Spesh Storm Controls 2.0 are in fact bigger volume than Mud X’s but with a very similar tread. I have used both, and much prefer the Storms. To the point I’m looking forward to putting them on and getting out in the wet winter mud.

Matt, not tried a WTD for this, tried them before with other stuff to no success. I would go second-hand but it’s not that straightforward, if I could find something local, right size, decent-ish spec, good condition etc then great but its not happening, been looking for a while

Thanks for the information Chip, very useful. At 6’1 I’m thinking the 20″ would probably be the one for me, although I’ve got stumpy legs/long torso syndrome so I’m not 100%. Luckily my local Halfords have both in stock so I’m going to nip in later to try them out for size.

Yes cheers Dobie I know where that is, nice one in fact I ride through it quite often, hadn’t thought of that

Been looking at 2nd hand Rockhoppers funnily enough Matt for around the £300 mark, but for that I’m looking at approx 5 years old, something like a Comp, but finding one local, decent condition etc is not easy. In fact finding anything right size, semi- decent spec, great condition etc is proving tough. Hence looking at something new. It doesn’t have to be top spec, this will be a second bike – winter/general XC/baby seat/canal tow-path family rides type bike

Need a large/19/20ish frame so the GT is out. Shame they went to a coil on the Hoodoo, seems like a bit of a step back from the air version. Still looks like the best package though, but the Genesis still looks good and although the Cube doesn’t appeal much it’s still a good option.

Chip, how tall are you and what size Hoodoo are you on?

Hmm the Voodoo at 399 looking favourite now! Saw the Cube at £370 somewhere else but don’t really see why it is a whole lot more bike at all, what have I missed? Great, thanks for the input guys

dirty – funnily enough after seeing Nicks noble and valiant charge to ‘poor lass’ Emsz’s defence (even though she was in no way attacked) I had to run straight to my parent’s house for a big hug off my Mummy. So no, I’m covered on that one, but thank you for the kind offer :-)

I said I was a bit miffed Nick, that was all. It didn’t ruin my week, or even day. But no, like any book I read or film I see, funnily enough I don’t want to know the ending. I didn’t have a go at Emsz, you or anyone. And WOW, what lengths you went to, embedding appropriate videos to assist your point in an hilarious fashion whilst simultaneously patronising and belittling me. Great work sunshine, have a smartie.

Yeah was pretty miffed to read Emsz’s post on one of the previous pages about Trevor, pretty much gave away a forkin massive part of the story that I haven’t got to yet. Oh well!

Annoyingly I cant get over 165 now, but I did take a screenshot of my 172 in case anyone disputed it :D

You’ve got to hit it when its as far away from you as possible I think, hitting it just as it comes back on screen. This seems to give the highest scores, but don’t ‘go off’ too early or you’ll miss it completely and waste a swipe. Good for 5 minutes of Friday fun!

For the ultimate way to make cars explode, if you have unlocked sticky bombs, you can lob them from the window of your car as you drive round, sticking them to cars/lorries/buses/squad cars and then hit left on the d-pad and they all go off at once, total and utter highway hell!

Invested heavily in TacoBomb last night. Then spent ages hanging around outside the Cluckin Bell chicken processing factory in Paleto Bay blowing up their delivery trucks. This made little or no difference to the share prices.

Damn good fun though, you can throw Sticky Bombs onto the sides of lorries while you are driving along and then detonate them as you speed off into the distance. One thing led to another and before long the FIB vehicles were getting Sticky Bombed and total law enforcement carnage ensued

Not a tank, a fighter jet. They blew me out of the sky on my first 3 attempts, managed to avoid the missiles on my 4th attempt but then blew it up landing it coz I forgot to put the undercarriage down

Agreed. Cycling up the mountain for the first time, I was planning on riding straight back down as fast as I could and could see various drops and interesting lines. On the way down, the trail naturally guides you over the jumps and drops, damn fine work from the game designers!

