Fudger that is possibly the best Stonermoan of all. “Some of the overtakes weren’t fair” ha, classic. He wasn’t overtaking you when you binned it on the slowest corner of the track! He must have felt like such a tool.

Be sure to check out Rossi v Stoner Laguna Seca 08. I have an unashamed man-crush on Rossi. When he retires from MotoGP the sport will never be the same again

From experience, even a low level on the ‘psychosis 1-10’ scale is unnerving, fear-inducing and potentially life-changing. All these cannabis is harmless campaigners would do well to look further into it’s effects on the brain.

Unfortunately I can’t offer much advice for your specific situation, but I hope you manage to sort things out, if for no-one else’s sake other than your niece’s.

Thanks all. I’ve had bent mech cages before but its actually quite difficult to see. My guess now is a bit of both, bent cage and hanger. I’ve got a spare hanger, and a spare cage from an older non-clutch mech derailleur. Hopefully one or both of these will fix it. Cheers all.

When my sister appealed she looked back through the admissions for the school she wanted over the last 6 or 7 years. They normally take 20 pupils each year, but she found that for a couple of years they had taken 21, and for one year 22. Not sure what else happened during the appeal, but the basis for her winning was the research she did and the fact that some years the school had taken more than 20. Hope this helps.

Didn’t look like the mech cage was bent. Didn’t think to check the hanger. They are soft as cheese so could well be that. I’ve already got a spare as I’ve had a run of breaking them lately. Thanks, I’ll check that when I get home, and also have a good look at the chainline. Also I think I’ll remove the chain and see if the high and low position of the mech/jockey wheels is the same as when I set it up.

Not sure if waiting lists and appealing are the same thing? My sister appealed when her daughter didn’t get the school 2 minutes from their house. It was a laborious process though and amongst all the paperwork she had to go up in front of an interview panel of 3 officials etc. It worked though.

OP can you appeal the decision in your area? My niece didn’t get her first choice, so my sister officially appealed and managed to get her in eventually.

We were up at 2am this morning checking on the local admissions website and were very lucky to find out that our daughter got into the village school a short walk from our house. There are only 20 places available, and half of them were already going to siblings. Our daughters best friend who lives a little further from the school than us didn’t get in. Can’t believe how nervous me and Mrs Wilko were in the build-up to finding out. We barely slept a wink last night, daft really.

Ugh good god, to start with I thought the bit of the pants going off to our right was a barely concealed boner 😥

To be fair the main problem is probably putting into words what we do without normally thinking about it. I’m no expert by any stretch but I can hop my BMX onto a 2′ ledge, and it sure as hell feels like I have to pull back on the bars during part of the motion to achieve this!

EDIT: although thats of no relevance at all to the OPs original question!

I know that jairaj that’s why I was asking him what sort of bunny-hop he meant. And with an ‘american’ bunny-hop, the type you would use to clear a big obstacle or hop onto a high ledge, you do pull on the bars, even if its mainly back in towards your chest to maximise your height before levelling out.

mtbel so can you do a bunny-hop without holding your bars? Assuming you are riding flats. What sort of bunny-hop are you referring to? If you want to bunny-hop over a big obstacle or on to a ledge you will be pulling on your bars

100% for me. Ordered a Titus El Guapo frame 3 years ago, it turned up 2 days after I ordered it. And that’s all I’ve ever ordered from them. Bl88dy awesome service!

It’ll be a lovely ride around the Cotswolds on what looks to be a nice day with ideal riding conditions. As long as you don’t go there expecting an off-road singletrack experience you’ll enjoy it.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who pay (a little) to play the game for the love of it, our subs were £4 per game. I like to think most professional players play because they love the game, it just happens that they get paid to do it.

Jealous. It was the other way round for me I’m afraid – b*ll*cks to motorbikes – hello pushbikes. When my daughter was born 4 years ago I figured I’d run the gauntlet long enough on supersport bikes and decided that I wanted to be around to see her grow up. Son came along 18 months ago. Motorbiking is something that I will return to when they’re older and it’ll be on a Harley or similar.

Have fun, I sorely miss the thrill of opening the throttle on a motorbike 😀

It really is a bit of a road-fest this year. After spending ages posting wanted ads and finally getting one transferred into my name, I’m actually going to bunk off the HoNC. Going for an epic off-piste ride in FoD instead to take advantage of the great weather, brilliant dry trails and an all-day riding window!

Problem is, so many people have been scammed, have had scammers unsuccessfully attempt to scam them or have witnessed other people scammed here on STW that they have become extremely cautious, including myself. Most people will err on the side of extreme caution so that’s why the majority of responses have been rather negative, justifiably or not.

At the end of the day, if you’re happy with the way the deal has been carried out, and you get some assurance from your bank that the payment has completely cleared and cannot be reversed then you’ll be fine

I’m not really following you to be fair and I don’t normally waste time trying to prove/argue my opinions to strangers on the internet. I was just trying to point out a couple of potential things to the OP in an attempt to help him out. If you disagree, nice one, you’ve put forward your opinion too. I really don’t fit in around here do I!

Not that odd njee if you think about it.

I’m not saying its definitely a scam, just a few things that would slightly worry me, being a cautious type that I am.

Couple of things stand out for me.

    1) “portugese guy that runs a shipping company in London” not sure why but that doesn’t sound particularly legit
    2) why would he specifically choose a payment method that gives him no protection?

Anyway, I’d get confirmation that the funds are cleared and can’t be reversed from your bank before letting it go

I’m still crashing through the travel on relatively small drops with two tokens as well, at 25-30% sag. Although I’m a little heavier kitted out at about 95kg. I must have very little finesse I think. Anyway, I also have some more tokens on order to try out a third.

EDIT Don’t know why I said all that, my post above says pretty much exactly the same thing save for different units of rider + kit weight. I’m losing it 😳

I’m currently up to two, and am still bottoming out the fork quite easily with about 25% sag setting. 160mm 26″ versions by the way. I’m about 15 stone kitted out though, going to try a third token. As above they’re dead easy to fit and try out.

Sod’s law here. Spent most of the winter super-healthy somehow avoiding all the illnesses that my kids picked up and passed on to Mrs Wilko. Now the sun is blazing, the trails are already dry round here and I’ve got a god-awful stinking cold. Pah!

Mmm I fancy a chip pie now, or just a classic chip butty would do. WTF is a ‘wolfdog’? Kens Burger Van on the A38 south of Gloucester does a Cheesy Pig. Haven’t tried one yet due to his breakfast baguettes being the best £3.50 money can buy.

The connoisseurs choice if you live in the Podsmead area of Gloucester. Also on that chippy’s menu is deep fried pizza, and… deep fried chips. My mate had the deep fried chips once – an almost inedible thick stodgy modge of batter and chips all in one big coronary-inducing lump

We’re on the uplift tomorrow and know where all the tracks are, marked and hidden so we’ll be happy to show you. Some of us ride with full face, some not, none of us are on DH bikes though and none of us are that fast either. Good, friendly uplift service 🙂 Weather looks terrible though, the bottom half of most of the tracks are proper rooty so will be well slippery

It is quite rare, but unfortunately if one member of your rugby team gets it, and you all share water bottles (and snog in the showers after 😀 ) etc you can guarantee it will spread like wildfire. It spread to both my balls, right first, then as that one was getting better it made its way over to my left. Words cannot describe the pain. Although the swelling looked impressive, imagine balls the size/shape of big baked potatoes.
