The 999 look has aged very well. When it was released I thought it paled in comparison to the 916 and didn’t much like it. Looking at them now though they look stunning. I can’t be much help though as I’ve never had a Ducati, but as with any motorbike – one owner from new, all documents, full service history, all keys etc is the ideal scenario. Post some pics if you go for it! Where’s it advertised, can I have a nosey?!

I can tell you from experience that Critical Illness Cover is worth its weight in gold. You don’t know what is round the corner and I am so glad that I had it for myself and my family’s sake. Not sure if that’s a good deal though, you’ll need to do some of your own googling. Exclusions however are the norm, as with any insurance policy. Each companies policies will vary. Take a look at Aviva’s terms and conditions as that’s who I was with and they were bloody brilliant come claim time.

Rockhopper I used to race at the Halifax circuit years ago. In fact I raced all over the UK, 1/8th scale IC on-road. You are right, the amount of kit you need for a weekends racing is staggering. You would get through at least 5 or 6 sets of tyres over a weekend – and you’d need a load of different compounds depending on track conditions. Nearly a bottle of fuel. You’d need a couple of spare engines and spare exhausts. Spare bodyshells. Multiple spares of car components – wishbones, drive shafts, shock absorbers, different strength springs, different oils for the dampers, clutch bits, gearbox spares with different size gears etc. Spare radio gear – servos, receiver. Starter box. Fuel bottle. Tool box. It was great fun but expensive and very time consuming

I do Dez. I love Aesop and Homeboy in their own right but for some reason the LICE project doesn’t quite work for me. Not sure if its a clash of lyrical styles, or their voices, can’t put my finger on it. Take HMM, Rob Sonic and Aesop together are dynamite.

EDIT Not that I’m complaining, its free, I just don’t listen to it much.

Pretty cool. Seem to be pretty much exclusively listening to Aesop Rock at the mo, along with HMM

My 3 year old hasn’t quite mastered the art of saying ‘Incredible Hulk’ yet. It always comes out ‘Credible Hulk’ which completely changes the image of the man. Not that I’m moaning it just makes me chuckle.

Most seasoned bikers like to regale newbies with stories of how they/their mate was faster on a Honda step through than a power ranger on an R1. Who cares. Its not all about being fast. The beauty of a motorbike is that the more exotic/performance end of the spectrum is affordable to so many more people than an equivalent exotic car.

Enjoyed episode 2 last night. This season is shaping up to be quite entertaining, in my opinion!

Much as I like Walking Dead, I’m not sure I’d want it to keep going long enough for Judith’s character to be developed!

As for Governor vs Negan in terms of terrifying-ness, I’d say the Governor currently edges it. Negan is clearly a strong, psychotic character but he has shown his hand right from the word go. The Governor had more of that quiet underlying menace that made you wonder what he was really about, fear of the unknown sort of thing

The Glen bit was quite like the comic. I’ve watched Walking Dead from the beginning with Mrs Wilko, this was the first episode where she was actually wincing and covering her eyes to avoid watching

20.5″ at 5’9 sounds fine. My BMX is 21″ TT and I’m about 6’1. If its in really good nick and the same as the one in your link for under 200 sheets just buy it already.

I always use ridewithgps (I assume that’s your RWGPS above). You just need to tick the ‘Draw Lines’ box instead of the ‘Follow Roads’ box when in the route planner.

In a former job we had a work experience student and the boys in the metalwork area sent him to a local hardware store for a 12″ hampton with a bell-end

Yep. all subjective. I can’t understand how the reviewer gave it a 9/10 for ‘cool’ but if he thinks it is who am I to argue. I think its about as cool as my Ford Grand Tourneo – ie not in the slightest.

Been on atorvastatin and clopidogrel since having a full on stroke over a year ago and have to take them for the rest of my life. Don’t think I’ve sufferered any side effects from them at all. It’s a bit of a grind getting prescriptions all the time and costs a sodding fortune, but if it reduces my chances of another stroke, I’ll do anything

I started the 2nd one of those threads linked above by pimpmaster jazz, and people were very helpful. The Strava heatmap and segment explorer was also very helpful too. I had two great holiday rides in Brighstone and Grammars despite the wet weather!

Viewranger is very good for following a route on iPhone. However as others have said, if you have the screen on to actually follow the route you’ll be very lucky to get 3 hours out of it.

I can appreciate what a good lyricist Eminem is but I’ve just never been able to bring myself to like his music for some reason.

    LOVE boardinbobs first list :D

If we’re mentioning pants rappers – Puff Daddy – he is terrible when he has a stab at MCing

Yeah I’ve got loads I would have liked to include in my top ten – Guru, Erick Sermon, Masta Ace, Aesop Rock, Pharoah Monche, Mos Def. I wouldn’t even have Slug in my top 20 though, much as I love Atmosphere.

I don’t think there’s much you can do to reduce the after-effects. I’ve had migraine with aura for many years now, and I feel pretty wiped out for a day or two afterwards. I also tend to feel ravenous for about 24 hours after the main symptoms subside, and just listen to my body and eat eat eat

This is the Dixell manual for the controller you have and is little more user friendly than the thermofrost cryo document:

    http://www.dixellasia.com/download/dixellasia_com/Dixell_manual/XR10-20-40-60%20E-class.pdf

As mentioned above though, keep a regular defrost, even it its once daily

Once you have your rigid MTB be sure to make absolutely everyone aware that you ride a rigid, take every opportunity to inform everyone that you will be going out on your rigid and then title the Strava ride ‘rigid mtb ride, seriously rattled on the descents’ or similar.

Same problem here. Neighbours bush has grown so thick I’m having trouble pulling out in the morning. No matter how slowly I edge forward I just can’t see what’s coming. I’m having to just pull out as quickly as I can now and hope I don’t end up in a mangled mess whilst my wife looks on from the lounge window.
