Mrs Wilko was 2 weeks overdue for both of ours and both times had massive babies. Those overdue weeks were some dark times

There’s no point offering advice, there’s so much on the web already I’m sure you’ve both already read enough to last you a lifetime. It’s exhausting and frustrating, but amazing and the most magical thing that you can do with your lives. Good luck!

By about page 3 this thread was already like Groundhog Day, it’s just getting daft now. I can’t believe the OP is still bothering to reply!

Although there must be something about it coz I can’t help checking in on it now and again :?

Cheers, just wanted to make sure I can head up there, do Raven and Gorlech linked together for a decent length ride that’s all handily marked out for me without having to think too much about where I’m going :-)

Dez I rode a Titus El Guapo prior to the ASR5, and a Blur LTc after, and they both provide a far more stable pedalling platform on long climbs without having to ramp up the shock settings, or lock out the suspension. No problem with pedal bob. Must have forgotten how to ride when I had the ASR5 then :D

6ft with a long torso, I’d say a large too. You sound exactly the same sort of build as me, I rode a large. They don’t really come up small though, I guess it depends what you compare them to. Compared to my Large Blur LTc, the ASR5 is much longer in the TT.

Much as they get rave reviews and I enjoyed my test ride enough to buy one, long term I never really got on that well with it. Can’t really put my finger on it, but one thing I didn’t like was no matter what I did with the shock settings I found the pedal bob too intrusive. Ultimately I think it just didn’t suit me and my riding.

This is one of those threads I can’t help looking at, although its making me a little uneasy. I’m going to have nightmares tonight about giant hairy spiders blocking busy roads in the ASL

They are very impressive and fascinating though Hadge, I can see the appeal in a bizarre kind of way

Can someone please post that gif of Bill Murray in Groundhog Day smashing his alarm clock please :D

:D definitely, although a campfire in the ASL might not go down too well in rush hour traffic

Must have been your fault though jameso

On a serious note though, that’s awful, exactly the reason why I do my best to avoid any confrontations these days, there’s no point going round like some kind of vigilante road-rules enforcer, as at some point its going to end in tears. Don’t let the losers ruin your day!

Love how he’s got another girly haymaker wound up and ready to go should the cyclist suddenly decide to stand up for himself. You can hear in the cyclists voice as he shouts ‘EFFING PR1CK, YOU Nearly ran over my foot mate’, by the time he gets to nearly ran over my foot, he’s looked in the car and didn’t like what he saw. At that point all the aggression has suddenly drained out of him to be replaced by a little fear at what may be about to happen. His voice goes very meek at the end of his sentence.

EDIT : Just to add, yes the car occupants are in the wrong

Like how they’ve really narrowed it down to where it might strike – Devon, Cornwall, Ireland or Scotland

Ian, I’ve thought about it again, and I think I still have a valid point. Maybe you wouldn’t hail him a hero but my point was that the tone of a lot of peoples replies may be somewhat different. I’m not siding with either, and in my reply on page one, I already stated that the driver wasn’t justified in punching him, just highlighting an alternative way of looking at the situation – that the cyclist was the aggressor in the confrontation.

Reverse the situation. Cyclist does something that the driver thinks is out of order. 1st he reverses up and tells him. Then when the cyclist zooms off, driver follows him, gets up close to him at the next lights and starts swearing his head off and calling names. Cyclist punches him. Driver zooms off sheepishly. You’d all be hailing the cyclist a hero for standing up to the aggressive nasty Audi-driving bully. Think about it! :D

If you are going to shout expletives at someone through their window you better be prepared for some sort of retort. Some people shout back, some people try and hide and some are violent. That’s life. If you aren’t prepared to back up your aggressive name-calling, learn some restraint in the first place.

I’m not saying the driver was justified in punching him btw but chasing him down and having a go at him was just daft, he ruined his own day.

There’s a chippy in the Podsmead area of Gloucester that will deep fry pretty much any food you take in. Cadburys Crème Egg was good. Their speciality though was deep fried chips. Obviously chip shop chips are normally deep fried, but these were all individually done in batter.

