Specialized are usualy good with warranty stuff so would try ringing them myself.

From their website (see the bit I have highlighted in bold):

LIMITED FIVE (5) YEAR WARRANTY ON SUSPENSION ATTACHMENTS AND SUSPENSION RELATED EQUIPMENT

Also subject to the following limitations, terms and conditions, Specialized warrants to the original owner of this bicycle that any Specialized branded suspension attachment points, and any Specialized branded suspension related equipment (including pivot points, bushings, shock units, front suspension forks, stays, plates, fasteners) when new are free of defective materials or workmanship. This warranty shall expire five (5) years from the date of the original purchase from an authorised Specialized dealer and is conditioned upon the bicycle being operated under normal conditions and use, properly maintained and set up correctly for the rider’s weight. This warranty is void if the bicycle was not assembled by an authorised Specialized dealer in accordance with Specialized’s instructions and does not transfer to subsequent owners of the bicycle. This warranty does not apply to attachments and equipment which are unbranded or branded otherwise than with the Specialized brand, however, suspension equipment which is branded otherwise than with the Specialized brand may have warranty coverage offered by the specific manufacturer. Please check in your owner’s manual pack for information regarding these warranties or check with your authorised Specialized dealer for details.

Had an awesome time at bpw, G150 was brilliant.
Much more confidence inspiring in the rocks and roots than anything else I have ridden. The guide brakes work fine, was expecting to hate them as had shimano zees before and didn’t like XO trails when I tried them.

The bike handles great and saved my ass in a few very badly executed drops and jumps, struggling with the shock tune a little though very small pressure change is the difference between harsh and willowy.

But definitely felt faster in the turns and well everywhere than I have ever been there. And last time I rode there I was on a £5k + yeti

I’d go for something like a Whyte T129 or a Specialized camber. Decent bikes for the moment and will be great for easier longer distances but still handle a bit of techy stuff when you get back into it more.

Taking the G150 to BPW monday for it’s first proper ride so will report back then as not tested it on anything worthy enough to judge it on yet!

Pretty much any bike shop should be able to find out if they are available/in stock from fishers (assuming they have an account),

I’m surprised Specialized didn’t insist on having more “Specialized” on it, though.

Saves weight having less stickers 😉

As above or stretch a bit to the zecto drive, brighter (but bigger) and usb rechargeable for minimal cost and hassle.

I think the ‘shop try internet buy’ thing is an awful mickey take and really think it’s beyond being ‘cheeky’. The thing that is repeated a bit on this thread is people criticising bike shop sales skills and their inabilities to persuade people to buy there rather than online with free this or free that. My point is that unfortunately a team of professional marketeers and web sales people with bigger profit margins are able to achieve better sales than a local shop staffed by real true enthusiasts. It’s a crying shame…

That is a lot of the issue. People don’t see why they should pay anymore to get it from a shop rather than online.

Eg. Customer needs new wheel for ride today. Wheel is £250, but he says can get online for £210 with 2% cash back also. Offer it for lowest we can do at £220 and will swap cassette etc for him so can go riding today. Customer says there is no benefit to them to buy from us so will go home and order online. So they will be £10 richer and have to fit themselves and miss out on a few days riding and the same again if there is any issues with it.

I went into a local shop and asked for the best price for a bike, they told me the supplier didn’t allow them to discount. I pointed out that was illegal, they ran out back and didn’t return.

If they discount items and the supplier finds out they could lose their contract and stop getting X brand of bikes in future.

Surely no one is surprised that retail shops staffed by enthusiasts are not as good at converting sales as professional sales, advertising and marketing people…

Would you rather walk into a bike shop and speak to people who know a lot about and ride bikes or one where they just repeat all the spiel from the press launches and pressure you into a sale?

Where I work we are hired based pretty much on bike knowledge and enthusiasm not just because we are experienced at sales. Bike shops would be like car dealerships then…

I’m overweight and eat too much crappy food but hardly ever get sick and ride bikes so which category do I fit in?

They generally only sell as full bikes.

£500 puts you into 2nd hand orange patriot (or similar) territory probably

You must be a very good customer to get that!

Most are limited to the cheap multi tool kept by the till in our shop.

I once waited at a crossing the lights went red and the traffic stopped so I stepped onto the crossing and a woman on a bike crashed into me at speed knocking me over then rode of swearing at me…

I’ve also had people jump out in front of me and I haven’t mowed them down so both cyclists and pedestrians can be idiots and you don’t have to be one of them 😉

I know someone who can’t sell a top spec and hardly used sb66 (Ali) for £2500… But others are selling OK just need to the right person.

Specialized Romin, Ti or carbon railed versions.

As much as I use Wiggle, it will be a real shame if, on the back of a real revolution in UK cycling, we lose the network of LBS and the culture that goes with them.

Use your lbs instead of wiggle then?

The tiny self adhesive park or specialised ones are fine for that at £3 a pack.

I wouldn’t bother with them on road tubes… Other than last resort when you have used all your spare tubes miles from home.

The T130 seems like a really nice bike I opted for the G150 in the end.
Did cosider the cube but the numbers just seem all wrong, it is shorter has longer chain stays and has a steeper head angle.

Almost every bike has them and loads are sold so there are bound to a few people with issues but they are great forks.

Hopefully will give it a test in the next few days and report back. Only ridden it to work and back so far…

Weighs in around 31lbs (with pedals on a calibrated park scales) so out of the box it would have been over 32lbs without changing the bars and saddle etc, also it came set up tubeless which is unusual but saved me a job!

Wheels seem decent they have been used on most of their models for a few years and I can’t recall any customers bringing any back to the shop with issues to be honest.

Guide brakes seem nice have a much nicer lever feel than avids ever did but not tested in anger yet.

I’m only 5’8″ but must be a weird shape as felt the T130 was to short in the TT, the G150 is longer (near enough as long in a medium as the T130 is in large)

Depends if you can sell the frame first really. I split my bike and probably got more than it would have got whole but I am stuck with the forks still…
