Neither, get the stereo 140 much much better sizing and geometry. The Pike equipped versions are 150 front. (selling like hot cakes atm so won’t have long to get hold of one)

    wo points:
    1. Why don’t you vote for the party that you think will do the best job for the country
    2. I’m not 100% sure you’re vote will be the deciding factor as I believe there will be other residents of your constituency who may express an opinion at the ballot box
I admire your optimistic narrow self interest, though.

    This + many 1’s

Why do people always think of who will save them £10 a month in income tax rather than who will make the country the best place for everyone.

Yep if a conti it has twisted.

It is possible to damage other parts by not greasing it by the way, if the bearings dry out it can cause wear to the link and that is not covered under warranty. I have seen it happen so I wouldn’t be too cocky about the warranty thing 😉

Better it happened now that 100 meters after the start line though?

Not a warranty issue though, mech hangers are supposed to break and clearly it has had a knock and probably weakened before and it chose its moment to let go.

surely that depends on what you usual shoes are? if they are flip flops then I would say the rimes are better.

I think it will be a diverge because I would like to be able to do a bit more than just road. Sort of has to be these models as I have decided I need hydro disks or a roubaix sport or similar would be fine… Other option of course is to wait a few months and see if there is a cheaper carbon diverge in the 2016 range…

Bit dubious of them being new XT brakes considering it has literally just been launched.

I like to smugly remind my mates that my bar and stem together weigh less than their renthals, but everyone still buys them all the time…

You stand… well you don’t have a leg to stand on really.

If they are out of warranty then they are not covered but if you are lucky they might sort something for you. I’m guessing not using them and storing them somewhere hot/cold could be bad for the glue or something

Decided on specialized already, I don’t have to pay “normal” prices so value for money not much of an issue.

Yeah that is what my head says, my current acient commuter has full guards and it is great in the wet and something like raceblades on the roubaix would work but be less than ideal.

Just something in me feels bad about buying a £2k Ali framed bike. Also the fact that is a bolt through front but not rear is a little annoying as upgrading the wheels might be a bit of a pain in the future.

The carbon diverge is just too much at the moment although it does seem like the perfect answer…

Really tempted to get one, but will probably wait for a fuse instead…

I’ve got some retro xt/mavic wheels. 117 ceramic rims iirc that I bought for my retro commuter but never fitted. They need a bit of grease but pretty good with plenty of life left plus a few v brake bits. Email me if you interested as I need to get rid.

I remember watching fmx when everyone said doing a backflip was impossible but people kept trying(and usually really hurting themselves) it mad how quickly it has progressed.

I know someone who has gone through 1 per ride on their new bike (3 so far)… all replaced under warranty but still not very impressive.

I didn’t want that to come across as harsh but I deal with this a lot and most people who are willing to spend £6k on a bike wouldn’t bat an eyelid at £50 to make sure they like it first. However the people who ring from miles away because they are spending the weekend in Wales and want to know if we have demo bikes seem to change their mind about wanting it when they here £50 charge.

How is it a rip off? You want to use £6k bike for free?, do you not think there would be an endless line of people with no intention of buying one just using it for the weekend instead of their hatdtail for an uplift day.

Most shops charge for demo but you get the £50 off the bike if you buy it. The shop buys that bike and have to maintain it and set it up for each person that uses it.

In my experience aksiums are a bit heavy but bomb proof. Perfect for commuter bikes as will handle hopping kerbs and stuff.

No, but they might be a bit harder to get in without pinching.

The Whyte is an awesome bike and is available from proper bike shops so the winner for me.

I can only go with my dad because I can’t get a membership because of my lowly working class profession… I like the giant trays of Danish pastries though.

+1 on impact driver. Exact same thing with my mate, a few broken sockets and bruises no joy, 30 seconds with impact driver and they were off.

Doubt it will shake things up much. Nothing that special really and not sure about what the warranty back up etc would be like.

No good new stuff is ST. By good I mean says xt or whatever a current alvio won’t be far off older stuff in quality.

    Or look on retro bike.

2.3″ jump bike/street tyres made my commuter much more comfy than skinny slicks, seem faster too.

Not sure where you are but rampworld in Cardiff sell quite a few small bmx’s and you get a free skatepark session if you buy one..

I don’t get it… The bloke said he made it because he is tall and heavy and no bikes fitted him, so he made a bike for himself that needs a 100mm stem?

    I’ve never tried one…

The way they look makes me think the texture will be horrible so i can only eat them when they are cooked/made into other stuff

IIRC they use weird size bearings if they need replacing, easy enough to get from a bearing place but most LBS won’t have them.

The cube has the best overalll spec, but I would go for the rockhopper while on offer as it looks awesome and decent spec and is the best brand of the 3 imho. Also it comes with a dropper post.

Why are you taking it out?

Unless you are replacing it which means it won’t matter if it is broken.

Whyte is just normal threaded gxp. Best option is hope with gxp adaptor.