No its not. There’s always someone who proudly boasts about their childs sleeping prowess. You’re not welcome round these parts… :|

Have a king-sized 2 month-old baby boy who we are currently working on getting into a routine. Its hard, especially with a stinking cold. Sat here at work like death warmed up.

EDIT: Okay he’s not a toddler, but I’ve got one of those too. She likes to wake in the middle of the night and sing loudly so that it blasts through the baby monitor and wakes the baby boy just as he’s finally gone off to sleep.

You wanna go careful riding thongs Luke.

I have an LTc too, and yes I’ve been riding thIngs I wouldn’t have before, and seem to find myself in the air a lot more too.

Sticking with baby monitors for a minute – we use one of these

The range is phenomenal, I can happily work on my bikes outside in my workshop in the evening and listen to my daughter while she sleeps upstairs on the other side in the house. It doesn’t pick up background noise and the best thing – you can speak into it. So if you heard someone get into the shed, you can press a button and speak into it and it will come out in your shed clear as day. Something along the lines of “I’m coming out there with my shotgun” should do the trick. And possibly attract armed police too. You get the picture.

Charge Spoon? Seriously, if it suits your arse go for it, it really isn’t that much different looking to a ‘standard’ road saddle.

“Why most people are recommending Hecklers and Blur LTs is beyond me”

Because those are two of the three options he wanted to choose between in his original post

I do agree with you though as it happens, a Blur TR would be ideal, however it sounds like his price range probably wouldn’t stretch to one as they are still relatively new and second-hand ones still pricey.

All pretty meaty bikes. For me its close between a Blur LT2 and a Heckler, I’d say Blur as I find they climb more efficiently. Descending they are both very capable and great fun. Although if you value maintenance simplicity greatly then go for a Heckler. Either way you won’t be disappointed

Nice one scuzz, thanks. Good price for the SSD. I’ve got a large external hard drive already ( ), and can source an OS, so that looks very promising.

Building my own is the best option I think, I’m confident enough to do the construction and ‘wiring’, and should be able to get any help if I go wrong from our IT dept at work

Good question. £500 is about as much as I could scrape together, taking into account getting shot of the Xbox. Toying with either PS4 or gaming PC at the moment. Depends what I can get for my money really.

    Ha no worries

So my next line of questioning as I really fancy playing Day Z, plus a number of other PC titles (maybe I should start a new thread, or try a more relevant forum)…

What cheap (new or 2nd hand), compact, gaming PC, that I can hook up to my TV, that won’t be too much bigger than my Xbox 360? Doesn’t have to perform at the very latest speeds (I’m used to an Xbox 360 remember :-) )

The premise of Day Z really appeals to me, was watching a mate play it, but I only have an Xbox 360. No room to house, or money to buy a decent gaming PC unfortunately

Ah, Far Cry 3, I’ve got that! Absolutely caned the single player but for some reason didn’t even consider multiplayer online. I’ll give that a go later

Also, going to get Orange Box again anyway, for TF2, and also just to play through the brilliant Half Life 2 games again

    Thanks for the help

    Thanks so far

Like the sound of Operation Flashpoint, just had a quick read of reviews

TF2 a good shout, never played it when I had Orange Box years ago, do people still play it online on Xbox 360 then?

So can I download Steam to the Xbox 360?

God she is absolutely awful, what a headcase. And would appear to have a minor grievance with cyclists in general what with rolling out the old ‘you don’t even pay road tax’ nonsense.

She saw him coming towards her, he wasn’t in the gutter (not that he should be) so she put herself in that position right in front of him to try and prove her point thinking “there’s no way I’m moving over for a cyclist”.

The cyclist might be a little sweary for some conservative tastes but he’s definitely not in the wrong!

The reason I ride mountain bikes is because of where I live and grew up (hills and woodlands all around), this must be the case for a large percentage of MTB-ers I guess. I can’t imagine I would have even got into mountain biking if I lived in a flat feature-less environment like London or Norfolk! If I had to up-sticks and relocate one of the main criteria would be good local riding.
