‘Just had a scoot around on a very icy road’

Mick, didn’t we have a conversation about avoiding ice this winter ?!! At least you had legs as stabilisers

I thought the frame looked great in the flesh today, but the pics of it built up are impressive. Great work mate 🙂

Just broke my hip. Sounds like I got off lightly compared to you guys 🙁

I have got a cracking scar though and some nice metalwork – roll on the first airport checkin

Didn’t really want to thank him – just fancied his Orange 5 !!

Think DH’ing might be a tad difficult by March. I’d be thankful to be walking 🙂

cheers mate, defo doing what I’m told as the consequences are too much to bear – potentially a partial hip replacement and the risk of no riding !

Not sure how Tom managed to walk off – I couldn’t move from the spot where I landed. Not moving does seem to have increased my chances of recovery as the joint didn’t displace too badly. We’ll see

    Cheers

hit and miss much like evertyone else. I like the design and the prices but sometimes its the details that let Endura down.

for example, the zips on my gillet and event jacket don't give you confidence that they will last. Also the poppers on my singletrack shorts and Mt500 shorts failed. Some more thought into the waist fastening would help, maybe reinforced with velcro or bigger poppers? The seams on my singletracks were repaired before they finally completely let go.

I want to buy british but its annoying going through a pair of shorts every 6 months. I've had similar problems with Altura too

Genesis Altitude 19" – 29 lbs with not particularily trying. Setup currently for lakes type winter riding with

    Revs, coil U-turn 85-130mm(pushed)
    SLX twin and bash
    Xm719s running 2.3 Swampthings (tubeless)
    Oro K18 brakes
    SLX running gear
Mixture of thompson and easton finishing kit

Would be easy (but not cheap!) to shed several lbs by swapping the wheel/tyre combo and forks, fit a ligher bash setup. Say 26lb with some black stuff added in.

I run a XT front with my double and bash – so no need to buy the specific mech unless you have too. You just adjust the top limit screw to 2 rings use.

Was up there last weekend and the snow line seemed to be about 1700 ft. Check the national park weather line for more info. I notice bogtrotters did a ride around Ambleside on Sunday and the trails looked good and clear.

Not sure about the panniers question but definately recommend Conti Ultra Gatorskin. Reasonably light, roll well and pretty puncture proof. Go for the 28's

Would have been good to do the dog kennels but it would killed us pushing up the climb. Maybe we should have doen the road then down …mmmm

Not sure about doing all that in the dark again on wednesday !

Just seen some pics of the lakes on some other threads…mighty impressive. MIght be worth a punt next weekend ???

    Vortex

Just checked both my spesh tri-cross and Felt and I have toe overlap on both. BUT have never experienced any problems on the road. In normal riding you just don't turn the steering that much and also rely on lean to corner.

Just get it bought…sounds a cracking bike 😆

See you morning, weather looking ok but swampies still on September, cant believe it

nice pics Vortex (I'm claiming the copyright though!)

Yes LLandegla isn't as good as the natural stuff, or even some of the other trail centres but its a good blast if ridden fast .. and the new sections look good. The new skills area is opening in the next few weeks and is impressive.

And it has one of the best trail caffs by far 😀
