH run or the effort required on a long hard dry climb but some people make far too much of it in my opinion. I guess if you were searching for that extra bit of speed for racing it’d be good. As a general run of the mill rider I’ve given up worrying about it off-road.

Its not all about speed as others said. Some people pop effortlessly off a steep lip and clear a double where others would need to go twice as fast. I’ve been nosing jumps lately, ever since getting a 2nd hand Banshee Spitfire with a CCDB Air. Never suffered with this before. The high speed rebound adjustment makes little or no difference wherever its set so I think its just rebounding too quickly on steep lips and bucking the back end skywards. Or maybe I just don’t know how to set it up and can’t ride for shit. Anyway the CCDB air is going in for a service next week so will get checked out then.

Is this creaking CSU problem a ‘Stop riding your bike immediately’ or ‘Go riding tonight in FoD and hit everything as hard as you normally would and then sort it out tomorrow’ kind of situation?

Creaking just started this weekend on 6 month old Pikes :-(

I’m going to have to nip into Tesco on the way back from my ride tonight and grab a few of those Leffe’s to try

My friend Billy had a 10 foot willy
So he showed it to the girl next door
She thought it was a snake
So she hit it with a rake
And now its only 2 foot 4

    Sorted.

Not sure if you’re still interested but rode a lot of the Staunton/Buckstone stuff on Monday and the logging is still in progress. There’s a very small diversion on Billy’s but other than that everything is clear and running extremely well.

Read this earlier and it sounds like he did everything he could to deny it and make up some jackanory story. Disgusting bully – here’s hoping he’ll be on the receiving end during his time at Her Majesty’s pleasure

Luckily I can’t access the On-One site to get caught up in a buying frenzy like I did on the PSA: Formula R0 Brakeset thread

Don’t blame you. I don’t normally but I do love a double JD or two at the airport before an early morning flight :-)

Our whippet did this as a puppy and then grew out of it by the time she was two. She is now 6 and has started doing it again. Every morning. She is straight out into the garden for a dump first thing in the morning, turns round and gobbles it up while it’s still steaming.

The enduro loop is really good and I’m pretty sure it’s all still there. They do a race round that loop every year. Have you got a device for following gpx files? I can send you the gpx. If not the trail map should get you round okay

My 2.5 yr old has a Stomp Stompee which you can get for about £50 new. Its great, the brake works really well for kids skids, and he goes round our local pump track on it no problem. The headset arrangement isn’t that good though so it might not be to your liking although its better than the Halfords 35 quid one that we initially got for him

Have a look for a WTP Crysis or Justice second hand. Something like this:

I replaced my 3yr old impact lows with the impact vxi that your link above showed at the start of this year. They are lighter, less chunky looking, very grippy, comfortable and dry much more quickly than the impact lows. Brilliant riding shoes. They have the knobbly grip pattern all over the soles, no smooth section like the freerider vxi’s.

Is that when you fit it with 20″ wheels, singlespeed it, slam the saddle and tilt it skywards and remove the brakes? :D

I’m also 6’1 and have a 21″ TT. It’s fine really. For a bit of everything something like 20.75 to 21 should be fine at 5’11. Far less choice of bikes available over 21″ TT. Having said that, in an ideal world I think I’d prefer to have a 21.5″.

Just get one, seriously. Pick up a decent second-hand one for £100 – £150. If its not for you, sell it for something like what you paid. They’re great fun, knackering and as others say are great for building general bike skillzz. Pump/BMX tracks, indoor and outdoor skateparks, messing about with the kids in the garden, I wouldn’t be without mine.

Seems daft to get the 14″ if he’s that close to the 16″. My son is 37cm inside leg and we’ve just got him the 14 large. its a bit big according to the size guide but in fact it’s about right for him – he can touch the ground with the saddle right down, albeit on tip toes.

    You bitter?

    Yep, bit him too

Both of ours have gone through this stage at different ages. Our daughter was 4.5 and at school which was mortifying having to go and see her teacher about it. Anyway it passed. No doubt the twinkle in my wife’s eye that is our third child will go through it too.

I will always be honest with my kids. I feel that if I can tell them what I’ve done in my past, they might not feel like they have to hide things from me. Also as someone mentioned above words of advice are far better received from someone having had the same experience. The only lie I’ve ever told my kids is the whole Santa Claus thing and that doesn’t sit very comfortably with me either!

What an utter shower of shite. Had a very similar problem trying to get a BMC Supertrail mech hanger out of them a few years back.
