As above, give ’em a try. After 10 years clipped in it’ll probably take some adjusting but you might prefer it. I can’t compare the two, I’ve never tried clipping in, and I’m not even slightly curious to try.

    England – Italy 2013: 18-11 Eng
    England – Italy 2012: 19-15 Eng

Neither convincing wins. I know we hammered them last year, but Italy do have the ability to force a real grind of a game. I do think we’ll win, but I don’t think its going to be a try-fest (please let me be wrong 😉 )

That was just a glorified swallow dive. He was trying to catch the ball and dive all the way over the try-line. There just happened to be someone in the way 😉

These guys are highly recommended and do courses in Gisburn which isn’t horrendously far from Manchester. There’s an Airtime course there on the 22nd Feb:

EDIT: although if you can make it to Hertford, Jedi is very good indeed, my riding has improved massively since my day with him

Holy crap talk about hospital pass. Give your 10 a chance! Not the sort of service you want with Lima coming at you, or anyone for that matter

Fair point a_a, Shane’s dives never wound me up like Ashton’s, and he was a Welshman 😉

EDIT: in fact they didn’t wind me up at all, I loved watching him play. Strange that.

Ashton should not be allowed an England shirt purely for his effing ridiculous swallow dives. One day he’s going to drop the ball mid-flight and won’t he look like an even bigger bellend then. I hate arrogance and showmanship in rugby. Get over the line, get the effing ball on the ground as quickly as possible and get on with the game. Hmmph!

C9 those DH trails look good fun, if we’re ever over that way I’ll give you a shout they look right up my street! We went to Pembrokeshire last year though and it was awful weather. Rather than head out over the Preselis I drove back to Brechfa as the trail centre stuff runs alright after loads of rain.

Looking like south side of Devon at the moment, if nothing else other than I’m dying to get back riding on Dartmoor!

That looks good midlife, ideal. Love Dartmoor for riding too

Shameless bump for any evening folk who may have some ideas 🙂

South Wales/west coast looking promising, like the ideas of around Barmouth/Twywn. Never ridden at Coed Y Brenin either so that’s a bonus.

Love FoD, but its too close to home, I ride off-piste there all the time – I’m from Gloucester

Considering Dorset now too, near Poole. Purbecks for riding

Any other suggestions? Thanks so far!

I agree about Hogg, he looked superb in attack, I reckon he could slot in on the wing no problem. Certainly a better option than Ben Youngs covering two positions 😉

I thought the Ben Youngs twins were outstanding, and they both thoroughly deserve their place in the northern hemisphere super-squad 😀

Wasn’t a great weekend’s rugby for wingers to be fair. Don’t think May did enough to warrant making Guscotts home nations squad though, maybe Bowe instead?

    I’ve read that it’s a myth

    http://sheldonbrown.com/kops.html

EDIT: although you could probably find plenty of internet articles that state that it isn’t a myth, you have to believe whichever suits you!

A very kind STW-er just sent me this one, but I already had another, give it a try:

I’ve shortened plenty of Shimano brake hoses without the need for bleeding afterwards. However, in a number of cases, if the bike had been upside down for any length of time, and then righted, the levers would need a load of pumping before they would firm up again (oo-er).

To eliminate this they needed a bleed-lite. ie Fit the bleed funnel on the lever, put some fluid in, gently depress the lever a few times, doing this with the lever level, then tipped forward and then tipped backwards. This eliminated any small amounts of air that entered during the cutting process.

Apparently in the US, they have developed a technique where they fit little clamps (like tiny little Klippits!) on the tubes instead of cutting them. Hope they hurry up and introduce that on the NHS, sounds far better!

    redted 😀 😀

I’m a regular at Rush Indoor Skatepark, its 15 mins from my house:

    http://www.rushskatepark.co.uk/

I’m 40 and got my first ever BMX middle of last year. I ride at Rush, and also BMX tracks and local outdoor parks. There’s a decent size contingent of people around my age at Rush. But then the youngsters are all sound as, and don’t take the piss out of us old dudes. Well not to our faces anyway.

All I’ll say is its bl88dy brilliant fun, and since getting a BMX my ability on an MTB has improved loads, most notably in the jumping and pumping department. Also I’m generally faster due to pumping more, sprinting out of the saddle and not braking. All stuff worked on at the BMX track.

If you’re going to upgrade to better Shimanos, probably no real need to go higher than Deore level. I have Deore on one MTB, and SLX on the other and in outright braking power terms there’s not a noticeable difference. Deore’s can be had very cheaply

Ha, awesome! When that album first came out me and my mates would sit there and listen to the intro over and over again while sampling some of Mary Jane’s finest vintage. Thanks, that’s my listening sorted for the next hour or so!

My initial reaction was ‘Jonny Wilkinson in a Landy’

Some of my finest motoring moments were in my ex-RAF SIII lightweight; canvas, hoops and doors off bouncing along the local green lanes. Conversely some of my worst were taking it down the motorway, flat out at 55mph. EDIT: with the canvas, hoops and doors back on

I’ve been running a butcher front/purgatory rear combo for over a year now and its a good enough all round set up, can’t be arsed to chop and change tyres any more. I find the purgatory lacks grip on steep climbs, wet or dry, but other than that they’re alright.

I’d love to have the time and money to still be interested in the bling side of biking. But I now have two small kids, so I have neither time nor money. It has forced me to stop throwing good money after bad at my bikes though and consequently I have focussed on improving my fitness and skills and just being happy with what I’ve got. I’m enjoying my riding more than ever.

I gotta get me to the Peaks for some Salted Caramel cake. Oh, and I’d also love to ride there too 🙂

Seriously I keep going back and looking at that cake and I’m not even that fussed about cake. Is it a kind of Millionaires chocolate cake? I’m going to have to stop on the way home from work and pick up something suitably sweet and stodgy.

6’1 with stupid stumpy 32″ legs, hence why 165’s work very well for me. Shame the choice of 165mm MTB crank arms is so limited.