They were selling both their houses to finance it, plus a ‘bit’ of compo apparently.

Agreed, gnarpoon is awesome. Still don’t know what one is though. Maybe its down to the amount of chain devices/sprockets (not cogs) fitted in the drivetrain. Look at Josh Benders bike above – there’s 7 – including the cassette, mech jockey wheels, chain devices, chainring and another sprocket (not cog) of some sort above the chainring. > 5 = gnarpoon maybe (obviously it also has to comply with the rig and sled requirements)

FairPlay for even landing the thing. Finally managed to steal the fighter unscathed from Fort Zancudo then blew up trying to land it on that airstrip where Trevor has that big hangar. Forgot to put my undercarriage down

Rotary, I find them easy to set. Put in the chocolate, put the trap in position, push down on the metal setting arm until it clicks. Really straightforward, and the setting bit can be done one-handed so you can have your other hand well clear of the snapper! I think you can get them on Amazon actually for about £4.50 a pair

So far its Wilko 7 Mice 0 with these:

    http://www.tesco.com/direct/renotkil-fm45-advanced-mouse-trap-x2/273-2122.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=273-2122&kpid=273-2122&gclid=CMOV_OuO5LkCFaKWtAodaCMAyw

Each time with a big lump of Dairy Milk wedged into the little food hole.

EDIT : Tried poison, it worked, sort of. The mice had a nest under the house with a little ‘Tom and Jerry’ hole in my skirting board that they retreated under after they’d had the poison. A week or so later the smell of rotting mouse coming up was sickening

Generally it does take a long time before the symptoms significantly affect someones lifestyle. My dear old Nan had it and my Uncle currently has. In fact my Uncle is one of the lucky ones to have received the surgery and has electrodes deep in his brain, and a cable under the skin running down to a sort of pacemaker high up on his chest near his shoulder blade. The difference in his motion and balance really was phenomenal.

Yeah y2k was the last main descent, it’s great fun. There’s a great flat-out lead-in to it that I wish they’d include in the Enduro that makes it twice as long too. Enjoyed the race today, second lap spoilt by cramp a little but it eventually loosened off so I could carry on. Top 4 lap time was 2hrs 49, unreal…

Yeah it does Brodie. Think they are starting it a bit further back to help thin out the field but there’ll still be a bottleneck there I reckon

Err no it’s nowhere near the Enduro, you really need a guide to find it for the first time. Well worth it though there’s loads of awesome trails in that area, and in the surrounding enclosures.

Freeminers crosses the enduro route, but they don’t really share any sections. Think some of Freeminers is out of action because it’s being extended. Still worth going, you could ride the enduro loop (might be marked out already), do Verderers, bits of Freeminers, try some of the DH sections, there’s tons to do, and that’s without venturing further afield than the Pedalabikeaway area

Yes I’m doing it. Start time of 10:30 sounds right. A mate rode the course today and said it was riding real nice, no rain forecast for days either so should be great fun, result!

I’ve given up categorising riding to any degree of detail. I like things simple – I go mountain biking. A typical ride for me somewhere like FoD off-piste will involve every type of terrain from road, bridleway, fire-road, singletrack, doubletrack, steep DH stuff, jumps, drops etc.

:D”Are people seriously suggesting that when you lean over on a High Roller you ride along on that little bit of slick tyre and end up in the dirt? I really have no idea what you’re getting at other than people have heard the “oh yeah high rollers, dead spot etc etc…” and just copy each other. I can dig my High Rollers in so much harder than any other tyre. Those side knobs are magic.”

Finally someone talking sense, I’ve always thought this when people talk about the dead spot but never bothered posting it up. I used to use them exclusively and never experienced a dead spot. How on earth could you ride along on just that tiny strip of tyre where there is no tread? Plus the tyre deforms under the riders weight etc so the knobs all squash together. A total myth. (in my opinion :D )
