I was up Nan Beild on Sunday, its a slow hike up with all the snow and ice, the descent was worth it for the craic. Were heading to Snowdon this weekend so fingers crossed for the rangers path.

So we decided to park at Haweswater, hike-a-bike up Nan beild and descend into Kentmere. The path was totally snowed over but following footprints was enough to give us some direction. The snow was pretty deep, but a whole lotta fun..pretty stop-start. Gatesgarth climb was easier with much less snow until you reach the top, and the descent was similar to the first. All in all, worth going if you fancy a snow ride.. dont expect any record breaking times though. My mate was on a fat bike too which did a much better job on the slopes than my hi rollers!

Orange alpine 160 would be my choice. Rideable all day for the xc runs yet more than capable and confidence boosting should your friend want to try more than xc.

I work in Guiseley and am from Burley In Wharfedale (between Ilkley and Otley). Guiseley is nice, loads of housing developments going up at the moment. Personally I recommend either Menston or Burley in Wharfedale. Has everything you need by the sounds of it.

Have heard rumours on another forum, that someone recognised him from Cannock, and apparently he is part of a gang that steal bikes to order.. Hopefully this will have foiled their plans and no more bikes will fall in to their hands again!

If you see him or a silver astra hanging around and driving up and down the driveway at Cannock.. report them to the forestry guys!

It would have been nice to have used the last few years thai boxing training 😉 but to be honest, i felt sorry for him. He must have been bricking it, with us all around him. we were giving him a fair bit of abuse, and arguing with each other as to whether we should do him in or not! LOL 🙂

FYI i didnt post the picture (becasue i couldnt figure out how) lol

haha lancashire can keep todmorden 😉 Ilkley moor is a playground, from the cow and calf towards white wells. Hebdden Bridge, has plenty of nice descents. Stanni’s drop and a couple of cheekies from Hep are my favourites.

Plenty of nice descent lines down Otley chevin too.

Up in the Dales: Buckden, Arncliffe and Embsey are great, but a cheeky one down Ingleborough is my favourite.. but its a loooong climb up!

I dont know what shop they came from, they were a gift purchased online. I am asking the questions to the buyer (a relative) who should be able to look back through bank statements to find out. Given they were purchased nearly a year ago, by someone with no interest in bikes, I wouldnt expect them to remember the name of the shop (would your gran??)

    Cheers for your input people.

good suggestion goatster, will try that option!

higgo, your right; I sent them back to the UK distributor, fisher outdoor. You have a valid point, but in the condition they are in, whether they were from them or from elsewhere, they are the face and brand representatives of rockshox in the UK, so I would have expected more from them than such a negative answer.

There is clearly (from looking at the forks) a production line fault on the forks and it isnt through any kind of missuse, they could have referred them back to the manufacturer IMO.

I moved to Hebden Bridge 5 months ago, and commute to Leeds everyday by car. Over the Moors it takes me around 45 minutes which is perfect. Parking here is a hassle, as are the hordes of tourists but there are plenty of other benefits in the town i.e the riding. yea its not Cumbria, but the singletrack here is second to none. I love the fact that i can get home from work and Im always within a mile from home and have amazing trails without going on a mission in the car!

Not found any of the rough pubs that people have mentioned, or actually come across that many lesbians if im honest… just hippies, drunks and stoners!..none of which I have issues with;)

The houses are pretty damp too lol

oh, and with Orange just down the road and Hope a few miles away too, getting work done on my Alpine has been super easy! 🙂

they replaced my snapped hub axel last week, in 3 hours! sadly though the replacement wasnt machined right through.. so the maxle didnt fit 🙁 paid a visit to Orange the next day, who replaced the axel there and then 🙂

still very happy with the service and time its taken for fixing!

Cheers for all the feedback guys. Appreciate the followers, and thanks for linking up your blogs!

I am working on the title image now, so bear with me! Along with the general format etc. As previously said, I’m useless with computers, so it probably wont look as flash as others, but hopefully the content will improve and keep people interested!

I will be putting more articles/reviews of rides up, as I agree that pictures alone do get a bit same old! Hoping to start doing a few product reviews too, of kit I use. Its not the most expensive kit in the world, but I use it for what ‘we’ like to do and I am a consumer. Not a sponsered rider/magazine etc, So hopefully the downn to earth honesty and no bullsh1t approach may get more readers.

Anything else people want to see from a blog?
