Because I’ll be jealous? I’ve always fancied one, from the days when I used to trundle round in an ex-RAF lightweight series III. Go for a 110 though to give you some decent space inside as that’s about all the practicality you’ll get from a Defender 🙂

I’ve got a Dropzone on both my MTB’s – smooth, faultless operation from them both so far. Got them from Hibike and they delivered quickly and with too many email progress updates!

Not sure, but when you finally get through be prepared to speak to someone who will throw a load of Inland Revenue jargon at you that you may well not understand. And then when you politely ask if they could explain what they mean in laymans terms, they will repeat exactly what they said the first time round with a massive dose of impatience thrown in.

‘Must have’ for me would Schubert’s Impromptus and Moments Musicaux for piano. Beautiful pieces, played at their best (IMO) by Peter Frankl. Might not be for you though if you prefer something more orchestral. This is the album:

Amazing atmosphere, great staff, great food and situated in a really interesting twisty, windy (thats wine-dy, not win-dy) old building

Ate a massive bacon, sausage and egg bap and two Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Some work, finishing at 1. Then off to the BMX track for a cheeky christmas eve jump sesh 😀 😀

I find myself singing ‘Horsey horsey don’t you stop…’ etc to myself on long grinding MTB climbs. The joys of parenthood – nursery rhymes etched into your brain.

Brilliant for feeding, then gently rocking a trouble-some 1 yr old off to sleep in his bedroom

Yeah and Mark Atkins knows a thing or two about BMX! I’m 6’1 and ride a 21″, my mate’s 6’2 and rides a 21″ – I wouldn’t get too carried away looking for a 22″ top tube unless you’re like 6’8 or something

I got Neil from Stores a razor last year as he always sports a really crap wispy bum-fluff beard. A fairly harmless bit of fun that didn’t take much thought and wasn’t even that funny. However when he opened it in front of the company he went bright red, started shaking and muttered gruffly “I didn’t see that coming” in a very sarcastic tone and stormed out with everyone else p1ss1ng themselves laughing. Result!

toby its a wonderful planet. Unfortunately there will always be a complete spectrum of good all the way to evil on it. The greatest pleasures I’ve experienced so far (apart from doing the do 😉 ) have been introducing my offspring to all the amazing things that life can offer.

Another vote for coaching course. In fact I did two, an MTB day with Jedi, and a BMX course with a local coach from Gloucester. Both have increased my riding enjoyment (and ability) far more than any bike or accessory

Its great to see so how proud so many people are of their other halves (including me) but not many have mentioned the inevitable bad points 😉 (including me)

I ran mine with a 120mm fork, and it was brilliant, slackened it out a bit making it more stable and didn’t really lose much of its mountain goat climbing style either. Mate of mine in our club used to run one with 160mm 36 Talas, and let me tell you, that was going waaaay too far.

Ha ha that’s a cracker, can’t top that. A few years ago on our Christmas do, I was in the loo’s of a club in Gloucester, one of my colleagues came in as well, completely hammered, went to lean on my shoulder just as I moved out of the way. He fell down like Delboy and broke a load of ribs.

I concur, a tough climb, only been up it once, after already riding for 3 tough Dartmoor hours. Had to push some of the loose rocky bit, and then struggled through the steppy bits in the massively overgrown ferns as my legs were completely shot. Had nothing in the tank then and had to potter very carefully down the Nutcracker, still enjoyed it though

In addition to the above meant to say that she gave birth to our second baby with no pain relief whatsoever – a boy weighing 11lb 15ozs… although she wasn’t smiling like that at the time 😀

Excellent sounds great! I’m still watching some on ebay trying to get a bargain. Not sure on the second motor without seeing how they’re wired up. I’d leave it in though, I doubt it’ll make that much difference to battery life and will be more of a handful to drive too

I always position the collar onto the end of the grip so that its lined up exactly and push it on a little bit so that it stays there. Then holding the grip with the collar underneath, press it down onto a solid surface until the collar pops on. They do go, there’s a knack, once you’ve done a couple it becomes a lot easier

I’m on about my 5th Spoon, and now trying a Scoop too on one of my bikes. The Scoop is a bit firmer in the padding but more flexy underneath, it seems to suit my arse though as I find it even comfier than a Spoon.

That’s a far more sensible system, and removes the blip around the £250000 mark that made houses difficult to value and market.

I have huge sympathy for anyone who has a condition that stops them from living their life the way they want to. A friend of mine has been battling this for some time, and in his case it seems the less he does the worse he gets

Hope you overcome this quickly, whatever it takes, stay mentally strong, don’t let it get the better of you.

Not sure what size you’re after but I’m on these, and so far they’ve been great all round winter tyres. Pretty damn good in mud but far better everywhere else than mud tyres. Even rolling swiftly enough on tarmac on the way to the trails, I’ll be leaving them on all year as I’m done with chopping and changing tyres – and a good price too…

“A lot of my teenaged crew stayed true to the B-Boy lifestyle though..”

Same. We were TUF (the unity force) – country boy white kids trying to live the B-boy lifestyle. Ghettoblasters, breakin, spraying graff in disused factories with car paints nicked from the local car parts shop etc. bombing walls in town. Some of the guys are still living like that (and I take my Kangol off to them) – I’m a 40-something typical Dad now 😀
